We decided to do this in the summer, when flowers make us happy multi-colored paints and gardens ripen when everyone feels light, warmth and extraordinary joy.

We arrived at the Barskaya Usadba country complex on July 27, at the beginning of the twelfth day. Right at the entrance, as a host, we were met by the always smiling Leonid Teleshev, however, he met not only us, but many other guests of the festival.
The staff of the “Manorial Estate” also gave us a warm, welcoming welcome, despite the very heavy workload associated with preparations for the Gala concert. During competition day, many working hands managed to completely prepare the territory of the complex for festive celebration- we installed tents with refreshments, decorated a restaurant area right on the street, equipped an “auditorium” in folk-ethnic style (which was very consistent with the atmosphere and surrounding nature), assembled and installed a stage with many lighting fixtures, baked a huge cake (which was treated to everyone interested immediately after the concert).
For the first time in the history of the festival, there was wonderful, truly summer weather, which even Jurmala and “ New wave", without rain or other surprises, lasted both days of the festival, which gave participants the opportunity not only to work hard, but also to enjoy being in nature, walk in the forest and swim in great river Volga.
For many participants, this was the first such festival in which they took part, but there were also those who came not for the first or even the second time. There were also those who, having come to the festival for the first time, came not for an award, but for participation and new friends, one of these contestants was Larisa Kuliga from Khanty-Mansiysk, Ugra:
“I really wanted to communicate with the masters of chanson, take part in the festival and feel the atmosphere of the holiday; I did not allocate a place for myself.”
Our conversation with the contestant, who had the challenge of being the first to appear before the jury during the final audition, turned out to be very symbolic. Little did we know then that we were talking to the finalist who would take first place:

“I came here by invitation, for the first time. I have been studying music for 21 years, I really love the work of M. Krug. I am incredibly glad that I pulled out the first number, this is the first time for me, it was not difficult for me to come out first, rather the opposite. Set up, went out, performed. It's always better to be first than last. Many thanks to my friends who support me and my work, and a huge hello to Tver and all those who know me.”
Even before the start of the final audition, we met the charming Elena Elsakova from Novosibirsk, who won second place:
“I write songs myself, and this is the first time I’ve come to such a festival and I’m participating not only as an author, but also, for the first time, as a performer. I really hope to win, I really want to win and I will do everything possible for this, which depends on me, but to be even just a participant is very honorable for me.”
The emotions of all the participants cannot be expressed in words; the strongest excitement and anticipation of something new and unknown was passed from one to another. A wave of good mood, like some kind of virus, infected everyone around with optimism and hope. The contestant from Belarus, Minsk, Georges Volchek, who took third place, captivated everyone with his special charm:
“For me, my third prize is like a grand prix! I am very happy and glad to make new acquaintances and contacts. Now I will start working with triple energy! I knew they were fighting for me!”
Even during the audition, all the contestants identified the “favorite” of the festival, and as time has shown, they were absolutely right in their choice: Alexander Shishkov from Vologda received the Grand Prix of the festival, amazing everyone with his fervor, artistry and excellent vocal performance:
“I didn’t expect it at all. For me it’s a shock and a joy that’s hard to put into words.”
It should be noted that the competition jury had a very difficult time distributing places, with the exception of the Grand Prix, on this issue they were unanimous.
Singer, producer and author Vladimir Chernyakov, chairman of the jury:
“In my life, I have already participated in various competitions several times, but this competition was special, and this audition, during which we were nervous and worried about all the contestants. During the debates, we counted votes, swore, and argued. Then they went for a break, came back and continued arguing. As it turned out, we, the five jury members, have completely different views on the performance of the contestants, except, of course, for one who won today and will receive the main prize.”
One of the winners of last year’s Chanson festival, and now a guest, author and performer Yuri Kost from Tyumen, who also performed at the Gala concert, also came to support the contestants:
“This year I came to this festival as a performer, to take part in the Gala concert, and of course to support the contestants and wish them victory in the competition and good luck in the musical field.”
For the festival winners, July 28 was a special day; the excitement before going on stage was comparable to performing in front of the jury on the competition day. Excitement was replaced by joy and a festive mood, which is not at all surprising, because on July 28, the “Manorial Estate” was completely transformed, dressed in a festive outfit of snow-white balloons, gold jewelry, and the happy faces of the guests of the holiday.
We were invited as guests of honor to the Gala concert: famous singers, such as: Alexander Laminsky, Semyon Canada, Stella Gianni, Katerina Golitsyna, Lyubov Shepilova, Grisha Zarechny, Valery Kuras, Leonid Teleshev, Vladimir Chernyakov, Eva Amurova, Vladimir Bocharov, Ian Marty, Kurban Galiy, Pavel Pascal, Alexey Glyzin, Olga Kormukhina and many others, as well as popular presenters from radio “Chanson”. Many TV channels and journalists were full of badges and camera flashes. TV “Chanson” with many television cameras diligently did not miss a single moment, trying to capture every performance of the artists and the many smiles of the audience. It should be noted that all performers, without exception, sang live. It was a real holiday of the soul!
