Maria:“As a child, I really dreamed of singing like Sofia Rotaru. I was torn between music and sports, because becoming a titled figure skater would also be nice. (Smiles.) But in the end, music won. Today I realize my abilities in this way. But I don’t plan to sing as a vocalist. What is commercially successful in our country is not at all close to me.”

So far you only have the movie “Women vs. Men” under your belt. Are you considering participating in another full-length film or TV series?

Maria:"Why not? I’m a fan of soap operas like “Wild Angel”, “Clone”, “Indian Roads”. But I'm attracted borderline states- I want to play an alcoholic, drug addict, psychopath in modern conditions, something that is alien and incomprehensible to me. Unfortunately, there are very few decent scripts. For example, recently they called me to a detective story, where I had to play an investigator. Your mother sewed hats, your grandmothers probably embroidered, knitted... Isn’t this kind of quiet handicraft close to you?

Maria:“I’m too motor for such a painstaking task. I better music I'll listen. (Smiles.) But nevertheless, my grandmother, my father’s mother, Maria Akimovna, after whom I was named, taught me how to embroider napkins, shirts and tablecloths. This, by the way, was also a unique lady. I even got excited about the idea of ​​writing a script and filming a film about her life, full of extraordinary events.
