The age of Alla Dukhova Todes. Biography of Alla Dukhova

Alla Dukhova is a famous choreographer in Russia and the Baltic countries, whose creative biography and personal life became a real example to follow. This outstanding woman, without money or connections, was able to make her way to the top of the stellar Olympus, becoming a sought-after professional whom thousands of aspiring dancers look up to.

Alla Vladimirovna Dukhova was born into a family of teachers at the very end of autumn on November 29, 1966. Her birthplace is the distant village of Kosa, located in the Perm region. However, it so happened that the parents did not stay in this place for a long time, moving to the capital of the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic, the city of Riga. It was there that the future dancer spent her happy childhood years.

As one would expect, Alla grew up as a talented child. Very early, her relatives noticed her craving for music, which prompted them to send the girl to the Riga music school. It was there that she first saw professional choreography. Repeatedly after finishing her lessons, Alla secretly sneaked into the classroom and watched how other children learned to dance. Afterwards, at home, she repeated the remembered movements in front of the mirror. It was then that her mother decided to give the child the right to choose, asking what the girl really wanted to do more: music or dancing. We all know very well what Alla chose then.

Realizing that her beloved daughter was seriously interested in choreography, her mother took eleven-year-old Alla to the local ensemble “Ivushka”, where the girl fell into the hands of excellent teachers. This is where it began big way to success. Teachers praised Dukhova’s technique, her determination and pronounced talent, thanks to which Alla quickly increased her category.

The circus became a new milestone in the career of the future celebrity. Having once come as a spectator to a performance, a sixteen-year-old girl realized that she wanted to perform in the circus arena. And surprisingly, she quickly managed to gain the favor of the management, after which Alla Dukhova received permission to participate in one of the attractions and became, albeit for a short time, a full member of the troupe.

Unfortunately, the girl’s life soon changed dramatically. At one of the performances, she broke her ankle, after which doctors banned her from dancing.

In order to somehow survive, the girl got a job at a factory producing mopeds, where her mother worked. However, Alla could not get the dream of dancing out of her head.

Ballet "Todes"

In her youth, as now, Alla Dukhova was a very ambitious person. And just come to terms with the end of your life brilliant career she, of course, couldn't.

Coming out of depression, the girl decided to return to choreography and, together with her sister Diana, they joined the ensemble with a telling name“Experiment”, which promoted a new revolutionary direction for the late eighties - breakdancing. It was Alla’s presence that made the unknown group popular. The young people toured the cities a lot Soviet Union, winning various competitions and becoming owners of prestigious grand prix.

In 1987, during a regular tour in the small town of Palanga, located in western Lithuania, members of the Experiment group met Leningrad dancers who called themselves the Todos team. These guys also practiced breakdancing, but they failed to achieve serious success in this field.

After communicating with each other, the dancers decided to join forces and create a single team, which they called “Todes”. From the first day its leader and ideological inspirer was Alla Dukhova. It is thanks to her irrepressible energy, choreographic and teaching talent and high organizational skills that “Todes” has become a real brand in the dance community.

Allah with his sons

Over the 30 years that the band has been performing on stage, they have achieved truly impressive success. Dukhova's wards often accompany the performances of the most prominent representatives domestic show business: Philip Kirkorov, Kristina Orbakaite, Valery Leontyev, Larisa Dolina, Sofia Rataru, who, by the way, was the first to notice the talented guys. Moreover, some of Alla’s former students became famous personalities. For example, rappers Vlad Sokolovsky and Mot, politician Evgenia Vasilyeva, singer and socialite Alena Kravets.

Personal life

Not only a successful creative biography, but also her personal life, as well as children, has always been of great importance for Alla Dukhova. However, the choreographer does not like to talk about his relationships with men.

Fans know that Alla Vladimirovna had two husbands. The first marriage took place when Dukhova was only 22 years old. The wife's name was Sergei and he was successfully involved in programming. This union produced a son, Vladimir. However, the family broke up soon after the boy was born. Then Alla’s husband decided to emigrate to the United States, but Dukhova, on the contrary, wanted to stay in her homeland.

The woman's second marriage also turned out to be fruitful. In a civil marriage with Anton Kis, lighting designer for the ballet “Todes,” Alla gave birth to another son, Konstantin, in 2002. Unfortunately, this relationship also could not be preserved, and some time ago the family broke up.

Now Alla Vladimirovna is completely focused on her creative projects, children and grandchildren, which her eldest son Vladimir began to give her. It is known that in 2014, the famous choreographer became a grandmother for the first time - her granddaughter Sofia was born.

Now, after years, Alla is sure that her personal life did not work out because of her work. “I just didn’t have enough strength for my husband,” she said in an interview.

  • After a complex leg fracture and a ban on professional choreography, a dark streak began in Dukhova’s life. And to earn money, she had to work as a janitor.

  • Trying to get out of the depression associated with the loss of the opportunity to dance, Alla took up teaching practice, helping Soviet children in summer camps join the dancing. And I must say that Dukhova turned out to be a wonderful mentor.

  • The first combined performance of the groups “Todes” and “Experiment” took place on March 8, 1987.
  • The permanent number of participants in the show ballet “Todes” is 150 people.

  • Being a young and very busy mother, Alla Vladimirovna could not pay due attention to her eldest son Vladimir. That is why the boy spent a lot of time with Aunt Diana in Riga. But this did not spoil the relationship between close people.

  • Alla Dukhova graduated from the directing department of the Russian Academy of Theater Arts.

Alla Dukhova today

Currently, the choreographer has moved to live closer to her relatives in Latvia, where she has a huge house. The woman travels a lot, maintains a personal blog on social network Instagram, and also develops the largest network of dance schools in the world. Today, Todes has 111 branches in different countries, where about 20 thousand students study, the youngest of whom is only 3 years old. Dukhova selects teachers for her school personally.

Alla Dukhova is a choreographer, founder of the dance group Todes, which from a choreographic group over 30 years of existence has turned into a real brand.

Today, the brainchild of the Todes Wind Ballet is not only a dance group whose name is known all over the world, but also a network of dance schools, which includes 80 branches, and the Alla Dukhova TODES Dance Theater, which opened in Moscow in 2014.

Childhood and youth

Alla Vladimirovna Dukhova was born in the village of Kosa, Komi-Permyatsky Autonomous Okrug in November 1966. But a year later the Dukhov family moved to Riga. There the children's and teenage years Alla. The first meeting with the world of choreography took place in the capital of Latvia.

Dukhova was musical girl. Parents noticed this early and sent their daughter to the Riga Music School. One day, my mother noticed that little Alla, after music lessons, quietly entered the choreography class next door and for a long time, as if spellbound, watched the children’s classes. Upon arriving home, the girl accurately reproduced what she saw in front of the mirror.

When Mom asked Alla what she wanted to do more, her daughter immediately gave an unequivocal answer: dancing and choreography. Mom took her daughter to a local ensemble folk dance called “Ivushka”, where at that time the teachers were Laizane, Shurkin and Dubovitsky. They became Dukhova’s main mentors in professional choreography and teachers for her entire future life.

Ballet "Todes"

Alla dreamed of learning to dance well, as well as creating choreographic numbers and full-fledged performances. At the age of 16, she gathered a team of like-minded people. Then it consisted only of girls and was called “Experiment”. This experiment was successful and gained considerable popularity. Which is not strange, since Dukhova took as the basis for her dance performances the choreography of Western European and American schools, which was under an unspoken ban at the beginning of the Soviet 80s as too frank.

Alla Dukhova with the Todes team in her youth

Alla collected her experience bit by bit from cassettes with performances of Western dance groups, and watched street breakers.

Once “Experiment” Dukhov, speaking at dance competition in Palanga, crossed paths with the Leningrad youth breakdancing group, which bore the sonorous and memorable name “Todes”. The choreographer liked the risky tricks in the dances of “Todes”, and the guys from the Leningrad group admired the sharp and automatic movements of the girls from the Riga “Experiment”.

Performance of the ballet "Todes"

This sympathy led to the fact that the teams merged into one, taking the name men's. It organically intertwined choreography and breaker movements. It was something completely new and unlike anything else. In 1987, Alla was collectively elected as the creative director of the new ballet, because it was becoming more and more difficult to combine both production and organizational work.

During a tour of the North Caucasus, Todes' performances were an unprecedented sell-out. The guys were advised to try to perform in the capital. They thought that they were already quite ripe for its conquest, and went to Moscow. It wasn't easy for them at first. The guys lived in the Lyubertsy hostel, looked for venues for performances themselves and faced many difficult organizational issues. But on their path and on the path of Dukhova, they met Alexander Birman, who worked at the Riga Philharmonic.

He helped the ballet get to Chelyabinsk, where they were touring at that time popular singers, and other “overexposed” pop stars. The dancers performed between the singers' numbers and immediately received a sea of applause.

After the Chelyabinsk tour, Sofia Rotaru invited the Dukhova ballet to perform with her. Their collaboration lasted 5 years. Then “Todes”, which had already become popular, decided to go and develop in its own way.

The 5th anniversary of the team was celebrated first solo concert"Todesa." It was organized and financed by philanthropist and entrepreneur Igor Popov. After this concert, the team began to regularly receive offers joint performances from, and other pop stars.

, – with whom the Dukhov ballet has performed. The team has conquered the most famous music festivals from “ New wave» to the «Slavic Bazaar». But the greatest victory of Alla and her “Todes” took place on the international stage. The dancers performed at the Music Awards in Monte Carlo together with and. The Brass troupe danced twice in Michael Jackson's ballet - during his performances in Munich and Seoul.

"Todes" at a Michael Jackson concert

In 2014 there was an important event in the life of Alla Dukhova - the opening of the TODES Dance Theater in the capital of Russia. To the repertoire theater group included the performances “Dance Love!”, “Magic Planet TODES”, Attention, “WE”, “And I’ll Dream About This...”. To create the show, modern lighting equipment is used, 3D scenery and original costumes are used, which makes each production unique.

Dancing school

Since 1992, the Todes ballet group has been constantly expanding. In 1997, the second cast of the Dukhova ballet grew to 150 dancers and celebrated its 10th anniversary. From the same year, Alla began renting premises in Lefortovo, where she opened her first ballet dance school, “Todes”.

Soon 2 more appeared - in St. Petersburg and Riga. Over the next 10 years, the network of schools expanded throughout Russia, the CIS countries and even appeared in Malta. The most talented dancers, graduates of Dukhova schools, now demonstrate their skills on world stages.

In 2011, the “base” of the Dukhova ballet from Lefortovo moved to Paveletskaya embankment. Over the 24 years of the ballet's existence, several generations of dancers have changed. One thing has remained unchanged: “Todes” still attracts full houses of fans around the world. The ballet's tours continue continuously.

Now this school, located in Moscow, is attended by the children of friends and colleagues in the artistic workshop of Dukhova - Philip Kirkorov, and others. Alla does not strive to make every child a dance floor star; in her opinion, it is much more important to instill a love of dance and learn to move freely.

The creative biography of the choreographer has another bright page - talented woman launches its own clothing line, Todes Wear, for Everyday life and sports and dancing. The choreographer also presented a collection of perfumes intended for children. Care products are distinguished by the fact that they are created only from environmentally friendly ingredients.

Personal life

Dukhova’s personal life is eventful, but the choreographer herself says little about them. The dancer got married for the first time at an early age - at 22 years old. Discord in the family began after the husband thought about immigrating to the United States. At that time, Alla was pregnant with her first son, Vladimir, and did not want to leave her homeland. The birth of a child did not stop his father from making a decision - the couple divorced.

After her second marriage, which also ended in separation, Dukhova’s husband was Anton Kis, the permanent lighting designer for the ballet “Todes”. From her third husband, Alla gave birth to a son, Konstantin. And if the elder Vladimir became a theater director, receiving a bachelor's degree from the New York Film Academy, the younger one became interested in sports and dancing. Despite his large build, the young man has amazing flexibility, which his mother noticed long ago. The guy often takes part in productions of Todes.

The choreographer had to sacrifice his personal life for the sake of his profession for the third time: Alla broke up with Anton. Now all the choreographer’s attention is directed to his sons and granddaughter Sofia, whom Vladimir gave her. In an interview, the choreographer notes that he does not consider himself a feminist, but wishes every woman to be under the protection of a reliable and caring husband. The divorce did not prevent Anton and Alla from maintaining friendly relations; the ex-spouses continue to communicate.

The choreographer lives in 2 houses. In Riga, together with her sister’s family, Dukhova built a 15-room mansion, and in Moscow, in the early 2000s, she purchased an apartment on Zvenigorodskaya Street. This is a spacious apartment, partially designed in antique style.

Alla Dukhova now

2018 turned out to be eventful in creative life choreographer. This includes holding a TODES DANCE BATTLE and participating in the awards ceremony of the VI Real MusicBox awards, and the performance of the Todes studio in Turin at the lighting ceremony of the Winter Universiade 2019.

Now Dukhova continues to develop the Todes school network. Its branches continue to open throughout the country, and the strongest ones participate in the annual “Todes Fest” show.

In 2018, gala concerts of school participants were held in Kazan, Voronezh, Sochi, and Moscow. Reports on the work done, photos of festival participants appeared on the pages of the official website of the Todes ballet and personal "Instagram" Alla Vladimirovna. It was announced there new performance theater "See you in a Fairy Tale", the premiere of which started at the beginning of 2019.

Alla Dukhova's ballet "Todes" has existed for almost 30 years. At first it was completely small team. Its leader and creator Alla Dukhova was an unknown young girl at that time. She is with her dance group came to conquer Moscow. Then no one could have imagined what a brilliant future was in store for her and her small team.

Alla Dukhova

Alla Dukhova - director of the ballet "Todes" - was born on November 29, 1966 in the village of Kosa (Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug). A year later the move to Riga took place. There Alla met her parents and sent her to a music school. But the girl liked dancing more. At the age of 11, the future celebrity joined the Ivushka ensemble. But she dreamed not only of dancing, she wanted to be a stage director. A. Dukhova organized her first team at the age of 16. It was called "Experiment". Only girls danced in it. The dances of her group were based on modern Western choreography. Alla studied foreign school herself, on videotapes.

At one of the festivals in which A.V. Dukhova took part with her “Experiment,” fate brought her together with the male group of breakdancers “Todes” from St. Petersburg. The guys really liked Alla’s choreography. The girl, in turn, gained respect for the breakers for how skillfully they performed their tricks. As a result, the two teams decided to unite.

The performances were choreographed by Alla Dukhova. The ballet “Todes” quickly gained popularity. Very soon it became difficult for A. Dukhova to combine the work of a director and dance herself. The issue was resolved by the team by choosing her as leader.

Soon the Todes ballet set off to conquer the capital. There the artists worked as backup dancers for the stars Russian stage: S. Rotaru, K. Orbakaite, L. Dolina, V. Leontyev, V. Meladze, V. And already a grandmother - her granddaughter Sofia is three years old. This fall, the girl became one of the students of the TODES ballet, where she was brought by her parents - Alla Dukhova's eldest son Vladimir and his wife Anna.

Motherhood is a great joy for me. All free time I spend with my children. For example, we are working with Kostya’s son Nordic walking. And I try to devote the morning hours to communicating with him. In terms of choosing a profession and life path I trust my children. The eldest, Vladimir, is studying to become a director, Konstantin is still a schoolboy. What path they will choose, whether any of them will continue my work - life will show. The principles of my upbringing are simple: I love my sons, respect their choices and accept them! Now granddaughter Sofia is dancing with all her might in front of the mirror, making us laugh, and this year she went to classes at the TODES school.

Volodya was not interested in dancing. But Kostya, the youngest, loves to dance and enjoys going to dance school. And it's wonderful when children dance. From a scientific point of view, it has been proven that no sport develops the body as harmoniously as choreography.

When children come to our school, they become so enthusiastic that everyone has a personal motivation to attend classes. Children become disciplined and organized. This helps parents in their upbringing, and they enjoy using it.
Alla with son Kostya

Why choose dancing? The purposes for which children are brought to classes are completely different: someone brings a child to get in shape, lose weight, for general physical development. There are kids who are stressed out, and dance helps to overcome their inhibitions. Yes, there are those who are trying to make a star out of them. Many parents wanted to dance themselves, but various reasons They didn’t succeed, and they send their children to us.

One thing can be said: dancing provides tremendous positive energy, and regardless of your goals, everyone will enjoy and healthy body.

Brief biography of Alla Dukhova

Our heroine was born in the fall of 1966 in small village called Kosa (Russia, Komi-Permyak district). A few years after the birth of their daughter, the parents decide to move to Riga for permanent residence. It was in this city that I spent my childhood and early years girls, and it was there that the creative line in her biography began. Alla Dukhova with early years I was interested in dancing. Already in kindergarten she often lined up the children and showed them dance moves. The teachers especially liked such moments, because they understood that this girl had a talent from God. It began before their eyes dance career Alla Dukhova, whose biography will be of interest to many fans in the future.

The further fate of Alla

IN school years parents also noticed that their child was interested in dancing. After lessons, she often lingered at the entrance to the choreography class and watched the dancing girls for a long time. When she arrived home, she could repeat exactly what she saw. Having learned about this, the parents decide to enroll Alla in the Riga Music School in order to develop an ear for music.

Then the daughter said that she dreams of connecting her life with dancing. And then another column appeared in the biography of Alla Dukhova: a member of the folk dance group “Ivushka”. The girl was taken there by her mother, who wanted in every possible way to help her daughter make her dream come true. Our heroine studied dancing from such famous teachers as Laizane, Shurkin and Dubovitsky. These people became Alla’s first dance teachers, as well as close people who helped her in the future.

First dance group

The girl’s dreams included not just dancing, but also staging entire choreographic numbers, where she could perform in leading role, or just a leader. In her senior year at school, Alla, active and with excellent organizational skills, decided to create a team of people like her. She had a hard time with boys mutual language, so there were only females surrounded. Thus, the first dance group was created under the leadership of Dukhova, which she called “Experiment”. The personal life of Alla Dukhova, whose biography is presented in this article, at that time was based on last place. Because I dreamed about successful career dancers.

She came up with this name for a reason. After all, Alla’s plans were to combine her choreographic numbers and dance performances of European and American schools. This style of dancing was secretly prohibited at that time, because it contained many explicit elements. The girl borrowed videocassettes of American films from friends, from where she took ideas, carefully looked at the street dancers, and remembered something for herself. This is how the first works of the future choreographer Alla Dukhova were created little by little.

Fateful meeting

Once at a dance competition in Palanga, where our heroine’s team took part, an important meeting took place that changed future fate girls. It was then that they crossed paths with a dance group of guys who performed cool breakdancing. The guys called themselves “Todes”. Alla immediately appreciated their abilities and zeal for victory. Then the thought of reuniting these two talented teams came to her. The guys also appreciated the girls’ work; they liked the idea of creating a joint ballet. They took a boyish name - “Todes”.

From that moment on, Alla’s work became individual and different from many other ballets. It combined stylish breaking and feminine choreography. From that moment, serious changes began to occur in the life of Alla Vladimirovna Dukhovaya. In the choreographer’s biography, these events can be noted as the beginning of a new creative stage.

Beginning in 1987, our heroine was chosen as the official director of the newly created ballet. Every day it became more and more difficult to create performances; organizing productions was also not an easy task. The young guys and girls did not plan to stop surprising the viewer, so they gave it their all. We slept 5 hours a day and intensively rehearsed numbers before each performance.

First performances on the big stage

The debut performances, which took place in the North Caucasus, were a huge success, and the guys for a long time they didn’t want to let me leave the stage. Then the ballet was advised to give concerts in Moscow, which they were initially skeptical about. However, after consulting, they decide to try to conquer the capital. Alla Dukhova, whose biography by that time had already begun to interest fans of the group, continued to relegate children and personal life to the background. She devoted herself entirely to work.

While in Moscow, the dancers lived in a cramped dormitory and looked for suitable places for performances and rehearsals. Many difficulties arose on their way, including organizational issues. But fate was favorable to these guys, and one day they met Alexander Birman, who at that time was an employee of the Philharmonic in Riga.

Thanks to Alexander, “Todes” went to Chelyabinsk, where they were touring at that time famous performers: Igor Talkov, Sofia Rotaru and several musical groups. The ballet was staged to perform during breaks between celebrity performances. They received a sea of applause and after that gained their first popularity among the audience.

The first serious proposals for cooperation

Immediately after the concert, “Todes” received tempting offer from Sofia Rotaru to perform with her. The guys agreed, they accompanied the singer for five years at each of her concerts. Then the team decided to go free swimming. They had already gained sufficient popularity and were confident in their abilities. All members of the team considered that period to be a turning point in their lives. But working with Rotaru remained only one of their counts creative biography. From that moment on, photos of Alla Dukhova with ballet were often found on the covers of famous publications, which gave the participants strength and pushed them even more to work.

Anniversary concert of the group

“Todes” celebrated its fifth anniversary with its first solo concert. Igor Popov helped young ballet in organization and financing. After that, the guys received a sea of cooperation offers from such famous Russian stars, like Kristina Orbakaite, Valery Leontyev and Leonid Agutin. “Todes” could already afford to choose, but being wise people, they understood that they needed to take on any job. So, they had performances with Kirkorov, Dolina, Meladze and Bulanova.

Also "Todes" became the star of many music festivals, where he was received with thunderous applause and shouts of “Bravo.” They performed at “New Wave” and “Slavic Bazaar”.

The ballet considers the first and most memorable foreign concert in its career to be dance numbers on the same stage with legendary Michael Jackson in Munich and Seoul. They also performed with Ricky Martin and Mariah Carey in Monte Carlo.

Dance school

Since 1992, dance ballet has been noticeably gaining momentum in the development of its career and is appearing more and more often in people's sight and ears. After 5 years choreographic group has about 150 members and is loudly celebrating its tenth anniversary.

Over the years, more than one generation of dance talents has been lucky to work at Todes. The history of the development of ballet is very closely connected with the biography of Alla Dukhova.

The girl’s photos and personal life have always interested her fans. However, she was only busy with work.

Also in 1997, Dukhova rented a huge hall in Lefortovo for the first time. It was there that the first dance school Alla - "Todes". Over time, the ballet director began to open educational establishments in choreography in other cities: St. Petersburg and Riga were the first of them. After 10 years, there were Todes schools in every big city and small Russia and many CIS countries. Alla wanted to give this opportunity to everyone who wants to dance professionally.

Today, people who studied at the Dukhovaya school perform with world stars and are extremely popular. Ballet “Todes” has passed through its “hands” for more than one generation and remains the best of the best. One thing has remained unchanged - they still fill huge halls today and delight their fans around the world.

The current husband Anton is sympathetic to his wife’s profession. In addition, they are rarely separated. After all, my husband works in Alla’s team as a lighting director. Fans are always interested in the details of Alla Dukhova’s personal life and biography. Children and spouse treat this with understanding.

The eldest son (Vladimir) is married and lives in the USA. The younger one (Konstantin) is interested in dancing and performs in the Todes group.
