Once during the project, in episode 15, based on the results of audience voting, Ilshat was nominated for elimination and could leave the dance show. But in the end, out of two dancers - Dmitry Oleinikov and Ilshat - team coach Egor Druzhinin chose Ilshat and gave him a chance to further develop in “Dancing”. “In any case, the nomination is a shake-up. A huge motivator. Regardless of my experience, I still have a lot to work on... And on the project I understand this every time I defeat myself in something. When the concert ended, a reboot began for me, a rethinking of everything. I must no longer become limp and give up. We have already seen how the strongest dancers Arseny, Pena, Misha Evgrafov leave the project. And then for everyone the harsh reality is emptiness, no matter how you look at it. After all, for each of us, a project is life. And here we stand: me and Dima Oleinikov. For Yegor Druzhinin, Dima, I think, is the best dancer in the team and the best student, a brilliant plasticine who can dance everything, dance beautifully and with the right emotional mood. Dima, like each of us, really wanted to reach the final and win and, at a minimum, dance solo to show himself. I know how hard it is. When Egor put forward his verdict, I, realizing that I was moving on, felt what Dima was experiencing, which is why there was no joy or emotion on my face. There was inner despair and pain. I am grateful to Egor for giving me a chance to further prove myself in the project! And I ask him for forgiveness for this look, which many believe was arrogant and indifferent. The camera magnifies everything, and sometimes from the outside everything seems different than what is inside a person. I know that together with you I am ready for great achievements!”
In the next three episodes, viewers chose Ilshat as the best dancer of the week from Yegor Druzhinin’s team.
On December 31, 2014, the final of the “Dancing” show took place on the TNT channel. The winner was determined by the audience by voting. Ilshat became the best dancer in the country, second place was taken by Vitaly Savchenko, third by Adam, fourth by Alisa Dotsenko.

Tour
After the completion of the project, Ilshat, along with other main participants in the first season of “Dancing,” took part in a spring-summer tour called “The First Club Concert.” As part of the tour, the dancers gave concerts in 15 cities of Russia. The show took place in Moscow on March 20, 2015; the dancers traveled to other cities on May 22, giving concerts almost every day.
At the concerts, the dancers performed dances already known to the audience television broadcasts numbers, but with some adjustments. After graduating from school, Ilshat entered the cultural school in his native Orenburg (the family moved to the city when his son was 2 years old). Shabaev chose, of course, the choreography. After graduating from university, Ilshat decided to try his hand at getting a job in one of the legendary dance groups country - ensemble. Of course not! I saw the level of the guys, I understood that each had their own strong point, that they were all energetic, purposeful, ambitious and self-confident people. Everyone had a goal - to win. From the very beginning, I was rather determined that if I didn’t manage to reach the end, I would try to accept it.
- What did you want to say or prove with your participation?
Previously, when I watched the show “So you think you can dance,” I always wanted to plunge into the same atmosphere. There were no projects of this level in Russia at that time. When the chance to get into the “DANCE” project arose, I firmly decided to go through the casting. I wanted to work with choreographers, try the most various genres and directions, to prove yourself, to realize yourself, to be a student, completing all the assigned tasks. It was a lot of work for me. I worked on myself more than ever.
- What was this work?
Every week we were given new and always different choreography. It was necessary to quickly switch emotionally, physically and have time to prepare for the performances. 
There was always very little time, but we all tried very hard and gave our all.
If before the project there were moments when I could experience something emotionally vividly, here I tried to practice humility and restraint. He directed all his attention only to the production and did not waste his energy. After all, as soon as you start grasping at the little things, a chain reaction occurs and it all pulls you down. By stupidity, you can find yourself in an undesirable situation.
It felt like you were one of the calmest, most balanced and collected participants. How did you manage to enter such a state during moments of overload? And what is the practice of humility?
In life I am quite calm and taciturn. At some moments I simply took it and abstracted myself from what could emotionally knock me out. This needs to be understood and applied.
The practice of humility is that before you give any assessment and say it out loud, you need to count to ten. I just tried to think objectively, to realize what was going on in the project big job, everyone is tense, tired, and that this can take its toll on the nerves. When you are concentrated on calmness, you are, as it were, a little above this, switched only to what needs to be done here and now.

- You're in great physical fitness. How much time a day do you devote to training and rehearsals?
It all depends on the situation. When I have a lot of energy and free time, I can practice longer. But mostly I study hard before master classes, come up with something new, and compose.
It is important to maintain a balance of work and rest. If you are overtired, nothing good will come of it. It is even appropriate to allow yourself to do nothing for the whole day or change your environment. But at the same time, it is important to keep the thought in mind: in order to grow in one thing, it is advisable to practice daily, feeling the body, developing and honing your skills. If, for example, an actor went away for a year to an unknown destination, then when he returns, he may become even more fulfilled. But the dancer cannot afford such pauses. It's very easy to get out of shape.
-Is it true that you practiced different martial arts? Why did you choose dancing in the end?
Yes, for two years I completely went into sports: wushu, kung fu, boxing, swimming. It seems to me that many people in childhood have such a period of searching for themselves and going to classes. There are a lot of temptations around, so many interesting things are happening.
After a two-year pause, I consciously came to dance and never left it. This choice seemed to be sitting in the subconscious all this time. While studying different types sports, I constantly thought about dance. And one day a decision came.
My teacher came to my school, found me there and said: “We need you like air, in a week we are leaving for Moscow for international competition" I immediately answered “yes”, I had no objections or doubts, I was waiting for this sign from above.

Bykov Viktor Yakovlevich is my first teacher. He made me fall in love with dance and knew how to use healthy competition between boys in the right way. I am very grateful to him. By the way, we still meet to this day, he is proud of me, and I am proud of the fact that he met in my destiny.
Then, in Moscow, I got a second strong mentor - at the School of Contemporary Choreography by Alexander Shishkin. There I mastered such a direction as modern jazz, after which it was easy for me to get into the ensemble of the musical Notre-Dame de Paris. From that moment on, my dancing became versatile.
“Everyone’s mission is to create”
- Now you dance a lot in the contemporary style. Is this your favorite direction?
One of my favorites. I have always liked to look for myself in different styles, I was constantly learning something new: folk dance, classics, step, modern choreography, modern jazz, hip-hop. In the contemporary style, I was “hooked” by its absolute freedom; you can live on stage and feel the dance emotionally.
-I know that you also sing...
I have already mentioned the period when I worked in a musical as an ensemble artist. This position is given only to those who pass three levels of selection - dance, vocal and acting. For me it was a great school and a serious experience, as I learned to sing while working on the same platform with talented vocalists. Then I recorded tracks that were joint with my rapper friends and solo performances. Now I continue this practice, it is interesting to me and has turned into a kind of hobby. I hope it develops into something more serious.
But first of all, I am perceived as a dancer, and this is indeed the case. I will always be associated with dance. Perhaps in the future these two vectors will unite and some of my own productions and performances will appear. There is no limit to perfection in professional growth. For me good example in this regard - Yegor Druzhinin, who danced, and at the same time managed to stage performances as a director and choreographer in one person, and make films.
Human capabilities are enormous. We are dancers only because we pay the lion's share of attention to this area. If we had started now to engage in another type of art, we might have achieved no less success. It is important to love what you do, to work on yourself and your discipline. And faith, desires and dreams are an incentive that will make you move without stopping.
Movement is life! And in it you definitely need to show yourself, your talent, knowledge, skills, otherwise all this can go out very quickly.
- What about the mission, life purpose?
I think all this can be “packed” into one word - creation. Do good, do things that can make other people follow a bright path. For example, a project like “DANCE” makes many people think and, looking at this action, fall in love with dance. In any case, it makes life better: firstly, it is health, good metabolism; secondly, an emotional outburst; thirdly, the environment from talented people; fourthly, interesting ideas and projects.
I am glad that today dance is reaching a significant level, the attitude towards it is becoming more serious. There is no longer the concept of “dance”; people see and understand that this is a great opportunity to express themselves and develop.

Ilshat Shabaev is a dancer, choreographer, winner of the “DANCES” project on TNT.
Education. Mom brought Ilshat to choreography when he was four years old. He studied in the boys' group "Tap Dance". Then he studied at the Orenburg College of Culture. At the age of 18, he came to enter the MGUKI Institute in Moscow and studied at the Alexander Shishkin School of Contemporary Choreography.
Career. He completed an internship at the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble named after Igor Moiseev. He worked in the musicals Notre-Dame de Paris, “Love and Espionage”, “I Am Edmond Dantes”, “Chicago”. He collaborated with famous performers: Irakli, Sergei Lazarev, Vlad Topalov, Alsou and others. Worked under contract in Israel and China.
Performs in the following styles: LA, hip-hop, house, contemporary, krump, step dance.
