Since 2012 - Federal State Treasury Institution of Culture and Art “Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A. V. Alexandrov” of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
In accordance with the Order of the Mayor of Moscow dated September 24, 2012 No. 773-RM in front of the building of the Alexandrov Ensemble (Moscow, Zemledelchesky lane, building 20, building 1) on April 13, 2013, on the day of the 130th anniversary of the composer’s birth , Major General A.V. Alexandrova, was held solemn ceremony opening of the monument to A.V. Alexandrov (author of the monument, sculptor A.M. Taratynov, architect M.V. Corsi).
The ensemble's repertoire includes more than two thousand works. These are songs of Soviet/Russian authors, folk songs and dances, sacred music, classical works of Russian and foreign composers, masterpieces of world rock and pop music.
The ensemble and its artists have received many Soviet, Russian and international awards.

Since 2009, the ensemble has operated the “Alexandrov - PARK” variety group under the direction of the Honored Artist of Russia Vitaly Viktorovich Sotskov.

Conflict with the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Military Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the direction of V.P. Eliseev for touring abroad unreasonably added the phrase to its name Red Army (The Red Army Choir MVD Academic Ensemble or Academical Ensemble IF MIA RF Red Army), thereby misleading Western viewers who were confident that we're talking about about the world famous Alexandrov Ensemble (The Alexandrov Red Army Choir or The Alexandrov Red Army Ensemble). TASS DOSSIER. On December 25, 2016, a Tu-154 Russian Ministry of Defense aircraft en route to Syria crashed over the Black Sea near Sochi. Among those on board were 68 musicians of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A. V. Alexandrov. The Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A. V. Alexandrov of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is the largest military artistic group in Russia.
Story
The founding date of the ensemble is considered to be October 12, 1928. On this day, the first performance of the ensemble took place at the Central House of the Red Army (CDKA) in Moscow. Initially, it consisted of 12 people - eight singers, two dancers, an accordion player and a reader. In the same year, the ensemble was enrolled in the staff of the CDKA and was named the Red Army Song Ensemble of the Central House of the Red Army named after M. V. Frunze.
Already by the second half of the 1930s. The number of the ensemble increased to 274 people. In 1935, the group received the name Red Banner Ensemble of Red Army Song and Dance of the USSR. In 1937, the ensemble performed abroad for the first time at the World Exhibition in Paris.
During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. the team performed more than 1,500 performances in the active army.
In 1949, the ensemble was named after its founder A.V. Alexandrova. In 1979, the team received the title of academic.
Managers
The organizer and first musical director of the ensemble was a professor at the Moscow Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky, People's Artist of the USSR, composer, major general A.V. Alexandrov, who led the ensemble for 18 years.
From 1946 to 1987 the ensemble was led by his son, People's Artist of the USSR, Major General B.A. Alexandrov.
From April to December 2016, the ensemble was led by the former chief military conductor of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Khalilov. On December 25, 2016, he died in a plane crash over the Black Sea.
Ensemble today
To date, the ensemble's staff includes 186 people. Of these, nine soloists, a male choir (64 people), an orchestra (38 people), a mixed dance group (35 people). All members of the group have special musical and choreographic education.

Awards
Ensemble named after A.V. Alexandrova was twice awarded the Order of the Red Banner, the Order of Military Merit of the MPR (1964) and the Red Star (Czechoslovakia, 1965). The team also received a diploma International exhibition in Paris "Grand Prix" (1937), "Golden Discs" prizes for record runs of records from the French company "Chan du Monde" (1964), the Dutch "N.O.K." (1974) and "Golden Discus Thrower" (1961) from the French Recording Academy for the best record of the year.
