There will be, of course, but it will be an order of magnitude more difficult. You'll have to brush up on your multiplication tables and try your luck at solving tricky logic problems.

And some games for 8-year-old children will even turn you into a detective like Sherlock Holmes, arm you with a huge magnifying glass and ask you to solve several very strange crimes. For example, helping the smallest transformer Bumbley construct spaceship to fly to Cybertron. Or count with Master Splinter shortest way to the lair of the insidious Shredder. But keep in mind that without good mathematical preparation, ingenuity and logic, you cannot cope with any of the tasks described.

A characteristic feature of many parents is to constantly spoil their children with new toys. Buying puzzles or puzzles is not very economically justified; the child will quickly get tired of the fun and will have to purchase another new thing. Progress of the game. The bucket is placed at a distance of 1.5-2 m from the players, who stand one after another. The presenter thinks of a word (it is better if it is not short). Players take turns throwing snowballs into the basket. If a player hits, then he has the right to find out one letter of the word, and if he misses, he moves to the “tail” of the queue, and his place is taken by the player standing behind him. The presenter gradually “gives out” one letter at a time. The game continues until the entire word is guessed. The winner is the player who was the first to name the word chosen by the leader. After this, the adult thinks of a new word, and the game resumes.

Note. If children 8 years old are playing, then the leader can be chosen among the players, and the winner of the game can become the leader himself.

Since this is a snowball game, it can be called a winter game, but by and large it can be played at any time of the year - both outdoors and indoors: snowballs can be replaced with tennis balls.

School of politeness

Age: 7-8 years.

Purpose of the game: teach your child the basics of etiquette. In addition, the game expands lexicon children.

Necessary equipment: a piece of plasticine into which sticks (matches) are stuck. There should be at least 15-20 sticks.

Progress of the game(two or three players can participate in the game at the same time). The presenter announces that he is opening a school of politeness, in which everyone can learn how to become well-mannered. After this the game begins. Each participant in the game must say some polite word. For each word he has the right to pull out one stick. As soon as the supply of polite words is exhausted, the game ends. The one who collects the most sticks, that is, says the most polite words, wins.

Mailbox

Age: 7.5-8 years.

Purpose of the game: teach children the culture of written communication, consolidate the writing skills acquired at school. The game broadens children's horizons and promotes the development of imagination.

Necessary equipment: mailbox (you can make it yourself from an ordinary box).

Progress of the game(it is best played at home with a child). The presenter (adult) invites the child to go on a trip. It could be imaginary fairy world, and the journey to real place(for example, the usual summer route to visit grandma in the village). The child’s task is to write letters to an adult in which he will share his impressions of his journey. The letters are placed in the mailbox, the adult takes them out and reads them. Letters are written until the travel route is completely completed. After this, the adult “meets” the child from the “trip” and talks about how interesting the letters were.

Note. As you can see, in this game it is not so much the result that is important (strictly speaking, there is absolutely no element of competition in it), but rather the process itself. This game is very good to play in the summer: during the holidays, first-graders, due to the lack of regular practice, usually have worse writing skills. The game is convenient because during it the adult can calmly do household chores, while the child is busy with an interesting and exciting activity - describing his imaginary journey.

If the “traveler” is an 8-year-old child, then the game can be complicated by using geographical map: along it, together with an adult, the “traveler” draws his route (simple at first) and then describes his impressions based on his knowledge of other countries. In this case, in addition to written communication skills, the child also receives basic knowledge of geography.

You can also play the game with your child younger age(5-6 years old), if he already knows how to read and write a little. You can put letters addressed to him in the mailbox (for example, from a favorite toy or fairy tale character): we are sure that the child will rejoice at such messages, and learning to read and write will no longer be a problem.

Calendar

Age: 6 - 7 years.

Purpose of the game: teach children to navigate time, correctly naming its constituent “parts” (time of day, days of the week, seasons).

Necessary equipment: cards with words written on them indicating the seasons, time of day (there should be as many sets of cards as there are players involved).

Progress of the game(you can play it both at home with your child and with the whole group in kindergarten). The host (adult) hands out cards to the players and asks them to pick up the correct card when asked. Then he begins to read the text (see below). After reading the text, children must pick up the card that says keyword. The most attentive one is declared the winner. It is advisable to devote the game to one theme, for example, “Seasons” or “Time of day”. The texts can be very different: these are excerpts from prose and poetic works with descriptions of the time of year or time of day, as well as riddles. However, you can not read the texts, but list the signs of a particular time of year or day, for example:

1) wake up, wash, have breakfast (morning);

2) work, study, play, have lunch (day);

3) dad and mom are returning from work, and we are returning from kindergarten (evening)\

4) go to bed (night).

Another option:

1) the sun rises, it gets brighter, the birds wake up (morning);

2) it’s light outside (day)\

3) it gets dark, the sun sets (evening)

4) it’s dark outside (night).

Option about seasons:

1) it’s snowing, cold (winter);

2) the snow is melting, the first leaves appear on the trees, birds are singing (spring);

3) the sun is shining brightly, it’s hot outside, flowers are blooming (summer);

4) the leaves turn yellow, fall off, and it rains often (autumn).

Note. If the players are not yet fully able to read, then the words on the cards can be supplemented with corresponding pictures.

Fun week

Age: 7 - 8 years.

Purpose of the game: teach children to remember the sequence of days of the week. The game develops attention and intelligence, the ability to navigate in time.

Necessary equipment: cards with the names of the days of the week.

Progress of the game. The presenter (adult) places cards on the stand with the names of the days of the week in random order, after which the selected player must place them in the correct sequence. After this, the presenter complicates the task: after shuffling the cards and arranging them in random order, he quietly removes one of the cards. In this case, players will have to not only remember and reproduce the correct sequence of days of the week, but also establish which one is missing and where exactly its place is in the chain of other days of the week. The player who gave the most correct answers wins.

Greater than, less than or equal to

Age: 5-7 years.

Purpose of the game: Introduce children to basic math concepts such as greater than, less than, and equal to. The game develops logical thinking and mathematical abilities.

Necessary equipment: two identical trays or small tables, various items(cubes, books, pencils, papier-mâché vegetables), cardboard cards depicting mathematical signs<, >, =, unequal.

Progress of the game. The presenter (educator, teacher, parents) explains to the children the concepts of “equal”/“unequal”, “more”/“less”. After this the game begins. The presenter lays out cubes or books on a tray and asks the children to determine whether they have an equal or unequal number of objects. Then the correct card (= or unequal) should be placed between the trays.

When the children correctly determine the number of objects on two trays, the presenter asks them to show where there are more things and where there are less, after which he places a card with the sign > or<. Для каждого желающего поучаствовать в игре ведущий формулирует новую задачу, заменяет одни предметы на подносах другими, добавляет новые, убирает старые.

Note. Children of preschool and primary school age often confuse the signs “greater than” and “less than”, since they are written almost identically. To help children avoid this mistake, use a method that has been tested many times in practice: draw the children’s attention to the fact that both signs (> and<)
