Closing ceremony of the festival of youth and students. The main topic of the final day of the festival of youth and students in Sochi will be Russia

SOCHI, October 21 – RIA Novosti. The largest youth event ends on Saturday in Sochi: the official closing ceremony of the XIX century will be held at the Bolshoi Ice Palace World Festival youth and students, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part.

The festival officially opened in Sochi last Sunday. In total, according to the organizers, 25 thousand people from 188 countries of the world took part in it, as well as five thousand volunteers. Initially it was planned that the number of participants would be 20 thousand, but it arrived larger number guests.

"The president Russian Federation V.V. Putin will take part in the closing of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students,” the Kremlin press service previously reported.

For a whole week, Russian and foreign guests listened to lectures from leading experts in one field or another, asked questions to politicians and ministers, took part in foresight sessions and master classes, and listened to concerts famous musicians, went ice skating and even watched the Falcons of Russia air show. The topics of lectures and panel discussions touched on six topics that are relevant to all humanity: ecology, poverty, education, energy, information and science. These were the themes that were revealed during the show at the opening ceremony of the festival.

The closing day of the festival is also notable for the fact that it will be dedicated to Russia Day. Previously, the festival hosted days of the Middle East, Europe, America, Asia and Oceania.

Among the “star” guests with whom the participants spoke were: French writer Frederic Beigbeder, motivational speaker Nick Vujicic, as well as famous athletes and models, actors and directors, singers and musicians. Also popular were Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Duma Committee on international affairs Leonid Slutsky - there were long queues for panel discussions with them, and afterward the participants did not let go of the speakers for a long time, taking selfies with them.

After the opening, Putin still had time to have a long conversation with the participants, and on Thursday communicate with them in a more informal setting. After his speech at the final meeting of the Valdai Club, he went into the cafe where the participants were relaxing and talked with them.

60 years have passed since Russia first became the host of the World Festival (as part of the USSR). History repeated itself in 1985, and both times the palm branch went to Moscow. But this time Sochi received the right to host the festival, where the main events took place in the Olympic Park.

Last Saturday, Moscow welcomed an equally large-scale event: in the capital, to commemorate the start of the festival, a 35,000-strong column of Russian students and 450 delegates from all over the world marched in a solemn procession from Vasilyevsky Spusk to the Luzhniki sports complex. The procession presented the best world carnival traditions, including Venetian, Brazilian and Indian. In the evening in the Russian capital there was festive concert, and the events ended with festive fireworks.

The first World Festival of Youth and Students took place in 1947 in Prague. Until now, it is considered the longest in the history of the festival movement - almost six weeks. The first festival in Moscow, in 1957, also distinguished itself: it was the largest in history - 34 thousand people from 131 countries.

The closing ceremony of the World Festival of Youth and Students is taking place in Sochi. The closing ceremony of the festival began at the Bolshoi Ice Palace in Sochi. Russian President Vladimir Putin was at the event.

The culmination will be fireworks, which will be launched to music specially written for the festival at a frequency of more than 10 shots per second.

Festival of Youth and Students in 2017 in Moscow

The XIX World Festival of Youth and Students takes place simultaneously in Moscow and Sochi. This is the third festival held in Russia.

The idea of holding world festivals of youth and students arose after the end of the Second World War. The organizers were the World Federation of Democratic Youth and the International Union of Students.

Festival of Youth and Students in 2017: latest news from the WFMS

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the opening of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students. He noted that barriers are powerless before friendship, and human communication does not depend on political, national and religious differences.

The opening began with the performance of the Russian anthem. About 10,000 people were present in the hall. The ceremony was prepared by the production center of Igor Krutoy.

The World Youth Festival takes place in Sochi from October 14 to 22, with approximately 20,000 people aged 18 to 35 from 150 countries taking part.

Festival events will be held in 16 more cities of Russia. On Saturday, a carnival parade took place in Moscow. Because of this, streets and alleys from Ilyinka to Luzhniki, overlooking Prechistenskaya, Frunzenskaya and Luzhnetskaya embankments, were blocked in the capital.

Sneakers. Jeans. Rock'n'roll. All this firmly became fashionable during the Moscow festival. Badminton has also become popular. For this game you needed very little - a couple of rackets and a shuttlecock - it was then made of feathers. This shuttlecock soared into the Moscow sky. Like flocks of pigeons.

"Love and pigeons". Vladimir Menshov will make a film with this title much later. But “Love and Doves” is also about the 1957 Festival of Youth and Students.

At that time, 40 thousand pigeons were released at Luzhniki, recalls Oleg Kuznetsov. Now he is the deputy chairman of the Moscow Club of Pigeon Fans, and in 1957 he was the secretary of the Komsomol of the workshop.

He was present at both the opening and closing of the festival. So I remember those feelings well: brotherhood, getting to know foreign students, young people from all over the world,” he says.

Pablo Picasso created the drawing of the Dove of Peace even before the Moscow festival. But it was in the Soviet capital that the festival (video about its history -) had another symbol - the daisy. Kuznetsov also took part in that competition:

Fedya Fedyunin worked as a turner in our workshop. So he decided to take part in the development of the emblem. The guys and I helped him. They came up with a globe with rising rays, like from the sun. As a result, the third prize was awarded for this project. Awarded! We received 100 rubles and a radio.

Chamomile was invented by the artist Konstantin Kuzginov. He worked on sketches at the dacha, where flowers were blooming with might and main. The chamomile core reminded him Earth, and the petals are the five continents.

Chamomile is a popular plant, says Alexey Reteum, director of the Apothecary Garden in Moscow. - At least dozens of species grow on almost all continents. In addition, daisies are called not only chamomiles in their pure form, but also several genera of other asteraceous plants. It's almost a collective name. And even the plant itself, which appears in people’s minds when they hear the word chamomile, is in fact a nivaria.

And it is no coincidence that he (or she) became a symbol, because, according to Retheum, such a flower suggests closer relationships between people.

A lot has also been said about close relationships with guests of the Moscow festival. It's no coincidence stable expression In those years, “children of the festival” appeared. It is generally accepted that the 1957 festival caused the first mass appearance of mixed-race Russians and mulatto Russians.

The festival took place in Moscow, and my favorite song was about evenings near Moscow. True, the song of Vasily Solovyov-Sedoy and Mikhail Matusovsky was born in Moscow alleys. There is even a memorial plaque on one of the houses in Sivtsev Vrazhk, which reminds of “those summer evenings near Moscow.”

Vladimir Bolnykh is a gramophone restorer. So he starts a record with that very song.

The song “Moscow Nights,” as far as I know, won first prize at the festival,” he says. - The song is wonderful. Both the contestants and the audience liked it. This is the secret of her success. That festival influenced the development of fashion in the Soviet Union and everyday life. Then the door opened slightly. People began to strive for something, learn something new, copy something, says Vladimir.

Sculptural composition "Peace to the World!" on Pirogovskaya Street - not a copy.

The sculptor Savitsky created it especially for the festival. And initially it consisted of three figures.

Two athletes - an Asian and an African - survived. But the relationship with the European girl - there was also a third figure, a female one - ended up being upset. Europe was not kidnapped, it simply could not stand it and “left.”

The renewed Europe did not return here even after 60 years to the new festival. Apparently, we will have to wait for the Thaw.

Thousands of participants and volunteers in bright uniforms with the symbols of the festival gather at main stage Olympic Park for the main event of the whole week - the “Russia” show. Behind the scenes are the final preparations: the dancers straighten their kokoshniks and weave ribbons into their braids, the vocalists warm up their cords before performing national motifs. Among the spectators there are especially many foreigners who are clearly impatient. Of course, today is their chance to see all the multinational flavor of the largest country in the world on one stage.

In Cuba we are accustomed to thinking that Russian traditions include ditties, balalaikas and red and white sundresses,” Claudia Martinez Duran shares her expectations. – But the Russian guys I met during the festival claim that this is only a small part of your culture. And the customs of the inhabitants of Siberia or the Caucasus are completely different. It's hard to believe, but we'll see now!

To the stormy applause of the audience, the show of the peoples of Russia opens with a traditional Russian dance. To the round dances against the backdrop of electronic decorations with Khokhloma paintings, guests begin to dance, and in simple folk songs Southern District - sing along together. Virtuoso playing in Tuvan string instrument ikile literally puts the audience into a trance. Guests especially like Armenian duduk combined with rock drums: young people can make everything modern.

I've heard music like this before, but I could never even imagine that it was part of Russian culture, - Islam Ilsadek from Egypt shares his impressions. – Everything is completely different, dissimilar. And at the same time, the inhabitants of your country manage to live in peace and harmony, to be one united nation. Believe me, it's worth a lot.

The concert of cultures and peoples of hospitable Russia is replaced by performances by foreign pop stars and show business. Nate James sends his fiery greetings from the UK, igniting the audience with melodic blues. Meanwhile, dancers parade in the background national costumes countries participating in the festival, presented at Fashion Week in Sochi. Christian Kostov, a participant in the show “The Voice” and the representative of Bulgaria at Eurovision 2017, amazes the hearts of girls with his voice. And no one can contain the storm of emotions from the music of the Dutch performer Rochelle.

We made this festival successful together with you,” announces First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration, head of the Russian organizing committee of the festival Sergei Kiriyenko. “And the most important thing is that it turned out to be alive and real.” Thanks to all participants from Russia for their hospitality, warmth and kindness towards our foreign guests. The sports and cultural program was held at an excellent level. And let every foreigner remember that true friends are waiting for him in Russia.

But the closing of such a grandiose event should justify all the most sophisticated expectations. Therefore, the culmination of the evening becomes a mass action, for which the participants have been preparing throughout the week. At the main stage, to the festival anthem performed by Alexey Vorobyov, several thousand participants perform synchronously main dance pm – “Love is all that matters.” A burst of energy loud ovation and the applause does not subside for a very long time. And exactly at midnight, the festive fireworks in the sky above the Olympic Park means: the World Festival of Youth and Students is over.

DIRECT SPEECH

Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation:

The festival week in Sochi is coming to an end. But I am sure that it benefited the 30 thousand young people who came to our country from all over the world. Thank you for trusting us. I congratulate everyone who took an active part in the festival events. I know that an absolutely unusual energy reigned here. This is the energy of the young. I am sure that when you leave Russia, you leave a piece of your heart here. We believe in you. The future begins here and now.

Veniamin Kondratyev, Head of Administration of the Krasnodar Territory:

Even though our holiday ends today, I hope you will continue to communicate with each other for many, many decades to come. The XIX World Festival of Youth and Students was the best and most numerous in its history. Yes, we speak different languages, we have different skin color and religion. But it is precisely this dissimilarity, this diversity that makes our world more beautiful.

Sputnik, Alexey Stefanov.

Saturday was the last day of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students. There were very few lectures and discussions, everyone was waiting for the official closing of the event - they were preparing for two concerts in the Olympic Park. But shortly before they started, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the festival and took part in a discussion on the topic “Youth 2030. Image of the Future.”

Putin: Russia will remain in your heart

The head of Russia sat in the hall with the students, listened to the speeches, and at the end took the floor and said that those who will succeed in the future will be those “who not only have deep knowledge, but are also able to think creatively and work in a team.” About what is scarier atomic bomb could be the creation of a person with given characteristics, since, along with a brilliant mathematician or musician, this “can also be a military man - a person who will fight without fear, feelings of compassion and regret, without pain.” That competitive advantages in the future, those people who not only have a set of interesting and important knowledge, but “creative, planning and other types of thinking” will receive it.

“The future begins here, and the future is you. I am sure that when you leave Russia, you will leave a piece of your heart here. But Russia will always remain in your heart. We believe in you,” Putin concluded.

Russian songs for friends from Africa

In the meantime, the President of Russia was speaking at the Main Media Center, on the open area of Medals Plaza it began great show"Russia". The concert organizers thought that in this century social networks young people perceive information faster in this format. Therefore, on the huge screens near the stage between performances of groups from all over Russia, correspondence in instant messengers of festival participants, photos from Instagram and videos from Youtube were displayed on the screen.

But this humorous interruption was, of course, only part of the show program. The main emphasis was on the performance of groups with a national flavor from different parts of Russia. And to make it easier for foreigners, and even Russian youth, to navigate where this or that ensemble came from in Sochi, the names of cities appeared on the screens one after another, some of them were described in more detail, after which the name of the federal district appeared.

The youth gathered in the square reacted very vividly to these districts and cities - one could even guess in which exact corner of the Medals Plaza site students from Moscow, Vladikavkaz, Elista, Ryazan or Novosibirsk were located at that moment.

And where the foreign youth came from could be understood either by the national flags they wrapped themselves in as they walked around the square, or by the T-shirts and sweatshirts on which the names of cities and countries were written. However, at the end of the show everything got mixed up - the students swapped both flags and clothes. Already in the twilight you could easily see a guy in a “Yaroslavl Region” sweatshirt surrounded by friends, and when you came closer you realized that these were representatives of a distant African country.

Under Russian folk choir named after E. Popov, students from China famously danced, and a large round dance accompanied by the performance of the State Academic Kuban Cossack choir with squat dancing was organized by students from Africa. And I must say, they danced very masterfully.

"Friends, now you know what it is to live in Russia in the 21st century, to enjoy modern technologies. We hope that you will soon see all the corners of our country that we showed today with your own eyes!” the presenter’s voice sounded from the speakers, after which he invited all the performers to the stage, and the singer Zara performed the song “Wide is my native country,” which was picked up by the audience .

It's been an amazing week

The main show of the World Festival of Youth and Students, which was supposed to be the final chord of the week-long marathon, took place in the Bolshoi Ice Palace adjacent to Medals Plaza.

Young people began to flow there. When all ten thousand seats were occupied, the audience put on their hands the interactive bracelets already known from the opening, which light up synchronously, blink to the beat of the music and create the illusion of lighters or flashlights in the dark hall, the countdown began.

At number one, the spotlights illuminated the central podium, where musicians and singers gathered this time. But not visiting stars, as was the case during the opening ceremony of the festival, but the participants of the Festival of Youth and Students themselves. For the first time in the history of such events, this Music band was formed precisely during the festival. It included talented young people from Russia, China, Argentina, Italy and other countries, and the leadership of the orchestra was taken over by brothers Alexander and Nikita Pozdnyakov, participants of the first season of the Voice competition. For a week they rehearsed world rock hits in order to present their work at the closing of the largest event of the year.

“We speak different languages, but we are connected by a common desire to make the world a better place,” said the presenter, after which the speakers who came to Sochi this week began to appear on the screen one after another.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov, saxophonist Igor Butman, CEO of the World Fund wildlife(WWF) Marco Lambertini, Russian grandmaster Sergei Karyakin, professional skateboarder Steve Berra, Secretary General of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Fatma Samoura, actor Vladimir Menshov...

They all said that the festival presented a picture of the world - representatives different countries and nationalities, called for healthy image life and playing sports, striving for a dream, but at the same time living in the present as if it were the most priceless gift, and Vladimir Menshov asked to keep the impressions of this holiday in his soul, as he did 60 years ago, when he spent the same time at the first festival of youth and students, which took place in Russia.

And then the concert itself began. In between songs, the presenter spoke about the tradition that was established at that very festival in Moscow in 1957, when young poets read their poems. And he suggested continuing the baton. Then it was Andrei Voznesensky, Bella Akhmadulina and Bob Dylan, and now Artem Novichenkov, Nika Simonova, Veniamin Borisov and others.

Participant from Brazil Enrique Dominguez gave a heartfelt speech in which he expressed words of gratitude to the organizers and volunteers of the festival.

"It was an amazing week. Here in Sochi, I felt the strength of millions of people who live and unite their efforts. I have no doubt that new world will be built by the hands of youth. Nothing ends with us, but just begins. Let’s build our lives together!” he urged.

The head of the directorate for the preparation and conduct of the WFMS, Ksenia Razuvaeva, also thanked the volunteers, who noted that the festival’s volunteer team became “the largest team of volunteers of all non-sporting events in the entire history of the volunteer movement." In their uniform blue clothes, volunteers also stood at the foot of the stage at the closing ceremony of the festival, dancing and calling for live waves from the spectators in the stands.

In Russia people don't hug bears

One of the touching moments of the show was the performance of a festival participant, a professional musician from Chad, Ndolegulom Jasrabe Hervé.

He told his story poor family, the desire to grow up and help parents and all the children of Chad, which is why I chose this profession, and also about the young people of the country who have practically no opportunity to access the Internet, about the feeling of loneliness and isolation from the rest of the world. Even the disc with his song, before it got to the festival, Herve had to transfer through several friends so that it would get to Moscow.

"We are scattered around the world, but we are united and can solve our problems together. Hello, Russia!" - this is his perky song on native language and became unofficial anthem festival And the composition was chosen as the official anthem Russian musician, actor and director Alexei Vorobyov.

When a UN volunteer came on stage and began to talk about how she had come to Sochi to become one of five thousand volunteers, some conversations swept through the hall, the audience began to turn around and peer at the figure of a man who appeared on the VIP stand near domes.

It turned out that Vladimir Zhirinovsky came to watch the closing of the festival, although at first it looked like he had come to Sochi to show himself - he stood for a long time and waved his hands to everyone. And even the volunteers near the stage responded in kind. Because of this, the performance of the foreign participant turned out to be a little blurry. However, with the first chords of the next hit, they forgot about the politician.

It was also interesting to listen to short interviews with participants from European, Asian and African countries, which were shown on screens. They were sincerely surprised that in Russia “there are no stern, healthy men wearing earflaps” who “walk around hugging polar bears”, that everywhere is not gloomy and dirty, but clean and cultured, and that the Hollywood image of Russians is completely untrue .

And the concert ended with Leonard Cohen's song "Hallelujah", the audience sadly began to leave the ice arena, but another small surprise awaited them on the street. On open stage Medals Plaza hosted another disco concert, which ended at midnight with a grandiose festive fireworks display.
