Building a hidden trap in Minecraft. Instructions and examples of the best traps in Minecraft

Traps in Minecraft are a “cheat” way of killing another player and taking over his resources, so they are prohibited on decent servers. Although they can be used to kill mobs, they are most often used to eliminate players, as they can provide more loot.

If you are not familiar with these devices and do not know how to make them, then below is a list of the most popular designs, as well as methods for creating them.

Trap based on a sliding block

To make it, you need to have a pressure plate, a piston and one lava bucket in your inventory. This is the simplest design that requires a minimum of resources, but it has a huge drawback - it requires restoration after each use.

Installation process:

  • dig a hole in front of the door (three blocks deep);
  • pour lava there;
  • With right side install the piston;
  • on the left side you need to leave space for the block;
    close the pit and install the pressure plate.

It works simply: standing on the slab, the player launches the piston, which pushes the block into left side and the victim falls down into the hot lava, in which she herself and all her equipment burns.

Trap based on sliding blocks

To make it, you will need one redstone, one switch, a redstone torch and two sticky pistons.

First of all, we dig a hole into which the player will fall, after which we prepare a place on the left side for redstone and pistons. A torch is installed behind the block with the switch, and the redstone is connected to the pistons.

When the player stands on the blocks, the owner of the house will only have to press the lever, and the victim will fall down. If suddenly some part of the trap creation process is unclear to you, you can watch a video with detailed step-by-step instructions.

Dynamite trap in Minecraft

To make it you need a loose block and dynamite with a pressure plate.

Installation is simple: a hole is dug, dynamite is laid, followed by a loose block, and all this is closed with a pressure plate. It works like this: when the victim approaches the door, an explosion occurs and the character flies down. As a result, he takes damage from both falling and explosions.

The disadvantage of this trap in Minecraft is that the explosion may destroy neighboring blocks. To avoid this, the pit must be lined with obsidian.

Collision Trap

Compound: redstone torch, pressure plate, redstone and 4 sticky pistons.

To make it, you need a hole two blocks wide and as deep as possible. On the left we install pistons that will be closed using blocks. After them there is a door, in front of which there should be a pressure plate. After this, we connect the redstone to the pistons, and to the right of the pit we install 2 pistons, so that when they are turned on, the pit is closed with blocks, and when turned off, it opens.

At the next stage of construction, you need to pass the signal through the redstone block, install a torch, and connect it to the pistons on the right side. The result will be an active plume and inactive dust.

When constructing such a trap, there will be an empty space on the right in the corridor, which can arouse suspicion and scare away the victim. For greater effect, you need to install an additional 4 pistons and use them, thanks to which the entire wall will move away, and this will not arouse suspicion.

The construction method seems complicated at first glance, but after watching the video, you will quickly understand everything.

Trap chest

It's no secret that it works the moment the victim looks through the contents of the chest, and that's where the whole trick lies. The installation process is also quite simple: we place the chest in such a way that it can only be approached from the front, and dig a hole in front of it.

After this, we install a sticky piston opposite - it should close the hole with a block when active. The next step is to bring the redstone to the piston so that it is constantly in an activated state. To do this, a torch is installed on the block, from which the signal will disappear when the victim activates the chest, and this will deactivate the piston.

How the trap works: the victim approaches the chest in order to search it, but instead of being rewarded, she will fall into the abyss.

Now you know how to build traps. As you can see, everything is very simple. Construction will take a little time and resources.

So, if you cannot simultaneously keep every entrance and exit from enemy invasion, you can safely set traps there. Using a series of sticky pistons and a simple mechanism to create tripwires in a pre-dug deep hole, you can easily trap and even kill any enemy, animal or skeleton that dares to encroach on your fortress in .

We do everything right

If you did everything correctly, such a trap will be fatal to the victim. But, since the trap is based on a complex system, which at a certain moment activates a certain mechanism, during the construction of the trap itself a lot of work needs to be done and many nuances must be taken into account, such as the delay time of the repeater and the sequence of pistons. Follow these guidelines, and in no time at all your hidden trap will be ready to send “uninvited guests” into the bedrock layer.

Mechanism for creating stretch marks

The stretching mechanism consists of two tension sensors and a thread connecting them. In this trap, the sensors can be hidden in any accessible recesses of the block, while the thread itself will be practically invisible. The way the tripwire works is simple: when a mob or another player steps on the thread, the tripwire is triggered, then current flows through the back of the mechanism, turning off the red torch and deactivating the front of the chain. After this, the tripwire will remain intact again until the next intruder falls into the same trap.

Redstone circuits

Redstone circuits can be divided into two parts. The front part controls the pistons and is powered by a red flame. The back connects to the stretch mechanism discussed above. These two sections are separated by blocks on which a red torch is installed, which is used in the game to activate various mechanisms. In this case, the red torch acts as an intermediary between the two sections, indicating that they will never be activated at the same time.

Repeaters and clocks

The red repeater can be modified by the player to create a delay in the Redstone signal being triggered in the circuit. As you know, the delay of the red repeater is 1 Redstone clock cycle (that’s two game clocks). In Minecraft, this figure can be increased to 4 ticks of Redstone, but no more. In this circuit, repeaters delay signals in various mechanisms, hence they will fire in different time, thereby allowing the player to create more complex systems pistons.

Ordered pistons

When an "intruder" enters the trap, it interrupts the current in the pistons at the front of the trap, and they begin to move. The repeater delays the current in the pistons, creating a sequence: the upper vertical pistons close first, aligning them and four more floors of stone-brick slab blocks in line with the horizontal pistons. As soon as the vertical pistons are activated, the horizontal block mechanisms are deactivated, while the vertical pistons and brick slab blocks are pulled into one line, revealing a massive cliff below. When the mechanism is activated again, the process proceeds reverse side, replacing the floors of stone-brick slab blocks.

Masking the trap

Now that the mechanism is built, you need to properly hide the trap. The mechanism goes 3 blocks deep, it is 10 blocks wide and 8 blocks long, therefore, it must be placed in a pit of the appropriate size under the hall or room, which will later serve as a trap. The pit under the vertical pistons can be as deep as the player wishes, and it can also optionally be filled with either lava or cacti to cause more damage to the enemy when they fall.

Translation of the manual from the book Exploded Builds: Medieval Fortress.

Minecraft is a universal game, the functionality of which allows you to fully experience the atmosphere real life. You not only build own world, but also must protect him. Therefore, in the game there is some analogue of the alarms that are used in real world to catch thieves - traps. These devices perform very diverse roles, they can serve as a building element or help the player catch a monster or griefer who is so eager to ruin the game and destroy your property. We will look at all types of traps existing in the game.

To begin with, it should be noted that traps do not provide complete safety for everything you have acquired. After all, their varieties have long been known to many and they know how to get around them. Now let's talk about who griefers are. Everyone in childhood was faced with such a situation when, playing in the sandbox with friends, you built castles, but there was a person who came and destroyed all the built structures just for fun. So, this is an analogue of griefers. They also aim to wantonly destroy everything that has been built. They are also often called trolls. These players are very sneaky and cunning, so they always try to act on the sly. The only way to get rid of these is to use traps. Today’s article will be about them.

How to make a trap in Minecraft 1.5.2?

The first type of trap will allow you to imprison the griefer in the walls and not give him the opportunity to move. The essence of the method is simple. To make it you will need 4 doors and a pressure plate. The material used for manufacturing does not play a special role. But it's better to use something durable, like metal. He can hold the griefer. We place the pressure plate in the place chosen for installing the trap. Then we place plate ribs under each door. For camouflage, you can create corridors. The design itself is somewhat reminiscent of a swastika. It works as follows: when entering one of the doors, the griefer activates a pressure plate that closes the door. After this it will be impossible to open it.

To use the second method, you will need the following list of rare items: one red flint, eight fence blocks, four pistons and one pressure plate. After collecting all the components, you can begin. First, we dig a cross-shaped hole two blocks deep. In the center, at the intersection of two straight lines, we place a red flint, and on the sides we place pistons. Next, we take the fence and place it on the pistons, and leave one block in the center. We place the remaining fence blocks in the corners. The end result should be something similar to a square. The essence of the trap is that after someone activates the pressure block, fences will rise, blocking further movement. But, unfortunately, such a trap only works on mobs.

The mechanics of the Minecraft game provide a huge number of traps, the choice of which is limited by your imagination and what you have in your inventory. The more complex the trap, the more complex and less accessible ingredients it will require. In addition, traps differ in purpose. Some are worth using to catch creatures, some are only good for guarding your treasures.

How to make a trap in Minecraft
Trap Chest- nothing more than an alarm that is installed on the chest with your favorite treasures. But first, this same chest needs to be made, for which you will need eight boards, which must be placed in the crafting window in the shape of a square. Then you will need to make a tension sensor; for this you need to acquire an iron ingot, boards, and a stick. To get the desired item, place the specified items horizontally in the middle part of the crafting window. Then you need to assemble the trap. To do this, connect two objects, and there should be a chest in front.

Mousetrap- a trap in the full sense of the word, which should be used to catch a monster. Externally, the trap looks very effective, as it is a strong wooden box with an equally strong door. To make this trap, you will need to create four doors from six planks and six iron ingots, placing them throughout the center and left side of the crafting window. You will also need to create a pressure plate, which will require two boards and two stones. They will take up the entire lower right side of the crafting window.

Once the components are ready, the pressure plate should be placed on the ground in the area where you want to create a trap and place doors around it. Moreover, they must stand vertically. In addition, each door will face one of the parts of the world - north, south, west, east. Next you should show your imagination - the doors will need to be disguised.
The principle of operation of the trap is extremely simple. If the victim steps on the pressure plate, the doors slam shut, preventing them from escaping.

Floor with a surprise- a somewhat more complicated trap in comparison with a mousetrap, but no less effective, for the manufacture of which you will need: four pistons, a red stone, a pressure plate, and eight fence blocks. How to make these items was described above, so there is no need to repeat yourself, but it is better to go straight to the description of the manufacturing process.

The first thing to do is dig a cross-shaped depression in the ground and place a red stone in the center of it. In addition, there should be a piston in the recess on each side. Then the pistons need to be covered with fence blocks. The red stone will also need to be covered. It’s up to you to decide what. This can be any block. The trap is ready.
