Best games 2017 | Main nominations

No matter how much the developers improve the AI, they have not yet come up with opponents better than real people. Of course, there are already bots that play chess, Go, and even better than anyone else. "Dota". But still, for the most part, it’s more pleasant for us to play against other people - cunning, resourceful, unpredictable and at the same time imperfect.

The same applies to partners - in many games it is difficult to perceive computer dummies as anything other than just fire support for your loved one. In addition, there is often simply no time to command them. Another thing is a living partner with whom you can coordinate actions by voice, cover each other and enjoy victories together.

So, we present the top best games that are much more interesting to play with friends.

Third place. Destiny 2

The story campaign of the second Destiny can be run alone - in this regard, it is almost no different from other single-player action games. But the developers paid the main attention to the network mode. You won't just meet other players here, you'll be much more effective in the company. Running with your comrades, you will be able to constantly cover each other and attack the strongest enemy in a crowd, destroying him in a matter of seconds. And in open world areas, you don't even need to form a squad.

Thanks to this the world Destiny 2 replete with unexpected and pleasant situations. For example, you can break your teeth against some particularly strong enemy for a long time, until a pumped-up player running past helps you, who takes his mind off his high-level affairs for a couple of minutes.

In addition, Destiny 2 fairly rewards each participant in combat, even if their contribution is limited to a single accurate shot, which makes mutual assistance not only enjoyable, but also useful. Despite this, there are almost no cunning people here who run around the map, shooting at each target once. People come to Destiny 2 to shoot a lot and enjoy the process. And if someone gets involved in a battle, he, most likely, will want to see it to the end - the game mechanics work so temptingly.

In addition, high-level content is designed specifically for collective completion, so sooner or later players begin to cooperate for the best rewards. And it doesn’t matter whether you come here with friends or make them directly in the game world - at some point you will definitely understand that running around in a crowd is much more fun here.

Second place. Cuphead

This is not the first time this project has been included in our yearly results. But now we will highlight among its many advantages the co-op mode. Cuphead turned out to be hardcore enough to make you regularly grind your teeth and tie your gamepad to the steering wheel, killing yourself over and over again against the next boss.

But you can make the task easier - connect a second controller and run, jump and shoot in company. In addition to the opportunity to share experiences with a friend, the co-op mode also has a purely practical advantage - you can resurrect each other, which significantly increases the chances of survival in the madness that is happening on the screen. In addition, Cuphead can be played on one screen, which is considered almost a rarity these days.

First place. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

We will not talk about the phenomenon of PUBG and its victorious march across computers and consoles around the world. Let's just talk about the difference in gameplay for a single person and a pre-formed squad.

When you land on the island yourself, the whole world becomes your enemy. If you met someone, kill him, otherwise he will kill you. Grab everything you see, otherwise someone will beat you to it. This game tickles your nerves and allows you to experience the atmosphere of survival on your own skin.

But everything changes when you play with two or four players. Here you know that one of your comrades will definitely cover your butt sticking out of the grass and point to the enemy flashing on the horizon. Don't forget to share weapons, ammo and medicine with your friends. There is little use for a team in which one player has a whole arsenal in his pockets, and the rest are running around with nothing... a frying pan. A well-coordinated team in which players help each other has a much greater chance of success than those who silently run away in different directions, just trying to line their pockets.

Finally, if in a single-player game, transport is nothing more than a way to move faster around the map and periodically crush someone, then in team mode, party members can shoot directly from the car, turning an ordinary Dacia Logan into a deadly coffin on wheels. PUBG for Solo and PUBG for Squads are two decidedly great but different games. And to get the full experience, it’s worth trying both.

Worth mentioning

Literally missed one point in the voting Divinity: Original Sin 2, but not mentioning it would be very unfair. No other classic role-playing game allows different people to fully play each character separately. At the same time, you can act independently of your partners and generally run away to complete the quest at the other end of the game world. Or you can all run together and make your own decisions in battles and dialogues.

17. Strange Brigade

A dynamic shooter, the plot of which tells about the awakening of the ancient Egyptian witch-queen Seteki. Only the “Strange Brigade” - four brave adventurers who are ready to fight any danger for the sake of hard cash - can stop the ominous ruler and her minions.

Playing Strange Brigade alone is too boring, but in co-op the project reveals itself to its full potential. At various levels, bloodthirsty monsters, deadly traps and, of course, cunningly hidden treasures will await you, and an extensive arsenal of weapons and devastating spells, unique to each character, will help you deal with the creatures of evil.

16. A Way Out

A game completely aimed at playing cooperatively with a friend: you can’t go through it alone, you can’t go through it with a random player (not from the list of friends in Origin), and there’s no reason to - this project gives the most vivid emotions only when you play with someone you know well person, and preferably at one computer, in splitscreen. We won’t go into detail about the merits of A Way Out - we’ve already said everything in our review. If you have someone to play with, be sure to pay attention to this wonderful game.

15. Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide

The game in the Warhammer fantasy universe (which is not 40,000) invites players to team up and recapture the city of Ubersreik from the ratmen - mainly in close combat. Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide captivates with its dynamic and intense gameplay, impresses with the beauty of its locations and delights with its high complexity. In general, an excellent option for evening team fights.

14. Portal 2

Without exaggeration, the ingenious puzzle game from Valve could have been placed higher on our list, but due to its age it has given way to newcomers. The main feature of the Portal 2 cooperative is a very convenient, intuitive gesture system, thanks to which communication in the game does not require voice communication, and even residents of different countries can find a common language with each other. Interesting puzzles and signature humor remain in place, so the project will help you relieve boredom and have fun.

13. Gears of War

Only two games from the Gears of War series are presented on the PC - the first and fourth parts (the rest were released on consoles of the Xbox family), but they are enough for vivid emotions. Gears of War has a gloomy atmosphere, charisma of the main characters and fierce battles with undisguised, even ostentatious, cruelty.

12. Broforce

11. Killing Floor

10. Ghost Recon Wildlands

A shooter from Ubisoft, specially designed for cooperative play. Of course, you can play Ghost Recon Wildlands alone, but then you won't get even a fraction of the experience that this project provides when completing tasks together. It's all about the gameplay: the game belongs to the genre of tactical shooters and, obviously, AI-controlled characters cannot compare with real people who, with proper coordination of actions, will turn the passage of missions into a beautifully choreographed Hollywood action movie.

9. Dying Light

8. HELLDIVERS

7. Civilization

The sixth part of the strategic Civilization series is the newest at the moment, but co-op is also present in previous editions. Here, co-play is implemented within the framework of diplomacy: players can declare friendship, form an alliance and develop their civilizations together. Civilization VI is perfect for playing both over the Internet and on one computer - for the second case, there is a hot-sit mode in which participants take turns making their moves.

6.Cuphead

A long-term platformer released in 2017, with a stunningly beautiful visual style that references the cartoons of the 30s and 40s. Players will take control of funny characters and fight two dozen bosses. Cuphead has incredibly complex gameplay, so some friendly support comes in handy.

5. Path of Exile

4. Call of Duty

Starting with World at War, each part of the Call of Duty series contains, in addition to a single player campaign and competitive multiplayer, a co-op mode. In some installments of the franchise, players will have to fight zombies, in others – with aliens, but each time these missions delight with excellent presentation and exciting gameplay.

3. Destiny 2

Both parts of Destiny are designed for cooperative play, but only the second part is available on PC. Destiny 2 is about cooperative battles against alien invaders, accompanied by a mystery-filled plot and a carefully crafted futuristic setting. The game boasts not only exciting gameplay, but also beautiful graphics that demonstrate stunning landscapes.

2.Diablo

Diablo 2 turned 17 this year, Diablo 3 is 5 years old, but both projects still occupy places in all the top cooperative games. The reasons for its success are high replayability, well-balanced gameplay, and exciting gameplay. Any fan of good action-RPGs periodically feels the urge to download one of the games in the Diablo series, call your friends and go to Sanctuary to deal with the presumptuous demons.

1. Divinity: Original Sin

Both parts of the Divinity: Original Sin series share honorable first place in our ranking of the best cooperative games on PC. And completely deservedly so, because every joint passage here turns into an exciting adventure, where players can argue with each other, intrigue each other, explore the world together or separately and, of course, fight numerous enemies. You simply won’t find a better project for having fun with friends.

Co-op games for weak PCs

Almost all of the above games require fairly powerful video cards and processors. But what to do if your computer’s configuration can’t handle modern projects, but you still want to play co-op? Don't rush to break your piggy bank for an upgrade - we have a selection of games with co-op for weak PCs.

Dead Island is a series of zombie action games with parkour, close combat and a system of zonal dismemberment of the living dead.

Magicka- a series of adventure games dedicated to four unlucky wizards who, by the will of fate, will have to fight a demon who intends to destroy the entire world. It is interesting because of its original combat system, in which players independently create magic spells by combining various elements.

Don't Starve Together– a survival simulator with the possibility of cooperative play. Players need to survive in a hostile world for as long as possible, and working together significantly increases the chances of survival.

Torchlight is a cooperative action-RPG in the Diablo style with vast locations, addictive gameplay and pets that relieve players of the need to constantly return to the city to sell loot.

Sacred 2– a large-scale RPG with interesting classes, a fun plot and funny humor.

If you are concerned about the question of what to play with friends on PC, and preferably with a full-fledged single player campaign, or at least together with a partner, this article is what you need! After all, almost all modern games are designed for joint playthrough, that is, for co-op! We will focus only on the best and must-see samples.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare (1-3)

Developer: Infinity Ward Genre: 1st person shooter Release date: 2007 to 2011

Be that as it may, no matter how controversial the series has been in recent years CoD, its record sales show how much modern gamers love co-op Call of Duty Modern Warfare. You didn’t think that CoD was sold in such quantities because of the players’ love for the crazy scenarios of these technically outdated shooters? This is a paradox, a phenomenon, call it what you want... but Modern Warfare offers first-class online battles, not least thanks to the Call of Duty Elite online service. Playing in co-op, in particular, is a pleasure - there are always detailed statistics, many different clans, communication with millions of players, and whirlwind gameplay. Personally I choose Modern Warfare 2, but as the ratings and reviews of gamers show, parts 1 and 3 are also what we need!

In general, at the moment there are so many PC games with a cooperative mode that it’s impossible to list them all. No need! We only talk about the best! If you liked this article, we will continue our list of the most interesting releases with co-op on consoles.

In the meantime, look forward to the fall releases. After all, for example, the long-awaited new CoD And Battlefield 4 sure to showcase the best co-op modes in 2013! Who knows, maybe the next-gen will be brought there...

Coop - there is so much in this sound. And it merged and responded. Often in the life of every normal gamer there is a genre crisis. No, we’re not talking about some kind of existential dead end, but about something much simpler: aliens, dinosaurs, cyborgs and elves saving princesses are finally stuck together into a single lump that you don’t want to separate.

That's when the co-op comes to the rescue. Calling a friend in “Skupe” (or inviting them to visit) and going to exterminate identical mobs in the name of new loot is the best medicine when the intricacies of numerous plots no longer fit into the brain. What to play with your friends? Gmbox will answer this question for you.

10. Far Cry 4

Our protégé, the prince in exile, has a faithful ally - one of the adapted, almost local ones. In the single player, he sometimes appears in the plot and is controlled by AI, but in the co-op, the mountain guide is already controlled by a real person. Together, you can organize a very high-quality thrash: butting convoys with machine guns on two elephants or throwing Molotovs at mercenaries from a moped helicopter a la Mad Max. Why only 10th place in the rating? In co-op, the main missions are locked - only side missions are available. Trouble and sadness.

9. Vikings: Wolves of Midgard

What could be more fun than driving a two-handed ax into a Jotun's skull? Only two axes! We take a pinch of the Vikings series, a little Diablo 3 blood, Sacred 3 raw meat, mix it all well... and we get a good co-op. But only for two. And only on the Internet. Well, the guys from Game Farm don’t have the Blizzard budget: they didn’t have time to work out the net code for 4 or a couch co-op on one TV.

8.Mother Russia Bleeds

Battletoads & Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, memories of the 90s - all this, as a rule, comes in one package. If you don’t want to breathe dust while digging up “Dandy” or “Sega”, if dancing with tambourines while installing emulators is not your style, try Mother Russia Bleeds. Apparently, there is at least one Russian emigrant in the French development team: the details are depicted with love and knowledge. And in terms of mechanics - a real Double Dragon. Only instead of Billy and Jimmy - Ivan and Nina.

7. The Division

The Division is a great game for having fun with friends: walking through a half-dead, desperate metropolis has never been so exciting! But keep in mind: there is a lot of co-op fun here, for tens of hours, but then the harsh mathematical simulator begins. We need to think about what and how to upgrade next, and where to get the materials for this. Grinding becomes truly Korean, which is no longer as fun as just mindlessly shooting at bobbleheads. And the “boobs” themselves in high-level content are becoming too thick-skinned.

6.Warframe

Give up your skepticism about free to play (if you have one), and be sure to try this game. Destiny, released a year before Destiny itself, is also available on PC absolutely free - isn’t that interesting!? Almost everything here can be unlocked using in-game resources, with infusions of real money optional. Donators will not annoy you, since Warframe is designed exclusively for co-op, and not for PvP.

5. Dead Island

Dead Island was a real revolution in its time: a VIP tropical vacation for just... how much did new products cost on Steam back then? 300 rubles? And that’s the beauty of it: not just lying on the beach like a walrus and getting sunburned, but killing zombies with oars and frying pans. And not gloomily, alone, but cheerfully - with friends. New New Phages might have forgotten what Dead Island is, but we will reassure them: even the original version looked beautiful, and less than a year ago an HD remaster was released, which is still relevant today.

4. Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Here, Ubisoft took into account both the mistakes of Far Cry 4 and the excessive complexity of The Division. Absolutely the entire game is played in co-op - there are no restrictions. The upgrade tree is simple and obvious, the modification of weapons is the same: you will not be distracted by long and tedious calculations, without which you cannot do without them in the same Division. The fun in Bolivia is boundless and unclouded: they should not be carrying notes of protest to the French ambassador, but counting the income from tourism.

3. Diablo 3 (console version)

Blizzard is a true titan of the gaming industry. It is to him that we owe perhaps the best co-op ARPG in the history of mankind. The PC version is, of course, good: early updates, hardcore seasons and all that jazz. But Diablo 3 truly shines only on consoles. Sofa co-op for 4 people is a formula for almost endless fun. Legendary rifts, Paragon levels, a sea of loot - you can be drawn in here for a long time and not let go. In addition, with a controller there is more Action and less RPG, and for the company this is just right.

2. Destiny

Epic, space co-op: half a billion dollars of budget well spent. Beautiful locations and the strongest shooting mechanics - it’s not for nothing that Bungie has been making Halo for almost its entire life. The principles of a shooter have been multiplied by the fundamental rules of an RPG, and the result is entertainment that is yet to be found. Unfortunately, all high-level content is blocked from players who cannot call themselves absolutely hardcore. You need to gather as many as 6 people into a raid, and then swear at each other for a long time: you #%$* didn’t get the ball, and you &^$@ didn’t jump on the Hive ships. This doesn’t really look like a cheerful cooperative relaxation...

1. Borderlands 2

So first prize goes to Borderlands 2! After all, the only things that matter here are gazillions of cannons, hordes of comical mobs and toilet humor (how have you ever dropped a purple shotgun straight from the toilet!?) humor. No one will force you to comply with the tedious “raid mechanics” - know to hold the trigger, and don’t die too often. Even if you die, then #&$: the Second Wind system will allow you to get back on your feet if, in your last breath, you shoot at least one adversary. The characters of Borderlands 2 are some of the brightest in the history of gaming. It’s much more pleasant to be the incarnation of such goons than just another knight without fear or reproach. Especially in the company of friends.

Do you like to play games with someone, rather than alone? Then this TOP cooperative games is for you.

What are cooperative games nowadays? First of all, these are online games in which players form teams and fight against bots or against other teams of players. But these can also be regular games on a PC, which, in addition to single players, also have the ability to play online.

Co-op games are deservedly very popular, thanks to such an important component of gameplay as team spirit.

You may also be interested in the TOP 10 online games and the TOP 10 best MMORPGs.

10.Resident Evil 6

Capcom often experiments with its games. If the previous part of Resident Evel failed, then Resident Evel 6 turned out to be very good.

The game has several companies for different characters, and it is best to play through the company in co-op, since the artificial intelligence is a little stupid. By the way, the fifth part also had a pretty good co-op.

9. Left for Dead 2

Again, 4 people can play in co-op. The point of the game is to get to the shelter.

To fight off various zombies, you are given many different weapons. Pistols, shotguns, dynamites, Molotov cocktails, sniper rifles, etc. Also, everything that comes to hand is used.

In addition to ordinary zombies, which you can kill in packs of 20, there are also bosses with whom you have to tinker. There are many different cards in the game, making the passage varied.

If you don’t have enough standard maps, then you can download more, but already made by amateurs.

8. Dead Island

The development of this game lasted more than five years, but still the game came out and turned out to be very good. A good plot, beautiful graphics, enemies are literally dismembered into pieces. The detailing was also impressive. The game almost looks like a well-made movie, where the players are the actors.

There are several characters in the game, and each of them has their own characteristics - some shoot better, while others fight. They won't let us really shoot - there aren't that many cartridges. But hand-to-hand combat - please. If you want, hit with an oar, if you want, hit with a bat.

You can play the game alone or with friends. The second option, of course, is much more interesting and fun.

7. Gears of War: judgment

In fourth place is one of the best Microsoft exclusives.

The most insidious and beautiful game of the Bill Corporation. Lots of weapons and meat, a very good plot. We won’t even talk about multiplayer - it turned out just great. In our opinion, this is the best part of the Gears of Var series, especially in terms of online play.

Well, if you are not a fan of online battles, we recommend playing the first two parts of the series - they have the best plot.

6.Portal 2

In a co-op Portal 2 The same puzzles await us as in the single-player game. But they will be even more complex and unpredictable. Your partner has a portal gun.

The downside of Portal 2 is that there is only two-player co-op. However, no more is required.

It is worth noting that the map for the cooperative is constantly updated, which is very pleasing and generally fits well with the concept of the game, which is based on puzzles, and not just soulless shooting.

5. Army Of Two: The Devil's Cartel

The game takes place in Mexico. We are fighting against drug traffickers.

Thanks to the new engine, destructibility has appeared in the game, and the game itself looks graphically better than its predecessors. A detailed character customization system has also appeared. The game has a very wide arsenal of weapons.

This part of the game places a strong emphasis on teamwork, forcing players to think together in order to complete the tasks assigned to them correctly and efficiently.

4. Dead Space 3

The third part of the famous horror, and now also action, has changed a lot compared to the previous parts. The game takes place on a snowy planet inhabited by necromorphs.

Crafting can be considered the most interesting innovation - now it is not money that falls from defeated enemies, but valuable resources. You can also find resources using a search bot. With these resources, you can produce weapons with or without blueprints.

The appearance of the characters has also changed - now they wear insulated suits, which can be changed in the wardrobe.

Co-op is very different from a single player game - you need to interact with each other and play together. Periodically, one of the players experiences hallucinations, and the second player does not see them. The player, under the influence of hallucinations, can shoot in different directions or even at his partner.

3. Panzar

Free online game Panzar from Russian developers made at the world level, thanks to a modern game engine Cry Engine 3

The graphics have been raised to unprecedented heights. All details on the characters and the surrounding world are worked out carefully. If it’s snow, then it glitters and shimmers in the light, if it’s meadows, then you can see how literally every blade of grass moves, if it’s water, then it gurgles and flows realistically between the stones, the rocks are depicted in the smallest detail, and you can’t even talk about trees to say - they are great!

But for a true gamer, graphics don't matter, you might say, and that's true. What is the gameplay of this project? Is it worth paying attention to it, and how do you even play it?

Read all about the pros and cons of the game in the Panzar review.

2. Metal War Online

When we think about online session games with combat vehicles, we usually think of World of Tanks, War Thunder or Star Conflict. And these are just the most famous examples. At the same time, few people think that there are much more projects of this genre, and their level of quality is often no lower than all kinds of “Tanks”.

Metal War Online is an example of just such a game. This is a free session 3D shooter from Russian developers with a look to the future, which compares favorably with similar projects in terms of action and drive.

Here players do not get bored and hide in the bushes, but fight in co-op with each other in armored, high-speed and killer cars with machine guns, rocket launchers and artillery launchers. How many MMO games do you know with this kind of gameplay?

1. Warframe

And the best cooperative game, in our opinion, is Warframe, in which everything is geared towards a good co-op with friends! Imagine an amazing combination of space ninjas, robots, mutants with swords, sledgehammers, axes and futurist small arms.

In terms of co-op, Warframe is definitely, if not the best, then one of the best online games. After all, all conditions have been created here for playing together with friends. The game is simple, exciting, has amazing graphics and is completely free!

The game's art and Russian voice acting were professionally managed.
