This article is devoted to an overview of the game locations The Long Dark.
We'll start with the first one and look at all the locations. Both existing ones and new ones that will be added.

Mysterious lake.
At different game difficulties there are different numbers of animals, for example, on the “stalker” difficulty, get ready for frequent encounters with wolves and bears. On the "wanderer" difficulty, get ready to see a lot of deer that will run away from you. Loot (What you find after you examine a box, for example) is also different. But sometimes you can find a lot of food and weapons on the “stalker”.
On Hydroelectric power station "Carter", with the “wanderer” and “stalker” difficulties, get ready for a battle with the wolf; if you win, you may find a gun under the stairs in the hall. In the Trapper's house you can find several IRP (Individual Dietary Diet), which will restore a lot of calories. Cartridges for the gun, and the gun itself can be found here, or at the hydroelectric power station. The forester's hut is the third place where you can find a gun.
You can't get hold of cartridges here, but you can find a knife and a hatchet in good condition. There is a lot of food in this location, but setting up a shelter, I think, is not very profitable, since there are a lot of hills and forests.
Coastal Highway.
The next location is Coastal Highway. This location differs from others in the number of buildings and the richest loot. It also has its own atmosphere. You won't be wandering through endless wastelands, but rather walking through abandoned towns and villages. There is only one elevated building in this location. And it's called "Abandoned Observation Post" . It’s very strange that the developers made the same building texture as the Forester’s House. This location overlooks the Mysterious Lake and Otradnaya Valley.
The path to the Valley will lie through an abandoned coal mine, where, upon careful inspection, you can find up to 6 cartridges, a pair of work boots and several gun cleaning kits. This is not all that is in the mine. You will find a lot of good things. So, let's return from the mine on the Highway. This location is rich not so much in predatory wolves, but in hares. Yes, hares. A specially made building on a hill called "Island of the Horned Hare" - a paradise for a trapper. The developers apparently “assigned” all the hares from the location to this place.
There is also a bear’s den at the location; you will see it as a cave, at the entrance to which there will be gnawed yellow bones of the animal. On a “stalker”, be careful when walking here, a bear may attack you, but usually it is empty and you can spend the night in it as it is warm there.
Otradnaya Dolina.
The next location is Otradnaya Dolina. There are few buildings in this location, but a large open world, in the truest sense of the word. Highest point of the location - "Radio Tower Hill" which is not so easy to climb. This hill is frequently visited by wolves and bears, so be careful when hiking in this area.
There is also a “Farmer’s House”, which I wouldn’t call it that; the farmer is apparently too wealthy. The house is large, several bedrooms, plenty of fuel for the stove and plenty of clothes. Overall, you'll like it here.
Wolf Mountain.
If you like hardcore, then try to survive on “Wolf Mountain”. This is the most difficult location and a paradise for climbers. This map has a lot of rocks and ledges that you can climb on. Just a few buildings where you can wait out the night without freezing to death, not “Go into the Dark.”
Also at this location our plane will be found, but in size it is not "Corn grower" , And you "Airbus". All parts of the plane are scattered around the location, there are also a lot of boxes lying around, you will need a hacksaw to open them.
That's all the locations in the game "The Long Dark", which currently exist in the game. Each location has its own “Zest”, which you have to find yourself. The game is very interesting, but again, not for everyone.
