But let’s return to our topic, because how nice it is to hold and put on something that you practically made yourself. Therefore, let's proceed to the description simple way receive a unique T-shirt.

There are several simple but effective ways drawing images onto fabric that you can use.

For creative people who like to draw, the method of applying a design through a stencil using special acrylic paints for textiles may be suitable. These paints can be easily found at your local art or office supply store. The palette of such paints is quite rich, you can always choose the color you need. In addition to paint, you will also need a brush or “column” of small thickness and a piece of foam rubber. Before applying a design to a purchased new T-shirt, you should practice on a piece of fabric with a similar texture.

Drawing on clothes with your own hands is a delicate matter

When you are ready to get to work, first of all:

Bring the T-shirt into “working” condition. Be sure to wash it, dry it thoroughly, iron it and secure it on a sheet of cardboard or fiberboard, so that work surface there was not a single fold.

Find a design you like on the Internet and print it on a printer.

Next, cut out the picture along the outline and attach it to the T-shirt. You can ask for help at any office of an advertising company, where, for little money, they will do a high-quality cutting of your drawing along the contour using a special plotter.

Carefully secure the design stencil to the fabric so that it does not move to the side while working.

You can circle the image with a simple pencil or use a marker to work with patterns, the traces of which disappear over time.

Using a thin brush, carefully paint over the voids. Instead of a brush, a simple sponge is also perfect, which can also be used to apply paint using a stencil.

When the paint is applied and that's it small parts and the corners are painted, the T-shirt needs to be dried. Acrylic paints polymerize quickly, but remember that depending on the type of paint and the number of layers applied, drying the picture may take about a day.

After this, place a sheet of paper or cotton fabric on the image and fix the image with a hot iron for 5 minutes.

So, the handmade T-shirt is ready! Do not forget that it can only be washed on a delicate cycle and not earlier than two days after applying the image.

Rules for canning at home

Putting designs on your T-shirts can be fun and entertaining, and can even make you money if you decide to sell your creations. Whether you want to print a T-shirt design yourself or leave it to the professionals, you can create a design for your T-shirt from the comfort of your home.

Steps

Create your own drawing

Choose a color scheme. When designing a T-shirt, it is important to think about color contrast. That is, about how paint certain colors will look good on a light or darker T-shirt. Certain colors of ink on a light or dark T-shirt look more impressive on a computer screen than they will look once printed.

Give the drawing volume. Once you have decided what color the drawing will be, it is worth thinking about what three-dimensional image looks better than flat. To highlight a specific area of the design, choose a color that will shade it slightly. Then the drawing will become brighter and more voluminous.

    • If you plan to use powerful image processing programs (such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Gimp, Adobe Illustrator or Paint Shop Pro), you can take standard image and, if necessary, radically change it.
    • Create an image using vector graphic editor Inkscape - then you can resize the photo if necessary.
  1. Think about the design. This means connecting all the elements into one whole. How you do this depends on the composition of your drawing. Perhaps your drawing contains many small elements such as stars, plants or animals. Or maybe this is one large drawing with the main drawing or image.

    • Think about how to give the drawing cohesion so that all of its parts or elements look good together. A harmonious image will immediately attract the attention of others.
  2. Finish the final layout of the drawing. It's best to sketch out your ideas on paper before printing them on a T-shirt. Don't forget about color contrast and volume. Make sure that the drawing looks harmonious and complete.

    • When in doubt, ask others for their opinions. Ask friends, family members or colleagues what color scheme they like best.
  3. Release the T-shirt(s). For small scale production, you can continue to iron the designs.

It's time to burn the design onto the emulsion. A 500-watt light bulb will burn a pattern onto the emulsion in about fifteen minutes.

Clean the mesh screen. Soak the mesh under a thin layer of water for about a couple of minutes. Then rinse off the excess emulsion with a hose or in the shower.

Attach waterproof film to the corners inside grids The side edge of the mesh will be on the front of the shirt and the front edge will be the ink.

Lay the T-shirt on a flat surface. Make sure there are no wrinkles. Place the screen on the T-shirt where you want your design to appear. Place the mesh on top, making sure the mesh is in line with the design.

    • Place the T-shirt under a hard piece of cardboard. This way it will remain smooth and without wrinkles. This will also make the next task easier for you, as you will then have to place the T-shirt in a safe place to dry.
    • If possible, get a friend to hold the screen while you apply the ink.
  4. Pour a tablespoon of screen printing ink into the top of the mesh. Using a scraper, apply ink to the mesh from bottom to top.

Scrape over the mesh with a scraper. By covering the mesh with ink, you can apply the design to the T-shirt.

Let the ink dry. Using a hairdryer, you will dry the drawing in a few minutes.

    • Allow the ink to dry before applying the next layer of colorful designs to the screen.
    • If you use the right screen printing technology, you can easily wash your T-shirt in the washing machine.
  5. Rinse the mesh after you've finished making the t-shirts. Put it in cold water and wash off the ink with a sponge. Leave the mesh in the air to dry.

Drawing from a stencil

Take the materials needed for the job. To stencil your design onto a T-shirt, you will need:

Print your design onto a piece of photo paper. Photo paper is blank paper used for wrapping books. One side of it is normal, and the other is sticky, which peels off. You should mount your paper on the sticky side so that the design is visible through the front side of the photo paper (not the sticky side).

Use a sharp utility knife to cut out the black parts of the design. Place the attached sheets of paper on a flat surface, such as a table.

Peel off the sticky part from the photo paper. Also remove the plain paper with the photo paper design highlighted. Place the adhesive stencil onto the T-shirt, and be sure to remove any wrinkles.

Place a piece of cardboard inside the T-shirt. This will separate the fronts and backs so the ink doesn't bleed through to the other side.

  1. Use a sponge brush to work into the fabric. Only paint the areas of the T-shirt that were cut out from the photo paper - those that will be painted dark.

    • Let the paint dry. Test it by lightly touching the painted areas. If there is still paint on your finger, it means it hasn't dried yet.
  2. Remove the photo paper from the T-shirt when the paint is dry. You now have a stencil design on your T-shirt.

    • If you want to make some more t-shirts, you can use this stencil to make them.

Hello, my dear). Today I want to talk about the uniqueness of each person’s style.

Why do we even sew clothes? In order to bring your unique ideas to life. I think that the motives and emotions of all people who create clothes are different. For me, this process begins with an internal restless state and a search for ideas in my head; and always ends in satisfaction.

And the creative field for internal search is huge, one of the very interesting areas that we will talk about today is independent fabric painting. But the concept of “painting” sounds quite loud, its small prototype is a drawing, and today I will do DIY drawing on a T-shirt.

T-shirt with a girl's face. DIY drawing

I will draw the design on the front of the T-shirt. Therefore, first we prepare the fabric. In this post you can read how to sew a T-shirt without a pattern.

At the beginning I want to talk about paints. Today in stores big choice acrylic paints for fabrics, they showed themselves perfectly in practice. That is, a drawing made with acrylic paints does not wash out or fade. I have already painted more than one fabric, and there has never been a case where there was any incident with the painted fabric. The main thing is to iron the drawing well after drying.

When we have decided on the location of the future drawing, the next step is to outline the approximate contours of the drawing. We do this with a pencil on the fabric.

The design on the T-shirt does not suggest perfect proportions faces, on the contrary, it seems to me that a person who does not draw professionally (I mean, not an artist) is capable of creating very unusual thing. This, like children's drawings, is an unusual vision of ordinary things.

For the drawing I needed:

  • acrylic paints- red and blue
  • acrylic contour in a tube - black and silver
  • thin brush and jar of water

Draw the lines of the face in blue. We draw small rhombuses around the face:

Then we paint over some of the rhombuses and lips of the girl in the picture with red paint:

We paint the remaining diamonds blue.

Now we take the black outline on the fabric, it looks like this:

Draw the hair lines by evenly squeezing the dye out of the tube:

Now we make some of these lines (hair) “fat”, so we will create accents on the hair:

Now, using the silver outline, paint over small dot some strands of hair:

The result is this unusual drawing:

After the acrylic paint has dried, the design must be ironed through a cotton cloth. Now you can continue sewing the T-shirt)).

If you're not sure you can do it the first time draw a design on fabric with your own hands, then you can find any drawing on the Internet, print it, put it under the fabric and translate it. This will make your work easier and eliminate the moment of worry - it can’t turn out ugly))). Try it, draw, post your work in the comments)).

T-shirts with original inscriptions have always been popular, but you can’t always find what you want on sale, and not all companies have companies that produce inscriptions or designs on T-shirts settlements. You can, of course, order such a service on the Internet, but we are not looking for easy ways and will do the T-shirt painting with our own hands.

Apply an inscription or design to a T-shirt at home can be done in several ways:

  1. By using home printer. We sell special transfer paper for printing on inkjet and laser printers. The image is simply printed on such paper and transferred to clothing using an iron. This method allows you to put not only inscriptions on a T-shirt, but also full-color photographs. The downside is that the image will quickly peel off after 10-15 washes.
  2. Painting with acrylic paints or fabric markers. Our small master class will be about this method of painting a T-shirt.

Fabric paints are sold in many craft stores and are inexpensive. They come in 2 types: just for fabric and for batik (for silk).

I have never used batik paints, but I bought several jars for comparison. They differ in that the fabric paints are thick and lie on top of the fabric like all acrylic paints, but for batik they are liquid like water, absorbed into the fabric and cannot be felt on it when touched, but are almost invisible on dense fabrics. They also spread a lot and to use them you need to use special contours (sold in the same place where paints are sold). As far as I understand, batik paints are only used for painting silk (as written on the can).

For the design on the T-shirt I used acrylic fabric paints.

First you need to come up with an inscription and its design. Since the experiment was carried out on a children's T-shirt and specifically for this article, the universal inscription was chosen: “I love everyone.”

You can draw right away without a stencil, but I’m not very good at drawing by hand, so I had to make one.

How to make a stencil? To do this, print using a printer on thick paper ( better than photo paper) image the right size and cut it out.

It is better to cut the stencil with a stationery or mounting knife, or a scalpel. Pay attention to how the letters are cut: the holes must not be cut completely so that the internal parts of the letters do not fall off.

Before painting, the T-shirt needs to be ironed; I was too lazy to do this, and it was not very convenient to paint. NECESSARILY under the top layer of the T-shirt you need place paper or film so as not to smear the other side with paint. I used a regular faux brush to apply the paint.

After the stencil design is painted over, remove the stencil and paint over the remaining spaces on the letters that were not cut out. You also need to correct the drawing if somewhere it turned out crooked.

When you are done with painting, we leave the T-shirt to dry for 24 hours (according to the instructions, I waited a little less). When the paint is completely dry, iron the design through a thin cloth for 5 minutes to set the paint. After ironing, the T-shirt can be safely washed at a temperature of 30-40 degrees and there is no fear that the paint will peel off. The drawing lasts quite a long time.
