In 2016, Supercell, the Finnish developer of the mobile game Clash of Clans, which has already become a cult favorite, delighted fans with a new product. They released Clash Royale - a direct descendant of the previous platform, only the genre shifted from online strategy to the extremely popular card game today. Clash Royale, if it hasn't surpassed its predecessor in terms of excitement and variety of gameplay, is certainly not inferior in any way.
The new toy from Supercell is a typical mobile platformer for iOS and Android with all the attendant control features. It is also possible to play Clash Royale online on a computer without downloading. But any user can install it on a PC using the Bluestacks utility, and do it for free.

There is no plot as such in the game; the whole process is built on the need to protect and develop your own fortress.
Gameplay
The gameplay consists of endless battles, the main goal of which is to attack enemy towers and defend your own castle. There will be three towers in your location: one contains the king, the other two contain princesses. The king has an increased health reserve, but deals less damage, while princesses, on the contrary, have fewer lives, but have a faster attack speed, deal increased damage and shoot further.
Instead of the usual figures of soldiers, you will have their card images - a playing deck that you have chosen for battles. You can change cards in the deck before the start of the battle; from the moment the battle begins, replacement will be impossible.
For each card you will have to pay a certain amount of magic elixir, which is automatically produced as you progress. The maximum amount of magic potion is 10 units, so you won’t be able to accumulate the elixir.
Important: the usual speed of elixir production is one unit per 2-3 seconds. If you have less than 60 seconds left until the end of the battle, the production rate will increase 2 times faster. However, you should not speed up the battle - by chasing the magic potion, you can easily miss the enemy’s attack.
You will play Clash Royale on your computer using several types of cards:
- Maps of the structure. They cannot move in the location; depending on the type of card, you can either launch an attack on enemy troops, or start producing a resource: soldiers for the army or a magic elixir.
- Troop cards. Necessary for movement and attack.
- Spell cards. Essential for magical support of your army. Spell cards can be placed in any part of the arena, with the exception of logs.
Playing alone is not interesting, so the creators have provided a system of clans - communities in which participants can share resources and exchange cards, participate in clan battles or challenges, and also conduct joint training. 
Important: you can donate cards once every 7 hours, and within 3 days (from Friday to Sunday) clan players can collect a public chest, which serves as a reward for winning clan competitions.
Battles take place in arenas, there are 13 of them in the game. Before entering the arena, you will have to undergo mandatory training, during which you will be introduced to the basics of management, deck selection and combat. New arenas will open depending on the number of battle trophies you earn. Please note that earned trophies can be lost at any time: for example, after losing to an opponent. With each arena you open, the selection of cards will expand, so try to open as many arenas as possible - this will provide more variety when building your deck.
If you are tired of standard battles, welcome to the “Events” mode, consisting of tests and tournaments. Access to events is available for crystals, and you will also periodically have free attempts to pass the next test.
Please note: players can only access the “Events” mode from level 5; to receive particularly “evil” tasks, level 8 and above will be required.
There are also daily quests in the game, the purpose of which is to complete the daily tasks of one Main task. And if daily quests can be changed by choosing the most attractive one, then you will not change the Main quest. For each quest you are given points, after accumulating a certain number of which you can open a Golden Chest with unique cards or rare resources.
Clash Royale also has its own currency:
- Magic elixirs. Produced during the game, they are necessary for the placement of the army, buildings and spell cards in the arena before the battle.
- Golden coins. The main type of money with which you will purchase cards and improve them. Gold will also be required to create your own clan. There are several ways to become the proud owner of gold coins: by winning a battle or completing a challenge, opening a chest, exchanging crystals for coins, or donating cards to a member of your clan.
- Crystals. An elite currency that can only be obtained by opening rare chests. The only plus is that at the beginning of the game, each newcomer receives 100 crystals.
To avoid a shameful defeat at the very beginning, you should pay attention to the advice of “experienced” gamers:
- Don't forget about chests. This is the main way to get rare cards and crystals, so open all available chests and try to earn points for completing daily quests necessary to open the Golden Chest.
- Don't mix everything. Don’t think that if you put all the strongest cards in your deck, victory is guaranteed. In fact, it is necessary to select a combined set, taking into account the characteristics of each card.
- Leave your nerves alone. The more nervous you are, the higher the likelihood of a shameful defeat. Relax, start thinking and everything will work out.
- Tactics and strategy are your everything. Develop clever moves, study your opponent's tactics, and don't be lazy to learn from other players.
- Watch your local TV. The game has its own channel, where especially advanced players post streams of successful battles. A good way to learn.
- Create clans. They will not only help you in training and battles, but will also provide access to card exchange.
- Experiment. Don't be afraid to lose - it's just a game. Remember, a couple of defeats is not the end of the world, but a reason to learn something new. Well, or at least change the deck.

Clash Royale is one of the top games from Blizzard among mobile developers, SuperCell. It is a mixture of real-time card strategy and a little bit of mobs (there are towers and base defense).
The gameplay is based on using the right cards at the right time to defeat your opponent. Players accumulate a special resource called elixir to summon creatures, construct buildings, or use defensive or offensive spells. The number of cards is relatively small, about 8-9 dozen, but unlike other card games, almost all of them “play”, there are practically no useless or of little use cards, even the starting cards are present in strong decks. Contrary to popular belief (especially among the most impulsive and young part of the players), epics and legendaries “do not decide”, consider yourself very lucky, if your opponent is packed with only epics or legendaries, he is guaranteed to merge, easy wine over a self-confident donor.
The basis of our progress as a player is passing through the arenas. They reveal additional cards to the roster (i.e. they will fall out of chests). For defeating your opponents, you receive “cups” - the local equivalent of an online rating. The higher we rise, the more dangerous and advanced players we meet; at high levels you will fight with top players in terms of skill, sharks among the royalists.
One of the main features of Clash Royale is opening chests, i.e. sets with cards, gems (premium currency) and gold. The amount of “good” in chests depends on the arena. Here the developers maintain an ironclad balance, high-level cards drop more cards, but they require more upgrades and significantly more effort to compile a good deck for their level than is required for beginners. The developers carefully revealed the order in which chests drop out and too often make concessions to players, making legendary and rare chests much more accessible.
Clash Royale doesn't punish you for losing, which is a big plus. Each player can hack as much as they want, test their deck, hone their skills and simply win. Although natural (i.e. free) progression in obtaining cards, gold and experience is limited by the time of opening chests, it is always interesting to hang out on the production of arena cups, or even take part in a tournament.
The graphics are cartoonish, pleasant and sincere, although this is far from the main indicator for a mobile game. Fans of Clash of Clans will receive an atmospheric bonus, since the clash royale action takes place in the same game universe, the characters intersect, among the cards you will find many old acquaintances and vice versa.
Donation allows you to pump up epic cards in decks well and greatly speeds up the gameplay in general. However, it is not critical for successfully completing the arenas. Prices for super-magic chests are steep and it’s better not to get excited here, but legendaries drop there with approximately a 30% probability.
I’ve been playing for over a year now and I recommend it to you, an excellent CCG in which you can kill time in transport, on a boring class, spend a few minutes at work and even play fully for your own pleasure. The developers did an excellent job of maintaining attention to their product, because Clash Royale not only entices you with the riches of the game, but regularly gives them to you.
