What does the eternal flame mean on May 9th? Eternal flame

Honoring the memory of the Great Victory should not be limited to one single May day a year. To ensure that the heroes’ feat remains in the people’s consciousness for a long time, memorials were built throughout the country with a flame continuously maintained in special burners. The most famous of them is located in the capital of Russia. Therefore, the story of where the Eternal Flame came from to Moscow deserves a separate story.

History of the custom in ancient times

Europeans are not unique in attaching mournful meaning to flames:

  1. In ancient Iran there was a tradition of "atar" or "divine spark". A Zoroastrian priest took part in the lighting ceremony;
  2. A constantly burning flame on the outer altar was an integral attribute of religious rituals in Jerusalem. In modern Israel the custom has been renewed and is carried out in every synagogue;
  3. The Cherokee Indian tribe celebrated similar traditions throughout its history until it was subjected to genocide by the Americans. In the modern United States there is a replica of the Cherokee Eternal Flame (Red Clay State Historic Park, Tennessee);
  4. In ancient China, lighting the family altar was a tribute to ancestors;
  5. The flame was continuously maintained in the ancient Greek Temple of Apollo at Delphi and the ancient Roman Temple of Vesta.

The extinguishing of the fire was as symbolic as its lighting. This is exactly the action that Alexander the Great performed when conquering the Achaemenid state or the Romans when capturing Greek territories.

The meaning of fire in modern history

In the 20th century, a centuries-old world tradition found a new embodiment as a monument to the victims of military clashes:

  • The first gas burner at the grave of an anonymous warrior appeared in 1923 in the capital of France to perpetuate the memory of those who fell on the fields of the First World War;
  • The initiative received a wide response from society, politicians and the media. Thanks to this, similar memorials began to appear in other European countries;
  • The tragedy of World War II, which claimed the lives of several tens of millions of people, gave new impetus to the construction of such pyrotechnic structures. In 1946, the authorities of Poland liberated from the occupiers decided to light a fire in the central square of the capital;
  • Nine years later, the Soviet authorities took the same step: the memorial appeared in one of the settlements of the Tula region and worked only on memorable dates: February 23, Victory Day and the day the settlement was liberated from the Nazi invaders.

In this video, historian Kirill Rodionov will tell you about the history of the appearance of the eternal flame in the capital:

Where did they bring the Eternal Flame to Moscow from?

In 1957, an undying gas flame appeared on the Field of Mars in the Northern capital. It was here that the torch was lit, giving rise to the most famous among similar memorials - Moscow:

  • The “Eternal Flame” in the capital appeared on the eve of the 12th anniversary of Victory Day at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden;
  • From Leningrad The fire reached Moscow thanks to a relay race in which many Soviet celebrities and war heroes took part. The last in the chain was the disabled pilot Maresyev;
  • The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Communist Party Leonid Brezhnev himself. At the “X” moment, a funny thing happened: the head of state was unable to bring the torch in time and a strong bang was heard. Brezhnev recoiled in fear and could barely stay on his feet. This moment was carefully cut from the air of the central channel;
  • Fire is the central part of the sculptural composition, consisting of a five-pointed star, a battle ensign, a laurel branch and a metal military helmet;
  • During repair or maintenance work, the flame is transferred to another location. So in 2009, Poklonnaya Hill became its temporary home.

Technical side of the structure

The gas plant for continuous combustion was constructed at a company specializing in rocket engines (now known as the Energia Corporation). The project and drawings were developed at the Mosgaz Research Institute.

The operating principles of the device have not changed over the past few decades:

  • The fuel is natural gas, which is supplied through the use of the infrastructure of the state unitary enterprise Mosgaz;
  • The gas pipeline is regularly (much more often than household analogues) checked for operability;
  • Ignition occurs thanks to the presence of three electric wicks-lighters. The installation of several devices at once is caused by the need to ensure continuous operation (taking into account the impact of natural, technogenic and anthropogenic factors);
  • At first, a special gas service employee monitored the operation of the burner. An automatic troubleshooting system was subsequently created;
  • The installation consumes a fairly large amount of fuel - 6 cubic meters / hour - this is several times higher than average household indicators for apartments.

Guard at the Eternal Flame in Moscow

A permanent watch at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was established relatively recently, during the tenure of Boris Yeltsin. The order is:

  1. The change of guards at the post occurs hourly from eight in the morning to eight in the evening every day;
  2. The presidential decree established a new military uniform for military personnel on duty: unique raincoats, stripes and headdresses;
  3. By separate orders of the head of the FSO of Russia, the work schedule and shift of guards can be changed (if there are grounds);
  4. The Changing of the Guard ceremony is a famous attraction and attracts millions of tourists to the capital. The movements of the sentries are worked out to the smallest movements and are surprisingly synchronized. A similar elaboration of military rituals has been preserved since pre-revolutionary times;
  5. Until 1997, a post in the Alexander Garden was established only as part of the celebration of memorable dates. Previously (until 1993), there was a watch near the Lenin Mausoleum, where only the best of the best soldiers ended up. The guard platoon numbered from three dozen to fifty people in different years.

In pre-revolutionary times, the Field of Mars in St. Petersburg was known as a place for parades, marches and ceremonial processions. During the Soviet years, an anti-fascist monument was built here, from where the Eternal Flame moved to Moscow in 1957. Today the capital's memorial is one of the key tourist locations.

For 50 years now, the flame of the Eternal Flame near the walls of the Kremlin has not been able to blow out the wind, cover the snow and pour in the rain. It is inextinguishable. However, this is not a miracle, but a complex technical device. On February 22, late in the evening, I was able to observe a unique moment - the ceremonial maintenance of the burner of the Sacred Flame, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Eternal Flame in the Alexander Garden.

A little educational history. The first “Eternal Flame” in the USSR was lit in the village of Pervomaisky, Shchekinsky district, Tula region on May 6, 1955 in memory of those who fell in the Great Patriotic War. However, it cannot be called Eternal in the full sense of these words, since its combustion regularly stopped. The first truly Eternal (never stopped burning) fire in the USSR was the fire lit on November 6, 1957 on the Field of Mars in Leningrad. Three Eternal Flames are currently burning in Moscow.

The eternal flame at the walls of the Kremlin was solemnly lit on May 8, 1967 by the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Leonid Brezhnev, who accepted the torch from the Hero of the Soviet Union military pilot Alexei Maresyev. Historical photo:

The MOSGAZ museum still preserves the portable gas torch with which Brezhnev lit the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The torch consists of a metal body, inside of which there is a can of liquefied gas and a burner. The torch is still operational.

In order to maintain the constant burning of the flame of the Eternal Flame, it is necessary to carry out preventive maintenance of the unique gas burner device. By the way, from the very first day of the lighting of the Eternal Flame at the walls of the Kremlin, for half a century now, the MOSGAZ company has been servicing it.

To prevent the flame from extinguishing during maintenance work, it was transferred to another burner using a special torch. The torch was carried by the developer of the Eternal Flame burner, Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation Kirill Reader.

The temporary gas burner device is a smaller copy of the main burner. And it also has its own unique history, because it was thanks to him that in 2010 the sacred flame returned to the Alexander Garden after the reconstruction of the memorial from its temporary stay on Poklonnaya Hill.

Just in case of a fire, a candle is also lit nearby.

The star is lifted and taken to the side.

The star, by the way, is also not simple, but was created using space technologies at the country’s leading rocket enterprise - now RSC Energia named after Korolev.

Locksmiths of the highest level are allowed to perform the work. They check the igniters, which are under high voltage.

In total, the burner design provides three igniters, which provide triple redundancy so that the Eternal Flame burns in any weather.

The burner of the Eternal Flame is supplied with ordinary natural gas, which is present in the homes of Muscovites. But it burns not with blue, but with bright yellow flames near the Kremlin wall, precisely because of the design of the burner.

I found an infographic on the Internet that clearly shows the burner design. Thanks AiF

After the procedure was completed, the entire structure was reassembled.

At the end, the flame of the Eternal Flame was lit by the head of MOSGAZ, Hasan Gasangadzhiev, and a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and the gas industry, Viktor Volkov.

The current inspection of all systems is special - timed to coincide with Defender of the Fatherland Day and the half-century anniversary of the monument itself, so all Russian federal television channels decided to capture this moment.

On February 23, as always according to the old tradition, at the Eternal Flame, Vladimir Putin honored the memory of the fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier...

Good evening, dear sirs and ladies!

Introduction

With this post I continue my research into the occult nature of many buildings in Moscow and the USSR as a whole. I will say right away: this topic is practically bottomless, like the fiery lake of the abyss, into which, at the end of our world, hell and its inhabitants will be cast out.

Without claiming absolute truth, I will try to outline the specific mechanics of the magic stone called “the tomb of the unknown soldier”, as well as the second magical device - the ziggurat, better known as the mausoleum.

Moreover (attention my critics!), I will point out the specific connection of these magic crystals with the Moscow metro and, in particular, with the Dobryninskaya metro station. So, the article will have a specific continuation, and its beginning lies in the depths of my LiveJournal - let those who know understand...

I continue to argue that the preservation in the Russian Federation and other post-Soviet countries of Bolshevik toponymy, monuments to revolutionaries and their ideological inspirers, praise of the Great Patriotic War and other acts of the current rulers have a practical magical meaning, and are not simply “respect for the historical past.” They just work as magicians...

Therefore, the people of the Russian Federation continue to be under the hood of the Bolshevik magicians, who have entangled our entire society with their Chaldean and Egyptian magic.

Yes, I almost forgot, there will be a lot of pictures in this post again!

Five-pointed star - reflection in the sky and on the political map

Dear readers! Let's take a look at the political map of the USSR, made in the Council of Deputies. What do we often see? That's right - the Bolsheviks depicted Moscow and the capitals of other republics of the former USSR in the form of five-pointed red stars.

Do you think this is a simple geographical metaphor? No. This is the seal with which the Bolsheviks protected their possessions from competitors, the main one of which was the Orthodox Church.

The five-pointed star is a long-standing symbol of Satanism, or more precisely, the devil himself. So he is depicted as horned-eared-bearded.

My critics often cite the example of the use of five-pointed stars in Holy Rus', including the shoulder straps of tsarist officers. Right. But when dealing with a symbol, you need to consider who is using it. So an inverted cross can be a symbol of Satanists, or maybe Roman Catholics. In the first case, we observe the apeism of Satan, who came up with nothing but to turn over the Life-giving Cross of Jesus Christ. In the second, we see a tradition that goes back to the Apostle Peter, who was crucified on an inverted cross, arguing that he did not deserve to be killed by the method of His Teacher.

So it is with the five-pointed star. As a geometric figure, the star is neutral, but the Bolsheviks were conscious fighters against God. And how many Orthodox Temples did they destroy? How many people mocked the relics of saints and other shrines? How many priests and laity were killed for the Orthodox Faith? Therefore, in the Bolshevik interpretation, a five-pointed star can have only one atheistic meaning - a sign of worship of the devil and his angels.

Therefore, the geographical representation of Moscow in the form of a red five-pointed star is nothing more than a sacred view from space. This is how Moscow (and other Soviet cities) are seen from the infernal world. Or the way they would like to see her there.

Moreover, please note, the USSR was often placed below the North Pole. This is also an important sign - Satan has always dreamed of placing his throne in the north, above the stars (Angels) of God. Therefore, the image of the North Pole as a reference point for the Council of Deputies is far from accidental.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

But what is the technique for sealing the country of the Soviets with the satanic pentagram?

I would venture to suggest that the mechanics of the influence of the pantheon of “gods”, captured in the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” complex, is something like this.

The red star is displayed in the firmament of the sky, in thin fields, where it acquires such monstrous dimensions. Readers have probably more than once been able to contemplate their own shadow, which at the moment of sunrise and sunset or when a spotlight is turned on horizontally to the ground can reach gigantic proportions. You understand the subtlety: the object is small, but its light, wave and other mirror image takes on enormous dimensions.

In general, any objects are reflected in water. And the air itself is constantly filled with water. Look at a category such as humidity - a school physics course. In the clouds, in different air environments, we can observe the reflection of any objects.

Moreover, fire should be reflected in air mirrors, because it is a source of light. Together with his stellar support.

You won’t be able to see a huge star over Moscow in a simple way, but if you put on infernal glasses... and sit in the airspace in the polar latitudes!

Eternal flame

The main component of the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” complex is, without a doubt, the “eternal flame” (gas fired). Since I have already written about the satanic meaning of the symbol, we will skip this section this time.

Something else is important for us: the principle of the construction of the temple. And this is how it works. Below lie the bones of a murdered warrior (presumably a baptized Orthodox Christian). It is clear that red magic is used here, that is, magic that uses human blood for its rituals. This is the sacrifice over which funeral feasts will be celebrated.

This blood is placed under red granite brought from Mesopotamia - the center of the Chaldean magical tradition. A hole is made in the granite into which a gas pipe is connected, symbolically identified with the serpent.

This infernal serpent represents the source of fire. What a change! Satan is the source of light?! Eternal light! Therefore, fire comes out from the center of the pentagram, which can be identified with the mouth of the devil, from which this very “eternal fire” spews out. Well, it’s very symbolic.

Fresh flowers are brought to this consuming fire. These are also victims that must be mystically burned by him. It’s good that living people (“Russian fascists”) are not roasted on eternal fire!

For information, I will inform you that the pagan Roman eternal flame, which was guarded by the vestal priestesses, was abolished by the Christian Emperor Theodosius already in 391 after the Nativity of Christ.

As we see, Christians threw the remnants of pagan beliefs into the trash without regrets. Alas, corrupted France and the satanic Soviet of Deputies have become a refuge for ancient filthy rituals...

Hero Cities (4-7-12)

Hero Cities are a visible continuation of the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” complex. The practice of creating a complex is the same. The foundation of each hero city, which is represented by a granite parallelepiped, was laid with soil from the battle sites. The land is a priori soaked in the blood of war victims. Again we see red magic!

The number of hero cities is also interesting - there are currently 12 of them. Many hero cities do not belong to the Russian Federation. But no one is removing them (although why would it seem to worship Odessa, Kerch, Sevastopol, Kyiv, Minsk, Brest?). But the tradition continues.

It is interesting that at first the number of hero cities was 4 (1945 after the Nativity of Christ); in 1965 from the Nativity of Christ, when they began to actively build the myth of “WWII”, the number increased to 7 (the number of planets along with the moon and sun in Chaldean astrology); currently there are 12 such cities (the number of zodiac constellations in the astrology of many countries, including the Chaldean, Egyptian and Hellenic-Roman traditions).

Now attention! The grand opening of the memorial took place on May 8, 1967, after the Nativity of Christ. The Eternal Flame broke out, lit from the fire of Eternal Glory at the grave of the heroes of the “great October socialist revolution” on the Field of Mars in Petrograd (“Leningrad”). The torch with fire was accompanied from Petrograd to Moscow by a delegation led by the hero of the USSR, pilot A. Maresyev.

This is pure religious worship!

Firstly, we see a direct pagan connection between “vosr” and “vov”.

Secondly, the fire endured is a sacrament. As they say, “from candle to candle.” Therefore, the worship of the “eternal flame” goes back not to 1945 after the Nativity of Christ, but to 1917 after the Nativity of Christ - to the Bolshevik revolution. So, we have to worship “Grandfather Lenin”...

Thirdly, the torch was assigned to be transferred to “god” - the hero of the USSR. Hero is a concept in the Hellenic tradition that combines an attitude towards the world of the dead. The hero is a transitional link. For example, among warriors in Hellas there was a tradition of killing to convey a message to the dead. Thus, the hero of the USSR is a person mystically connected with the world of dead “fighters for socialism.”

Yes, it turns out interesting in the end...

The eternal flame symbolizes the courage and bravery of the soldiers who gave their lives for a brave cause. When the Nazi occupiers violated the non-aggression pact and treacherously invaded the territory of the Soviet Union, everyone, young and old, contributed as best they could to the Great Victory. Most of the boys and girls volunteered to go to the front to beat the enemy, those who did not go to the front stood behind the machines, making shells and tanks for the Soviet army, mostly these workers were children.

The first days and months of the war were very difficult and tense. With incredible courage and bravery, the Soviet people defended their great Motherland. Volunteer partisan detachments were organized in the Belarusian forests, which through their actions tried to disrupt Adolf Hitler’s lightning-fast plan to seize the Soviet Union.

Opening of the first Eternal Flame of Glory

One of the first monuments to soldiers killed in battle was opened back in 1921. The memorial complex was built under the Arc de Triomphe in the French capital, Paris.

In the collapsed Soviet Union, in Moscow, in honor of the celebration of the Great Victory in 1955, the Eternal Flame was solemnly lit at the monument. However, it is difficult to call it “eternal”, since it was lit periodically, only a few times a year:

  • to celebrate Victory Day;
  • on the Day of the Armed Forces and the Navy, later, since 2013, on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland;
  • on the Day of Liberation of Shchekino.

The truly Eternal Flame is considered to be the fire in St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad), which was lit on November 6, 1957 on the Field of Mars.

Today there are only three such memorial complexes in the capital. The first Eternal Flame was lit on February 9, 1961. Over time, the gas pipeline supplying gas deteriorated, and starting in 2004, it was temporarily turned off while repairs were being carried out, and by 2010 it was turned on again.

Monuments and memorial complexes built in the 50-60s of the twentieth century have become fairly worn out by our time. Gas pipes leading to fire are especially affected. Therefore, the government annually allocates funds to reconstruct and replace pipes at many of the country's monuments as quickly as possible.

Photos of the memorial complex

The photo below shows the Eternal Flame at the Kremlin Wall, which was lit at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in 1967. The opening ceremony was chaired personally by Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev. In 2009, the fire was moved to Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill. In 2010, it was returned again to the Kremlin wall.

Representatives of the Moscow Veterans Society made a proposal to open a memorial on Poklonnaya Hill. The public warmly supported this initiative, because such monuments symbolize the eternal memory of fallen soldiers and teach modern youth not to forget the terrible pages of the history of their country.

The following remarkable and brave citizens were honored to light the Eternal Flame:

  1. Vladimir Dolgikh, a participant in the fighting during the defense of Moscow, an honorary citizen, and chairman of the Council of War and Labor Veterans.
  2. Hero of Russia Colonel Vyacheslav Sivko.
  3. Representative of the public organization Nikolai Zimogorodov.

After the opening of the memorial complex, this place became the most visited in the Russian capital. Not only Moscow residents come here, but also numerous tourists who want to see the sights of the hero city.

Is the Eternal Flame necessary?

Modern youth are less and less interested in history and those distant, troubled days of the Great Patriotic War. There are fewer and fewer people left who passed through the fiery walls of hell in those years. But nevertheless, we must never forget about the feat that our fathers and grandfathers accomplished in the name of peace for future generations. One of these reminders are monuments and memorials with an eternal and unquenchable flame, reminiscent of the heroic deeds of soldiers on the battlefields.

When designing and restoring monuments, experts are thinking about how to make an Eternal Flame, but there are people and officials who are against this. They argue this by saying that extra material costs are needed for the installation and maintenance of gas exhaust pipes and burners. But it is very good that there are only a few such people, because the Eternal Flame symbolizes the eternal memory of the feat that people accomplished in the name of peace.

Where do veterans meet?

In many cities of the vast expanses of Russia, monuments and memorials with the Eternal Flame have been opened. These places have long become attractions and calling cards of cities; they attract many people of different ages, guests and tourists. For veterans, they serve as a meeting place and remembrance of distant war days and fallen comrades.

On the day of the celebration of the Great Victory over the Nazi occupiers, May 9, fresh flowers are brought to monuments and memorials and wreaths are laid. Here they very often set up a field kitchen for veterans with the mandatory one hundred grams of front-line food.

Eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

During the bloody battles, a huge number of soldiers and officers went missing. The remains of dead soldiers are still being found at former battlefields. During the defense of Moscow back in 1941, a huge number of workers and soldiers were killed; in their honor, the monument “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” was built in 1967. At its foot, pointed flames burst out from a bronze five-pointed star, symbolizing the unforgotten exploits of the heroes.

The Eternal Flame monument serves as a meeting place, because every day people bring fresh flowers to it, thereby honoring the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives for a bright future. It serves as a meeting place for students from Moscow (and not only) schools with war veterans. Each child then records what they see by creating a drawing. The eternal flame burns with a bright flame in young hearts.

Creating a drawing

How to draw the Eternal Flame? Before you start sketching, you need to look at it in person at least once. It is best to make a sketch without leaving the memorial, this way you can choose the most suitable angle. The monument should be photographed in order to complete the begun drawing at home.

On a piece of paper you need to sketch out the outline of the memorial. It is important to remember when creating a drawing: The eternal flame should not reach the edges of the sheet; two to three centimeters should be left. In this case, the image will turn out beautiful and voluminous. The sketch and the drawing itself should be done with a sharp pencil, drawing light lines.

Shutdown

The next step is to draw clearer outlines. Parents can give their children their advice on how to draw the Eternal Flame, but it is better to do it in the shape of a five-pointed star in the form of rays with all sides of the figure completed.

To add volume from each vertex of the star, we raise (lower) perpendicular lines relative to the entire picture and connect them with parallel lines. The final moment will be connecting the center of the star with its vertices. After this, you should proceed directly to drawing the flame. It is better not to paint the tongues of fire in a flashy bright red color, but to make them orange-red.

Finally, use an eraser to remove all auxiliary lines and color the picture using colored pencils or watercolors.

Hero Cities

The inscription on the granite slab of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier memorial reads: “Your name is unknown, your feat is immortal.” In continuation of the historical ensemble, parallel to the Kremlin wall, urns with soil taken from the hero cities were installed: Minsk and Leningrad, Sevastopol and Kyiv, Kerch and Volgograd, Brest and Smolensk, Tula and Murmansk.

As you can see in the photo, the “Eternal Flame” is a monument that is always crowded with people. The flame burns constantly, and the top of the memorial ensemble is decorated with a soldier's helmet cast in bronze, a laurel branch and a battle flag. On May 9, Victory Day, thousands of people come to look at the Eternal Flame, as well as veterans who take a minute of silence to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers who showed extraordinary courage and fortitude in the struggle for freedom during the Great Patriotic War.

Craft for Victory Day

The “Eternal Flame” craft, made with your own hands, will be the most beautiful and expensive gift that a schoolchild can give to his grandparents who fought. On the eve of the holiday, at school and at home, adults should have a conversation with children about the heroic exploits of Soviet soldiers on the battlefields against the Nazi occupiers.

The craft is made from paper or other available materials. It should not be complicated so as not to discourage children from doing it. To make an Eternal Flame out of paper, a child will need perseverance, attentiveness, and the ability to use scissors and glue. Such crafts are best done by middle school students, fifth and sixth grade students. To make a gift you will need scissors, colored paper, glue, a simple pencil and a ruler. First you need to draw a star on the back of the colored paper, cut it out and glue the three-dimensional shape. You also need to do the same with the image of fire.

You can make an Eternal Flame with your own hands in an easier way. To do this, you will need the following ingredients: half a glass of flour, water and one tablespoon of vegetable oil. Ask your elders or try to knead the dough yourself. From it, like from plasticine, mold a cake and press it down with something flat, such as a saucer or plate. From the resulting cake, cut out a five-pointed star with a knife. Make five small fire holes in the middle. To make flames you will need red colored paper. On the back side you should draw a fire, then cut it out. There should be five flames. Having cut them out of paper, they need to be inserted into the holes made in the dough. The craft is ready, and you can give it to your grandparents!

The fire of Eternal Glory burns

Many representatives of the younger generation do not even know that their grandfathers and great-grandfathers once fought for the freedom of their Motherland. The primary task of teachers and parents is to work with children, aimed at ensuring that they do not lose the thin thread connecting the history of past glory and the realities of present life. Almost no one can answer the question of when the first Eternal Flame was lit; few can tell why it burns and what it symbolizes. Stories about war are an integral part in the upbringing and development of a child.

The eternal flame in Moscow and many cities in the vast expanses of the Motherland burns at the foot of memorial ensembles and monuments.

Memory is imperishable

In Cherkessk, during the celebration of Victory Day in 1967, a fire was solemnly lit at the memorial to the fallen liberating soldiers who gave their lives for the independence and freedom of Russia. From a conversation with the director of the local history center, S. Tverdokhlebov, it was possible to find out that he piece by piece collected information about the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War, defending the city of Cherkessk. Based on this material, a book was published and the memory of the heroes was immortalized in the form of a memorial complex with the Eternal Flame.

It is very important that the current generation never forgets about the terrible crimes against all humanity committed by the Nazi invaders, so that the horror of war that our grandfathers experienced is never repeated, especially since every year there are fewer and fewer living witnesses of those terrible and busy days.

Eternal Flame Compiled by: teacher-defectologist Kirchenkova E.A. Ryazan, 2015

The eternal flame is a constantly burning fire that burns in winter and summer, day and night. It symbolizes that the memory of the feat of the defenders of the Motherland will live forever.

On Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (May 9), and on other days, they bring flowers to the Eternal Flame, come to stand, be silent, and bow to the memory of the heroes...

In the main city of our country - the city of Moscow - three Eternal Flames were installed in memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War. One of them is located at the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” in the Alexander Garden (it is the main component of the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” complex).

The memorial architectural ensemble “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” was opened on May 8, 1967. L.I. Brezhnev lights the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (1967)

Since 1997, State Post No. 1 has been transferred to the Eternal Flame from the Mausoleum, to which the honor guard of the Presidential Regiment takes over. The Honor Guard Post at the Eternal Flame in Moscow at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (Post No. 1) is the main guard post in the Russian Federation. In accordance with the Decree of Russian President Boris Yeltsin (dated December 8, 1997), the Guard of Honor stands guard in the Alexander Garden near the Eternal Flame every day from 08.00 to 20.00. Post No. 1 Changing of the guard

There are many such graves on our land. These graves contain the remains of soldiers who died on the battlefield during the Great Patriotic War. Many soldiers died in that war. Not all of the dead could be identified, and not all of them had documents. The ashes of one of these soldiers are buried near the Kremlin wall in Moscow. Therefore, on the tombstone it is written: “Your name is unknown.” - Why do you think the grave is called the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier? - What does the second part of the inscription mean: “Your feat is immortal”? “This inscription means that people will always remember: the soldiers buried here died defending the Motherland, their relatives and friends, their children and grandchildren.

Two other Eternal Flames in Moscow are installed on Poklonnaya Hill and Preobrazhenskoye Cemetery. Eternal Flame (Fire of Memory and Glory) on Poklonnaya Hill Eternal Flame at Preobrazhenskoye Cemetery

The eternal flame in memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War burns in many cities of the former Soviet Union. The Eternal Flame on the Champ de Mars is the first Eternal Flame in the Soviet Union. All other eternal fires throughout the territory of our country were lit precisely from this fire. Eternal Flame on the Champ de Mars (St. Petersburg). Year of creation of the Eternal Flame on the Champ de Mars: 1956.

It is interesting that Post No. 1 in the city of Rostov-on-Don is one of the few, and perhaps the only place in Russia where high school students perform the guard of honor. The changing of the guards takes place every 15-20 minutes. The guards are dressed in full dress uniform and armed with machine guns. Schoolchildren study the charter, engage in marching, drill exercises and take a solemn oath. The post has been in effect since 1975. In our city (Ryazan) the Eternal Flame is located on Victory Square.

At the Eternal Flame, the tulips are drooping and looking at the ground. The ninth of May is the holiday of soldiers: So that you and I could live, they fought... Tulips are burning - flowers are like fires. The fire blazes at the mass graves, So that no one forgets the feat of the dead: The color is scarlet - the color of blood shed by war... But the fire is eternal - that means the hero is eternal! N. Samoniy Many poems, songs, and stories have been written on the theme of the Eternal Flame.

Eternal flame Eternal flame. Alexander Garden. Eternal memory to the heroes. Who was he, the unknown soldier, Honored by the Great Country. Maybe he was still a young cadet, or a simple militiaman. Maybe he was killed because he did not kneel before the enemy. Maybe he went into the attack at full height, the bullet reached him at the end of his life.
