Wider circle. Olga Molchanova: “Reviving “Wider Circle”? A great idea!” And they came for state money

The creator of the TV show “Wider Circle” Olga Molchanova received half a car as a gift from Philip Kirkorov

40 years ago appeared on our TV legendary program“Wider Circle” is the first domestic television show that discovered new talents. It was in this program that Yuri ANTONOV, Vyacheslav DOBRYNIN, Oleg MITYAEV, Dima MALIKOV, Natasha KOROLEVA, VALERIYA and many others made their debut on the silver screen famous artists. We asked the creator and permanent director of the program, Olga MOLCHANOVA, how the musicians thanked her for giving them a “start in life.”

“I have never built relationships with artists on a selfish basis,” Olga Borisovna admitted. - It’s no secret that back in Soviet times, some television employees took money or expensive gifts from artists for broadcasts. But in the folk art editorial office where I worked, this was not accepted. I remember only one case when they wanted to “punch” me.

There was such a very good musician and composer Ilya Slovesnik. He tried to sing himself. But because of his specific appearance, they didn’t take him anywhere as a singer. And, apparently, someone advised him to contact me. Like, I can push him into “Shira Krug” under the guise of an amateur artist. “Leave me a tape with your song! - I told him. - I don’t have time now. I'll listen to it later. And we will decide where it can be placed.” “Keep in mind that there is text attached to the film!” - the Wordman warned me. But I didn’t attach any importance to this.

After some time, he called me and asked if I had listened to his creation. “Sorry, I haven’t had time yet,” I replied. "How so? - the Wordman tensed. - There’s the text there!” - “So what? - I did not understand. “When I listen, I’ll take it out and look.”

Eventually I got my hands on his song. Indeed, in the box with the film there was a piece of paper with text. And either 50 or 70 rubles were wrapped in it. Considering our salary at that time was 200 rubles, this was decent money. But I didn’t even think about taking them. “Ilyusha, your song doesn’t suit me,” I told the Slovesnik. - And your text is bad. Take him back!”

If I showed a special affection for any of the artists, it was exclusively for those with whom I fell in love. I won’t deny that this happened periodically. Fortunately, I didn't have to make any compromises when I promoted my favorites in "Wider Circle". It so happened that I always fell in love only with talented people. And they deservedly appeared on television.

Chechen money

At one time, one of my favorites was Misha Muromov, continues Molchanova. - True, we did not establish contact right away. He then worked as a head waiter in a restaurant, and there were terrible rumors about him that he was some kind of dark person. At first this scared me.

My friend, a poetess, convinced me to pay attention to Misha. Rimma Kazakova, on the verses of which he wrote the song “Ariadne”. Having seen how enthusiastically the audience received him at the Soviet-Polish concert in Vitebsk and at the Zielona Gora festival in Poland, I changed my attitude towards him. And she began to constantly film him in “Wider Circle” as a singer and as a presenter.

Once upon a time a poetess Larisa Rubalskaya brought me the lyrics of the song “Strange Woman”. She wanted this song to be sung Alexander Serov. But Sasha said: “I won’t sing this. That's not mine". Then I offered to give " strange woman"Muromov. And Misha composed wonderful music.

I even had a chance to be present at his house during the recording. For some time Misha and I had an affair. I can admit that during this period I received expensive gifts from him. In particular, gold jewelry with precious stones. Maybe I shouldn't have taken them. But I justified myself by the fact that Misha, even without me, was in great demand on all television programs and gave me these gifts not as a TV worker, but as a beloved woman.

Later, when we were no longer so close, he remained my good friend and more than once provided me with help and support. I remember in the 90s, “Shire Krug” began to have problems with financing, and one day Chechen businessmen with whom the singer introduced me lent me money to film the program Yaroslav Evdokimov. The amount was huge at that time - 10 thousand dollars. Having learned about this, Muromov did not allow me to go alone to get this money. And he himself undertook to accompany me, so that, God forbid, nothing would happen to me.

And later, when “Wider Circle” was already airing on the TVC channel and I did not have enough money to pay for sound and lighting equipment, Misha gave money from his own pocket for these expenses and thereby helped my program exist. In general, he turned out to be a very grateful person.

Friends don't betray

I was pleasantly surprised by my other favorite - Philip Kirkorov, who also first appeared on television in my “Wider Circle,” says the creator of the television program. - He always treated me very touchingly. He invited me to his concerts and birthdays. And in Soviet times, he brought me cat food from Bulgaria, which was not sold here at that time. But I never counted on any serious help from him. All the more material.

I still had more than friendly relations with Misha Muromov. And with Philip - purely creative. Only three years ago I dared to turn to Kirkorov with a request for help. I then moved out of town. I needed a car to get to Moscow. I only had half the money to buy it. And I asked Philip to borrow the second half.

Without thinking for a moment, he replied: “Of course.” And he sent me his director with money. But that was not all. Then his director called me and said: “This money is a gift to you from Philip.” I was very touched by this. After all, at that moment Philip did not need me at all. And when I began to thank him, I heard in response: “You have done much more for me in this life.”

The composer also helped me Igor Krutoy- then “knocked out” a car for me, which I Soviet time I stood in line for a long time, then together with Misha Muromov I solved the problems with my apartment.

The most interesting thing is that at first I didn’t take Igor’s songs in “Wider Circle”. When he and Serov first arrived in Moscow, Sasha constantly offered them to me. But at that time Krutoy was under an unspoken ban on television. And I had to film Alexander with songs of other authors - Alexandra Pakhmutova, Vladimir Miguli, Evgenia Martynova.

Then, when Igor had already risen, he took “Wider Circle” under the wing of his company “ARS”. And we did the program with him for several years. One day, messengers from a company that competed with ARS came to see me. Sergei Lisovsky- his right hand Sergey Lotkov and singer Igor Sarukhanov. And they suggested that I go to Lisovsky. They promised to pay three times more than Krutoy. “Igor is my friend,” I said. “And, as you know, they don’t betray friends.” Apparently, Krutoy appreciated this. And since then he always told me: “If you need something, contact me!”

Nightmare and horror

But not all artists remember the kindness that was once done to them,” Olga Borisovna suddenly sighed. - In the early 90s, my son Oleg worked at the first Toyota car dealership in Moscow. A car was stolen right from their showroom by breaking a window. And 10 thousand dollars hung on it. I was shocked. There was an urgent need to raise this amount. And I have these huge money Of course it wasn't. “Maybe you can borrow from your artist friends? - asked the son. “In a month or a month and a half I’ll give them everything.”

Everyone I contacted is Misha Muromov, Slava Malezhik, Andrey Derzhavin, Igor Krutoy, - they responded to my request and lent as much as they could. Sasha Serov also promised to give me 2 thousand dollars. And when I came to see him for the filming of some television program at the Youth Palace, he unexpectedly announced that he was currently doing renovations and had no money.

Out of despair, I burst into tears. The next day the son had to give the money. And I just lacked 2 thousand. came up to me Vitya Markov- husband and producer of the singer Tanya Markova. “Olga Borisovna, why are you crying?” - he asked. I explained to him what happened. “What nonsense! - said Vitya. - Now I’ll go to Tanya. I think she has $2,000 in her purse.” And after 5 minutes he brought me this amount. At the same time, I cannot say that I had any friendly relations with Tanya Markova. I just filmed her sometimes, like many other artists. Nevertheless, in this situation, he and Vitya behaved very nobly.

Of course, I later settled with all the artists. But Serov’s act left an unpleasant notch in my heart. Then he acted just as ugly with Rimma Kazakova, whose songs based on her poems brought him success.

In the 90s, poets practically stopped paying royalties. And Rimma was in great need then. At her request, I called Serov and asked for 2 thousand dollars for her. "Come to me! - said Sasha. - We will go to Rimma together. I want to personally give her this money.”

He bought a bouquet of flowers and put an envelope in it. I believed that it contained the agreed amount. And only near Kazakova’s house Sasha admitted to me: “I don’t have two thousand. I only gave her one.” Although at that time he was very rich, and these 2 thousand were for him, as 200 rubles are for us now. It would seem like a small thing, but it really bothered me.

And my friendship with Serov ended in a very unpleasant story. For the singer’s 60th anniversary, the TVC channel instructed me to make documentary about him. For a whole month, Sasha blew my mind, refusing to film. Then he seemed to agree and handed over his entire video archive.

I was about to start work. But Serov suddenly refused again and for another month he harassed me and the whole film crew. He said that the film about him should be something special. He invited us to his Vacation home and demanded to film it with ten cameras against the backdrop of a dance party. In general, he put forward unimaginable ideas.

It ended up that we decided not to do new filming and instead picked up pieces from Serov’s old interviews, which he partially gave to me himself.

When I brought him the finished film, he seemed very pleased and thanked me. But the next day he called and said: “Everything needs to be redone. I must be present during the installation myself. Otherwise, I will prohibit the screening of the film." He was especially outraged that his ex-wife Lena. Although she only told good things about Sasha - how beautifully he looked after her, what a wonderful husband and father he was, and how she regretted breaking up with him. And most importantly, the film has already been accepted by the channel. The broadcast day was set.

To reassure Serov, the channel gave him two editing shifts to make corrections. He made 2-3 minor comments and left. And he angrily told me on the phone that I was a bastard, old... and he wouldn’t have anything to do with me anymore. Then the TVC channel repeated this film probably eight times. And every time - with an amazing rating. Everyone who watched it was wildly delighted. And they said that no one had ever filmed anything better about Serov. But despite this, Sasha still continued to snort that this was some kind of nightmare and horror. It looks like he's just a little out of his mind.

One of the most successful projects in the history of not only Russian, but also world television, the program “ Good night, kids! In the near future, it will be included in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-running children's program in the world!

The program has existed since September 1964. She never stopped airing and was always popular. The third generation is already watching it.

The history of the birth of the program “Good night, kids!” dates back to 1963, when the editor-in-chief of programs for children and youth, Valentina Ivanovna Fedorova, while in the GDR, saw an animated series telling about the adventures of a sandman. This is how the idea came to create in our country evening program for children. On September 1, 1964, its first issue was released. Alexander Kurlyandsky, Eduard Uspensky, Andrey Usachev, Roman took part in the creation of the program Seph and others. The program was conceived as a “Bedtime Story.” And immediately the program had its own voice, its own unique song “Tired Toys Are Sleeping,” which lulls the little ones to sleep. The music for the lullaby was written by composer Arkady Ostrovsky, the lyrics were written by poetess Zoya Petrova, and the lullaby was performed by Oleg Anofriev, and a little later by Valentina Tolkunova . The screensaver in the form of a plasticine cartoon was made by Alexander Tatarsky.

The first episodes of the program were in the form of pictures with voice-over text. Then came puppet shows and small plays in which actors played Moscow Art Theater and the Satire Theater. The puppet shows included Pinocchio and the hare Tepa, dolls Shustrik and Myamlik . In addition, the participants in the program were children 4-6 years old and theater actors who told tales.
The creators of the program argued for a long time about the name. There were several options: “Evening Tale”, “Good Night”, “Bedtime Story”, “Visiting the Magic Man”
Tick-Tock " But on the eve of the first broadcast, they decided on a name for the program: “Good night, kids!”

In the early 70s, the current heroes of the program appeared on the screen - Piggy , Stepashka, Filya and Karkusha , which the children immediately fell in love with.

When in the early 80s the decision was made to replace the dolls with people, the indignation of millions of viewers knew no bounds, and two months later the dolls took their usual places. In its long screen life, "Good Night" has survived all sorts of times. More often than not, clouds gathered over Piggy , and for the most unexpected reasons. For example, once the State Television and Radio Board asked the question why all the dolls in the program blink, but Piggy - No. Until 2002 Piggy spoke in the voice of the oldest program worker, Natalya Derzhavina. We can say that she dedicated her life to her beloved pig. “He sometimes gets completely out of control,” she said in an interview. “Whenever I blurt something out, I even have to apologize.” For him - not for yourself. Sometimes it seems to me that we just have a common blood circulation...” Everyone knows her memorable hoarse voice, and the actress’s house was literally littered with toy pigs - gifts from friends and viewers. After Natalya Derzhavina died, Piggy began to speak in Oksana's voice Chabanyuk.

The first actor to voice Filya was Grigory Tolchinsky . He liked to joke: “I’ll retire and publish the book “Twenty Years Under Aunt Valya’s Skirt.” Today's voice of Fili is actor Sergei Grigoriev.

For a very long time they could not find the character of Karkusha. Many actresses who auditioned for the role were unable to get used to the image of the funny crow, until Gertrude Sufimova came to Good Night. And it was already impossible to imagine Karkusha differently... When the actress died in 1998, at the age of 72, a crow settled on the hand of actress Galina Marchenko.

Stepashka is voiced by Natalya Golubentseva. The actress often uses her character’s voice in real life. Hearing it, even strict traffic cops become kinder before their eyes and forget about the fine. The actress became so comfortable with Stepashka that she pasted a photo with him into her certificate of Honored Artist.

Filya appeared first in the now famous five characters. This joyful event for the kids and their parents happened on May 20, 1968. The prototype of the current universal favorite was found by the editor of the program “Good night, kids!” Vladimir Shinkarev, who came up with this name for the dog.
Piggy's birthday is considered to be February 10, 1971. The bunny Tepa was sitting at the table in front of the TV viewers, the presenter “Aunt Valya” (Valentina Leontyeva) appeared: - Hello, guys! Hello Tepa! Oh, someone hit me on the leg. Tepa, do you know who this is? - I know, Aunt Valya. This is a piglet. He lives with me now. - Tepochka, why does he live under the table? - Because, Aunt Valya, he is very naughty and does not want to leave from under the table. - What's your name, little pig? - asked Valentina Leontyeva, looking under the table. And in response I heard: “Piggy.”

Leading in different time there were Vladimir Ukhin (Uncle Volodya), Valentina Leontyeva (Aunt Valya), Tatyana Vedeneeva, Angelina Vovk, Tatyana Sudets, Yuri Grigoriev, Yulia Pustovoitova, Dmitry Khaustov. Currently, the hosts are actress Anna Mikhalkova, Oksana Fedorova, and actor Viktor Bychkov.

In the late 80s, the screensaver and lullaby song changed for a while. Instead of a TV and toys sitting around it, a drawn garden and birds appeared. New song"Sleep, my joy, sleep..." (music by Mozart and B. Flies, Russian text by S. Sviridenko) performed by Elena Kamburova.

In the late 90s and early 2000s, the screensaver and lullaby changed several times (including a return to Tatarsky’s plasticine animation).

Currently produced by the television company “Class!” Airs on the Russia TV channel on weekdays at 20:45 local time. Previously aired on the TV channels “ORT” (1991-2001), “Culture” (2001-2002).

In 1999, the program did not air because there was no place for it on the broadcast schedule; a television series was broadcast instead.

Each doll is treated very carefully - they are brought to the studio only for the period of filming, and the rest of the time the animals spend in a special storage room. There they are looked after: cleaned, combed, changed. Here, in cardboard boxes, is the entire doll's wardrobe. Fili and Stepashka, for example, have their own tailcoats with butterflies. Piggy has a real leather jacket with rivets, Karkusha has a countless number of bows.
The dolls themselves are updated approximately every three years, and worn-out sets are sent to the same storage facility. Over the course of 37 years, it’s impossible to count how many Piggy, Stepash, Karkush and Fil have accumulated there. By the way, one day the program management decided to order new dolls from England. We sent the British models and photographs. But as a result, the imported animals turned out to be completely different from their native ones.

“We treat our dolls like children,” says production designer Tatyana Artemyeva. “We dress, put on shoes, take care of them, and sometimes even put on makeup for them. Piggy, for example, used to be made of a material that glittered and had to be powdered. And 7-8 years ago he was modernized, now his head is made of artificial suede, but we still powder him, now for color.”
After each shooting, the dolls are given a rest: “They heat up, as we believe, not from the hand of the puppeteer, but from the energy that he transfers to the toy so that it comes to life. Therefore, after filming, the dolls are placed on a special ladder, where they can cool down, rest and sleep. So “tired toys sleep” is about us.”

The announcers were no less loved than the dolls: Aunt Valya (Valentina Leontyeva), and Uncle Volodya (Vladimir Ukhov), who hosted the program until 1995. In 2005, Ukhov had a stroke; since then he has been at home and moves only around the apartment. After Uncle Volodya, Aunt Sveta (Svetlana Zhiltsova), Uncle Yura (Yuri Grigoriev), and later Aunt Lina (Angelina Vovk) came to the program. All of them are now retired. Today the program is being conducted

Former Miss Universe Oksana Fedorova and Anna Mikhalkova, daughter of the famous director Nikita Mikhalkov. By the way, over time, the style of communication on the program has changed a lot - they stopped addressing the hosts as “You” and calling them “aunts”: now it’s just Oksana and Anya who visit their favorite characters. But the dolls still call actor Viktor Bychkov Uncle Vitya, because he is older than both Fedorova and Mikhalkova. He has the image of a kind neighbor who always comes to the rescue in difficult times, funny joke solving any problem.

funny incidents there was a lot on the set. Puppet animals were sometimes mistaken for real ones. Piggy especially got it. For example, when he was filmed in a dolphinarium, one of the dolphins dragged him underwater with him. And once a bear ate his head, mistaking Piggy for a live pig.

Political “sabotage” was also attributed to the program. Allegedly, when Nikita Sergeevich Khrushchev’s famous trip to America took place, the cartoon “The Frog Traveler” was urgently taken off the air. When Mikhail Gorbachev came to power, it was not recommended to show a cartoon about the bear Mishka, who never completed the job he started. But the transmission staff considers all this to be coincidences.

Filming the program was sometimes very difficult. In a puppet show, the actor holds the doll in his arms, but here the actors had to work while lying on the floor.

Today, three rooms are used for filming the program. There is a living room and a games room. And in the future, the heroes will have their own studio-home. Animal neighbors will settle in it and a new hero- Bibigon.

How Piggy was called “unclean meat”, and cartoons were “politicized”

Remember how at a “tender age” you regret the time spent on sleep: it seems that if there were no adults around, you would be awake 24 hours a day! Of course, my mother’s persuasion to go to bed sounded unconvincing then... Fortunately, Piggy, Karkusha or our Ukrainian, Buratino, were in time to help her. For every Soviet child, the doll's head on the glove was a much greater authority than teachers or parents. Only she knew how to educate unobtrusively, without didactics, so to speak. That's why "Evening Tales" in different interpretations had the largest audience - one that cannot be bought for any price.

The fact that each of us remembers “our own” “Evening Tale” is not surprising. Over the years of the existence of the television format, there have been a lot of transmission options for the little ones. Firstly, every fraternal republic had its heroes, and secondly, even in our country in different years clones appeared, organized according to the principle and similarity of the pioneer program: “Evening Fairy Tale”, “On Good Day, Children”, “Katrusin Cinema”, “Visiting a Fairy Tale”... But the palm, of course, belongs to the old-timer project - the program "GOOG night kids".

Stepashka “hooked up” Tyopa

All the “live” and “glove” presenters of evening fairy tales owe their national fame, first of all, to the editor-in-chief of programs for children and youth of the USSR State Television and Radio, Valentina Fedorova. This is what she saw in 1964 during a business trip to the GDR

Cartoon about the Sandman who put babies to sleep. Fedorova returned to the USSR and started her project called “Bedtime Story,” the goal of which was to mentally prepare children for bed. The idea of the program was in the air, because most parents, while fulfilling and exceeding the plan, simply had no time to read a traditional fairy tale to their child. True, the first issues looked somewhat primitive: the story read in voice-over was illustrated with static pictures. Later, puppet shows with the hare Tyopa, dolls Shustrik and Myamlik, and then skits with the participation of real artists from the Moscow Art Theater and the Satire Theater began to be performed in front of television viewers.

“Classics of the genre” - the dog Filya, the piglet Khryusha and the bunny Stapashka, voiced by actors from the famous theater of S. Obraztsov, appeared already in the 70s.

I remember watching “Good Night, Kids” was a nightly ritual. I don't know what had to happen for my sister and I to miss graduation. And the mother of Khryusha and Stepashka “blackmailed” us. Those who behaved inappropriately were not put in a corner - the punishment was more sophisticated; those who committed the fine were deprived of the pleasure of watching “Good Night...”, recalls Oksana Taradyuk from Kiev.

My parents (like everyone else, probably) tried every year to take their child to the sea - to improve their health, breathe in the healing air and relax on the quiet. Since the capabilities of the Soviet proletariat were somewhat limited, housing in Crimea was chosen on the principle of “cheap and cheerful”: among the amenities in the seaside “caravanserais” there was a plank toilet on the street, and for comfort - a refrigerator for 8 families. Of course, there was no talk about TV. So, on the first day at the seaside there was no need to put me to sleep - I was very tired. But on the second day, no amount of cotton candy or soda could calm the child. I want “Good night, kids,” and that’s it! The next day, the delegation went to the owner of the bungalow and asked for the coveted 15 minutes in front of the TV for me. So Khryusha, Filya, Stepasha and Karkusha saved our vacation,” says Alina Morozyuk from Kiev.

Thanks to all the "uncles" and "aunts"

The program “Good night, kids” is still alive and well on the Rossiya channel, however, the hosts of the program are no longer called as they once were: Aunt Valya (Valentina Leontyeva), Uncle Volodya (Vladimir Ukhin ), Aunt Sveta (Svetlana Zhiltsova), Aunt Lina (Angelina Vovk), Aunt Tanya (Tatyana Vedeneeva and Tatiana Sudets )… Animals turn to adults in a familiar way - by name and “you”.

Once I was riding in a taxi, the driver looked at me in the rearview mirror and said: “Aunt Nadya, I was brought up on your fairy tales. Thank you". I’m flattered and thank him, although I’m already used to the phrase “Aunt Nadya, thank you for our children,” and he continues: “Now my children are being raised on them.” I was embarrassed, I understand that this is no longer true - I haven’t been teaching “Fairy Tale” for many years. And he, seeing my reaction, laughed. It turns out that his dad was one of the first to learn how to record programs on tape. The home archive contains programs with my grandfather Panasom, Katrusei both her “Cinema Hall” and ours,” says ex-presenter Ukrainian version of "An Evening Tale" actress Nadezhda Baturina (Aunt Nadya).

According to the good Soviet tradition, pressure on the program “from above” grew in direct proportion to the people’s love. “Good night...” often

They attributed it to political (!) sabotage. Thus, during Khrushchev’s trip to the USA, the harmless cartoon “The Frog Traveler” was taken off the air, and under Gorbachev’s government it was not recommended to broadcast a cartoon about Mishka, who never completed the job he started. At the beginning of perestroika, it was a simpleton who was persecuted Piggy . Muslims sent a letter to Ostankino with a strict demand: “Remove pork from the frame. Our religion does not allow eating unclean meat...” The editors defended the Honored Pig of the USSR, retorting: “The Koran says that you cannot eat pigs, but Allah does not forbid looking at them.”

Grandfather Panas not yet rehabilitated

Didugana in embroidered shirt and with a chic gray mustache, modern Ukrainians know him not so much from fairy tales (although eyewitnesses claim that he read them masterfully), but from the famous tale. Rumor has it that “for the mood” Pyotr Efimovich Vesklyarov often laid it before the broadcast, to which management had to turn a blind eye. And so, at the end of the next live (!) broadcast, grandfather Panas allegedly said absolutely clearly: “ Otaka x...ya, baby, - love boys and girls " However, after the scandal broke out and the person responsible for the incident was removed from office, witnesses were found who refuted this case. Unfortunately, in the archive NTKU there is no recording of the historical release left - it is still not known where the truth is and where the lies are.

Olga Borisovna Molchanova, the “creative mother” as many famous artists now call her, has been the author and editor-in-chief of the program throughout its history. Editorial Folk art On Central Television in 1976, the idea was born to combine in one program not only different creative genres, but also performers different levels– both professionals and no one famous amateurs from different parts of the world. Castings were not held then; numerous talents were sought in another way, already forgotten to us.

Olga Molchanova: “ Our main source of information was letters. At that time the post office was very active, they brought us whole bags of them. And we had to read everything, put our signature on each one, indicating that the letter had been read.».

Of course, there were also those who got into the program on the recommendations of Olga Borisovna’s friends. For example, Honored Artist of Russia Natasha Koroleva.

Another not so young, but aspiring artist, Alexander Serov, who at that time was over 30, also got to the recording of a popular program on a recommendation.

***

But People's Artist of Russia Philip Kirkorov had to try hard to get to the shooting.

Olga Molchanova: “ My friend worked at the Gnessin School. She worked as an accompanist. She calls me and says “listen, Landa has a boy there - he sings mediocre, but is handsome like Zakharov, even somewhat similar to him.” Well, I didn’t go there anymore, since I said that my singing was average, I thought: “What should I go?” He called me, called me, I didn’t have time, and then he got through to me, and I said: “Come».

Young Philip seemed very musical boy, but she didn’t see any special singing talent in him. Although I was invited to the program. It is with greater delight that Olga Borisovna now speaks of the achievements of her now friend.

Olga Molchanova: “ I am amazed at how he was able to develop his voice and his capabilities from what little he had. This is the result of amazing work».

In the Wider Circle program, great prospects opened up not only for the vocalists. Famous comedian Gennady Vetrov also considers this his first television experience the beginning of a great variety life. While still a student, he was noticed by an acquaintance of Olga Molchanova at one of the competitions. Of course, Gennady himself did not expect such a development of events.

Gennady Vetrov: “ This is Olga Borisovna Molchanova, hello, I am the editor and director of the Wider Circle program! I want to invite you to the program!” Well, to be honest, I was shocked at the beginning, I thought it was a joke. I say: “What should I do?” - “Take your best room, come and we’ll rent it right away.”».

***

If so much popular artists started their creative path It was at the suggestion of Olga Molchanova that this suggests, at a minimum, that this woman was a real psychologist and had a keen sense of talent. There was only one episode in her life when her instinct deceived her! This happened during a meeting with Leonid Agutin.

Olga Molchanova: “ I didn't like him that much. But then they showed me a couple of soundtracks and I approved. But at the same time, I didn’t see any outstanding talent there. This is my only mistake in my entire life. We argued with Igor Krutoy, he told me: “I bet you that Agutin will be a star,” and I said: “Never!».

***

But the most wonderful story, perhaps, is the birth of new stars right during the filming of the program! We are talking about Vyacheslav Dobrynin, who was a composer and wrote a huge number of songs that were performed in the program. But one day he had to go on stage himself.

Vyacheslav Dobrynin: “ I had to go to the microphone and sing to the soundtrack that was prepared for Mikhail Boyarsky. Everyone waited until the last minute, he could not fly from Odessa, there was a delay there. And so I had to go out and save the day».

“Wider Circle” was a real breakthrough of that time! Firstly, first appearing on Central television Any person could do it, no matter where he was from or what his profession was. The main thing is talent. In addition, the creators of the program became pioneers in directorial decisions.

Olga Molchanova was born in Yekaterinburg on March 27, 1949. In 1976, the musical performance “Wider Circle” was broadcast on the central television channel. The program became an unprecedented breakthrough for that period - the ratings went through the roof. Olga Molchanova, editor of “Wider Circle”, was at the same time the inspirer, soul, creator and representative person of this project.

Awards and merits

Thanks to her participation, the domestic stage received stars whose names became known in every home. It was on the set of this program that such personalities as M. Zadornov, A. Malinin, Natalya Koroleva, F. Kirkorov and many others first appeared. For most artists of that time, Olga Molchanova became a second, creative, mother.

The presenter is an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. In addition, Olga Borisovna is a laureate of the national-scale “Ovation” award in the category “Making a special contribution to the development of music on television.” In 2001, “Wider Circle” was broadcast on the TVC channel. With the decline in the popularity rating of the program, Molchanova actively works in other countries, especially often visiting Israel.

Excerpts from the interview

Olga Molchanova, editor of “Wider Circle,” stated in one of her interviews that the anniversary edition of the program was filmed on February 11 in concert hall"Russia". It was led by five famous actresses, who at one time already played this role. Among them are Ekaterina Apina, Tatyana Ovsienko, and Jasmine. Diluted purely women's team the only male representative represented by an actor

The presenter of “Full House” R. Dubovitskaya said that it was she who gave impetus to Gena’s talent. By and large, Vetrov first appeared on TV screens in the 80s with a personal unique number - simultaneously playing a dozen instruments in the project “Wider Circle”. At that time the actor was a member theater group"Buff" from Leningrad. The first significant steps on stage in this program were made by the young Ukrainian Oleg Zhigalkin in the genre of parody. Now awarded the title People's Artist Ukraine.

According to Olga Molchanova, Oleg was serving in the army when his comrades wrote a letter to the editor saying that their colleague perfectly imitated popular artists and even imitated Zykina’s timbre. The editorial board decided to invite him to film set, and Zhigalkin, as a young soldier, climbed the ladder of popularity. For the first time, another star person appeared in the program - Nina Shestakova, well-known and very revered in the post-Soviet space, who worked for some time in the team of Sofia Rotaru. After years of oblivion, viewers were again able to see Nina in the anniversary program.

Olga Borisovna Molchanova, whose biography is full of numerous acquaintances (including on the personal front) with various stars, does not hesitate to say that feelings played a decisive role in the choice of a soloist to participate in the program. However, all such prerogatives justified themselves one hundred percent, since the people turned out to be truly talented, which is confirmed by the love of fans and time.

Difficulties and overcoming them

Igor Matvienko once brought a cassette with sketches of the group “Ivanushki International” with a request to listen to it and give a chance to the guys in the most popular program at that time, “Wider Circle”. After studying the material, Molchanova simply fell in love with this group, especially the lead singer I. Sorin, who, in her opinion, had incredible charm and talent.

The guys performed in several “Wider Circle” programs. According to Olga Molchanova herself, whose biography is full of various events, she is glad that with her help the team was at the peak of popularity. By the way, a unique creative “discovery” performed on the site - a mega-talented eight-year-old girl, Evgenia Aldukhova from Bryansk, who was predicted to have a great future. She performs with solo concerts and recorded more than twenty songs live.

Conflict moments with wards

When asked about conflict situations with celebrities, Olga Borisovna replied that such things had happened. For example, the episode with Tatyana Markova, which happened during filming in Pyatigorsk. The participants were accommodated in a beautiful and fashionable sanatorium; Tanya and her husband were given a junior suite. Kornelyuk, Y. Evdokimov and many others lived in the same apartments. There were only two suites allocated. Mikhail Muromova was placed in one together with the musicians, and the second was occupied directly by Molchanova, since the room was also the headquarters of the television program.

But Markova felt a little cramped and uncomfortable in her junior suite with her husband, and she, positioning herself as an unsurpassed star, gave an ultimatum, saying that if she was not moved to a suite, she would leave. The program would hardly have suffered from her absence, but Olga Molchanova, editor of “Wider Circle,” whose biography contains a minimum of conflict disputes, decided to give up her number to the artist.

"Creative Mom's" Favorites

Often, editors' so-called "own" artists are those who pay. In Soviet times, such a comprehensive practice practically did not exist, but organizers who were not entirely honest even then demanded financial compensation from the performers, knowing about their interest in television broadcasting. Olga Molchanova claims that such relationships with artists were unacceptable for her; she bet on those whom she “discovered” and loved.

She valued and developed talent and a promising future. This is Dmitry Malikov, who at the age of 16 performed the composition “Sunny City”. Definitely - Philip Kirkorov, seeing whom for the first time, the editor of “Wider Circle” doubted his brilliant career. Despite the impressive external data, combined with internal culture and musicality, the vocal part left much to be desired. " Creative mom"I didn’t even imagine that a person would make such a giant leap and become mega-popular pop singer. Among Olga Borisovna’s favorites:

  • Serov Alexander;
  • Yaroslav Evdokimov;
  • accordion guru Valery Kovtun;
  • Dobrynin Vyacheslav.

By the way, last artist fell into disgrace government agencies who approved the program participants. Despite this, Olga Molchanova, whose photo is presented below, promoted him to the big stage.

Personal preferences

At one time, one of Olga’s favorites was Mikhail Muromov. They formed a contact after a recommendation from a friend when Misha worked as a head waiter. For some time they had an affair with expensive gifts. After a cooling in relations, Muromov and Olga Borisovna Molchanova, whose biography is surrounded very often by stars, remained good friends. Many artists have more than once helped their “godmother” morally and financially.
