Drawing of a rat in pencil for children. How to draw a rat with a pencil step by step

Now we will draw the baby rat. To do this we will need pencils of varying softness, I use 4H, 2B and 6B. You can draw with one pencil, you just need to adjust the pressure on it. I had a white rat with red eyes, I loved her very much. She lived for about 3 years, then she developed a tumor and after six months she set off to travel through the eternal circle of samsara. They say that rats are smart, I won’t say that she was smart, but she was very grateful and loved to play, and more than anything else she loved to eat and eat. It’s a pity that they live so little, it’s so painful to part with your beloved “person.” Now let's start drawing a rat with a pencil step by step.

Step 1. I draw the outline hard pencil, I don’t press too hard so that the lines can be erased, otherwise when you press hard the stripes remain. We draw the outline of the head, muzzle, nose and eyes of the rat. Then we draw a stick that the rat will hold onto with its hands. Click on the picture to enlarge the image.

Step 2. We draw the lines in more detail, draw lines for the direction of the rat’s fur around the eyes, on the forehead. We draw the rat's fingers.

Step 3. Now I took soft pencil 2B and where the outline was, erase it with an eraser and draw parallel lines- hairs, look at the picture.

Step 4. Now we draw the fur on the rat’s head. How to do it. Let's start with the forehead. Lightly paint over the entire forehead (option 1), then I smeared it with my finger (you don’t need to smear it for a long time, just once or twice and you’re done (option 2)). Then we draw lines on top (option 3), and a liquefied example below. Just do everything in the direction of the fur, click on the next picture, there is already a rat there. Let's do it.

Step 5. Now we draw the other part of the rat’s face in the same way. We barely paint the muzzle and the nose a little, leaving the area around the nose and on top of the nose untouched.

Step 6. Next we modify the rat’s head using the same method. And since my finger was already covered in pencil, I just made a base for the body - rubbed it. We draw the fingers of the rat. We also begin to draw a stick, making dark strokes from the edges, then a little lighter (to see how to draw a trunk in detail -).

Step 7. We make strokes in the direction of the fur, a lot of strokes, smearing a little for uniformity, so that the background is gray.

According to eastern calendar, the patron animal of 2020 will be the Rat. But before you draw it on New Year, it is advisable to get to know each other a little better. In China, this rodent is revered as a symbol of wealth and prosperity; its presence in the house, according to beliefs, ensures the well-being of the family. It is not necessary to have a live animal, its image is enough, for example, beautiful picture in the living room or children's room.

5 different ways to depict the symbol of the year

During creative process you need to tune in to a positive mood and experience exclusively joyful emotions. It is not necessary to make the animal naturalistic, especially for those who do not have friendly feelings for this type. A stylized design will add charm to the rat, especially if you dress it up in a festive costume and make its face kind and smiling.

New Year's Remy

Together with your children, you can portray a cute character from the animated film “Ratatouille”. The patroness of 2020 is very fond of family events and is doubly happy if they are dedicated to her person. Following detailed instructions, even people who do not have professional skills can draw a rat.

To begin with, draw a circle at the top of the sheet - this is Remy’s head. It is slightly inclined to one side, so we mark the muzzle at an angle, as shown in the sample. We place the two upper sectors under the eyes, and the lower right one will house the nose.

Let's finish drawing the ears of the cartoon character and outline the line of the mouth, and also carefully work out the pupils and eyelids.

At the next stage, we give the little rat a wide smile and apply facial wrinkles. We add volume to the ears.

The muzzle is ready and it’s time to start working on the body. It occupies 2/3 of the total height and 1/3 falls on the head. First, draw the outline of the body with thin lines and draw out the front legs in detail.

In the lower part of the body we denote the knees and stomach. Add the hind legs with toes and a beautifully curved tail.

Color Remy with crayons, pastels or watercolor paints. If you wish, you can “put” a New Year’s cap on him.

Anime style rat

Japanese animation is perfectly suited for drawing the symbol of the New Year - 2020 according to the Eastern calendar. Children and teenagers will especially enjoy this “guarantee of good luck” - today anime has become one of the most popular hobbies of young people.

Used as a basis geometric figures, which make it easy to clarify proportions and apply details.

Advice: auxiliary lines should be made with a thin, sharpened pencil, hardness HB. Then they can be easily removed when the drawing is finalized.

We depict a circle and an oval touching – the head and body of an anime animal.

We draw the nose, trying to make its lines dynamic and expressive.

An almond-shaped eye and mustache complete the animal's face.

The ears should be large and slightly pressed, as if before a jump.

The front legs are slightly bent. They just fit in the space between the head and torso.

The hind legs, judging by their position, are preparing to run.

Unlike classic depictions, the anime rodent's tail is short. Perhaps this will appeal to those who suffer from rat phobia. After all, what frightens such people most of all is the animal’s long, bare tail.

A somewhat stern, but stylish hand-drawn gray rat in anime style, ready to protect its owner from all misfortunes.

Realism for Beginners

If representatives of the rodent order do not cause antipathy, you can try to draw them from life, based on the following step by step guide. This is one of the most simple ways images accessible to both adults and children.

  • The figure of the animal will consist of 3 identical circles, 1 of which is on the head and 2 on the body. First, let's mark out the composition so that it occupies sufficient space, leaving free “margins” around the perimeter.
  • We draw circles and draw the first and top of them - the future head. We attach a cone to it, which will later turn into a characteristic rat nose.
  • We designate a place for the ears and eyes (since the image is profile, only 1 of them is visible).
  • Next, draw the body in the form of intersecting circles arranged in a descending order.
  • The design of the paws includes 2 different-sized ovals and a circle. We draw the fingers, they “hide” a little behind each other, creating the illusion of perspective.
  • Next comes the turn of the tail. We depict it as two smooth curved lines, converging to a point.
  • Using a solid outline we combine the geometric shapes so that they are “inside” the image. It turns out to be a very realistic animal. We remove the auxiliary lines and work on the details: fur, whiskers, highlight on the pupil.
  • We paint the drawing with watercolors in gray and pink shades. There is no need to achieve three-dimensionality of the image. This is a graphic picture in Chinese style. You can find and add hieroglyphs with good New Year wishes to it.

Rat in pencil with shading

Having mastered some skills, you can try to depict the animal in a classic naturalistic manner. To make the work look impressive, you need to take care of high-quality materials. The beauty, clarity and purity of the drawing largely depends on the choice of paper and pencils.

  • Whatman paper, Goznak type, density 200gsm;
  • three types of pencils - H, HB and 2B (softer ones leave marks that are difficult to remove);
  • a high-quality eraser, you can also use a “knead” to clean heavy dirt;

Paper that is too thin, such as office paper or the kind that is used for children's albums, will not withstand repeated erasing with an eraser, and adjustments to initial stages drawings are inevitable. The top coating becomes deformed (lints) and dirt is difficult to remove, making the work look careless. Whatman – best option For graphic images. If you want to achieve textured strokes and lines, you can use fine-grained watercolor paper.

Place the sheet vertically. Let's outline the center and arrange the future drawing around it, highlighting the blank fields along the edges. If the image takes up more than 2/3 of the sheet, there will be a lack of “air” in the work.

You need to leave 2 times more empty space at the bottom than at the top. Then visually it will seem that the composition is placed clearly in the middle.

The figure of a rat can be fit into 2 ovals. The big one will be the body, the small one will be the head. We arrange them as shown in the example. Let's immediately outline the line of the tail. We use a pencil, hardness N. We begin to clarify the details. We outline the upper and lower legs, draw the muzzle. Please note that the rat has a high forehead, a small hump on the nose, and large whisker pads. The animal's ears stick out warily, sensitively picking up surrounding sounds.

Using an HB pencil we draw the fingers and add thickness to the tail. Use an elastic band to erase all the auxiliary lines.

Next, take the softest pencil - 2B and add volume to the head and muzzle of the animal. Through shading we emphasize the sockets of the eyes, the wrinkled tip of the nose, as if a rat is sniffing, and the furry cheeks. We completely shade the beady eye, leaving only a small highlight. We draw vibrissae - the small rodent has a lot of them.

It is important to apply strokes in one direction, parallel to each other. If in some place it is necessary to darken the drawing, they “pass” over it again and again until the desired effect is obtained.

Intensifying the pressure on the pencil, we draw the paws and emphasize the contour of the muzzle. There is no need to completely outline the image with a bright, saturated line, otherwise it will become flat. Using shading we emphasize the animal’s thick fur. By darkening the back, lower part of the head and tail, we make the rat three-dimensional. Don't forget to add a drop shadow. She is always the darkest. To enliven the drawing, let’s “treat” the animal with several grains of wheat.

Finally, we go around the image with a nag, removing the traces left dirty hand and a pencil.

So that you don’t lose your job in the future appearance, it is better to place it under glass.

How to draw a rat with a pencil step by step for beginners: video

About rats.

Rats are one of the oldest animals on planet Earth: they have existed for almost 50 million years. These representatives of rodents live everywhere: from countries with a tropical climate to continents with permafrost.

Some scientists have put forward a theory that rats could be the root cause of the extinction of dinosaurs, arguing that rats destroyed eggs. Perhaps all of their eggs were eaten by rodents, or most of them, which led to a low population level and, ultimately, extinction. A similar thing happened in the last century, when all the eggs of frogs were eaten by these animals in Ireland.

Nowadays, rats overrun the dungeons big cities, live and reproduce without losing their population even due to constant poisoning by humans and other methods of destruction.

Thanks to its sense of smell, a rat is able to detect even a small percentage of a toxic substance in food. This makes it very difficult for people to poison them. They can cover about 40 - 50 kilometers per day in search of food, reaching speeds of up to 10 kilometers per hour.

These rodents are distinguished by their special intelligence. Even representatives of ancient tribes mentioned these animals as the most intelligent and cunning inhabitants of the planet.

Rats are animals that live in clans of up to 200 individuals. Their body length can reach 50 centimeters, while their weight is 0.5 kilograms.

In an aggressive state, this animal is capable of attacking a person, jumping 70–80 centimeters in height.

The teeth of rats, like those of other rodents, are constantly growing, so it is vital for them to constantly gnaw hard objects, grinding down their incisors. A rat can chew through not only wood or plastic, but also concrete and metal. Because of these pests in big cities Sewer and water pipes are often affected.

These representatives of rodents communicate using ultrasonic signals, which are inaccessible human perception. Depending on the situation and the content of the “message,” rats change the frequency. Thus, relatives can receive a signal about the location of food or the threat of danger. Scientists have discovered the fact that they can not only convey messages, but also laugh using a certain sound. Using a special device, a “laugh” was detected, more reminiscent of the “chirp” emitted by a rat at the moment when it was tickled.

These rodents have excellent memory. Scientists conducted an experiment several times in which a rat had to make its way through a maze. After some time, she was again forced to perform the same task, but blindfolded. The result was always amazing: the animal never lost its way, reaching the goal the first time.

The rat is one of the hardiest creatures on earth. Each individual is capable of staying without water longer than any other mammal; fall from a great height and not break; get food from the bottom of the reservoir; stay in the water for up to 3 days, covering 30 kilometers.

Everyone knows that rats are carriers of dangerous infections that they themselves do not get sick with, but the stress to which these animals are exposed often harms their body.

A female rat can give birth to about a hundred pups per year. Often the cubs become food for their relatives, but the population does not decrease because of this. There is a statement that there are 2 rats for every person.

Thanks to their intelligence and extraordinary endurance, these rodents have lived on earth for many millions of years, and it is unlikely that humans will be able to interfere with their lives, because the survival experience of rats is in many ways superior to humans.

Let's look at how to quickly and easily draw a rat. Rats are unpleasant creatures for many, rodents from the mouse family that are found both in human homes and in the natural environment. Rats that live in houses are often active at night - they chew up everything that comes their way, steal food and spoil various things. However, few people know that rats are at the same time one of the smartest creatures on earth, they very quickly adapt to any environment, are able to learn through experience and do not fall into previously learned traps.

In this lesson we will draw a rat step by step.

  1. Let's draw something like a rounded triangle - we will fit into it the drawn rat, standing on its hind legs.

  1. Draw the body of a rat, as shown in the example. The rat's head smoothly transitions into the neck, the lower part of the body is rounded. For clarity, lines indicate the location of the paws and tail.

  1. Now we remove the auxiliary contour and draw the head of the rat with a black eye, antennae and ears.

  1. It's time to draw the rat's paws and long tail. We draw based on the outlined lines.

  1. Decorate the drawing of the rat with fur and draw rings on the bare tail.

Done, we drew a rat in a few steps.

IN Lately rats are increasingly being kept as pets. And it’s not surprising: these are very smart animals, very devoted to their owner. Some, however, are afraid of them and consider them aggressive. And it’s completely in vain, because most rats are funny and smart. So, let's figure out how to draw a rat.

Let's start with general forms. You need to draw two circles, one large and the other smaller. We immediately divide the smaller circle into four equal parts.

Let's add an elongated front part of the muzzle and two small semicircles - ears.

Let's connect the head and body to each other.

Now we need to outline the paws and the long curved tail. For now these will just be lines.

Let's work with the muzzle: we need to draw a round eye, nostrils and antennae.

You also need to slightly adjust the shape of your ears.

Let's get back to the paws. The rat’s fingers are short, neat, and have small “fingers.” Almost to the very soles of the paws are covered with hair - this also needs to be drawn.

Now the tail. It will be smooth, hairless, and not very thick.

Once the contours are outlined, you can remove the auxiliary shapes and lines. This must be done carefully - the main outline must remain in place.

Let's move on to shading. First, let's draw our own shadows - very easily, without pressure.

Then we will lay out the main tone. It’s good if the shading is not very neat - this way the structure of the coat will be better visible. We also need to depict a falling shadow.

Done, our drawing is completely completed. To better understand the lesson, you can watch this video.
