Celebrating the anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo. Program

Traditionally, festival program started on Friday. Organizers and masterminds They started a concert that delighted with soulful and patriotic songs until midnight. The first day of the festival ended with a requiem meeting with a torchlight procession to the tomb of the unknown soldier.

The busy program of the second day included competitive auditions, the work of a literary cafe, and continued performances at main stage, and entertaining master classes by such masters of the genre as Boris Shcheglov, Yulia Ziganshina, Alexander Evstigneev, founder of the Baklushi-beat group Alexander Pevny. Anyone could have their creativity assessed.

The bravest ones plunged into the cool water of the Nepryadva River. But it was still hot. A thunderstorm with strong winds came suddenly and drove the jury and contestants under the roof of the visitors' reception center. There the final audition round ended, which revealed the winner of the Grand Prix - the Moscow duet “Da-Da”.

In the evening the sky cleared and allowed the Saturday gala concert to end with brilliance. The following people visited the Kulikovka stage: Sergey Kanunnikov, Yulia Ziganshina, the group “Baklushi-Beat”, Mikhail Kalinkin, Anastasia and Alexander Evstigneevs, Mikhail Bashakov and the group “Bashakov-Band”, Boris Shcheglov, Alexey Vitakov, the group “Port September”, Ilya Olenev, Olga and Alexey Cheremisov.
The final chord was a bright fireworks display that thundered to the immortal songs of Victory.

Festival Sunday always brings a note of sadness at the end of the holiday. It's time to go home.
On my own behalf, I will add that the Kulikovo Pole complex is a place of amazing strength and energy. And every Russian person should visit it.
See you, “Kulikovka”! Hope to be back next year!

According to tradition, the celebration of the 636th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo will be opened by the military-historical festival “Field of Kulikovo”. This year, reenactors of the life and military traditions of Rus' and the Golden Horde of the Battle of Kulikovo era will gather at the crossing point of Dmitry Donskoy’s troops for the twentieth time.

The Kulikovo field is changing. On the 636th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo, the battlefield of the troops of Dmitry Donskoy and Mamai will open new museum, where the famous “The Tale of the Massacre of Mamaev” will be presented in a new way. But for those who live this event, everything remains the same. In the third week of September medieval history will once again bring reenactors from Russia and neighboring countries to the right bank of the Don. Here, at the Tatinsky Fords, where the Moscow prince Dmitry Ivanovich and his army crossed the Don on the eve of the battle, tents will be pitched. Fans of the living history movement and the era of the Battle of Kulikovo, dressed in historical costumes and armor, will often meet on the lists and compete in military all-around or equestrian competitions. The iconic place on the eve of the 636th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo will again plunge into the Middle Ages. And for several September days, lovers of the history of two cultures - Rus' and the Golden Horde - will live according to its laws.

The geography of the festival participants is extensive, among the applicants are representatives of military history clubs, individual participants and masters from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Among them are residents of Belgorod, Rybinsk, Ivanovo and Ivanovo region, Tula and Tula region, Cherepovets, Tver, Moscow and the Moscow region, Borisoglebsk, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Zheleznogorsk, Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov region, Pskov, Penza, Saratov, Bobrov, Ryazan, Vladimir and Vladimir region, Vorkuta, Sevastopol, Kharkov, Vitebsk.

At one of the most anticipated meetings, the results of unique experiments with weapons and armor will be presented.

Tula reenactors studied the capabilities of Russian and Horde weapons in combat conditions specifically for the new museum on the Kulikovo Field. Such experiments have not been carried out in our country until today. And not a single battle of historical fencing will allow us to truly understand the damaging and protective properties of arrows and chain mail, spears and shields, swords and helmets. The creators of the new museum on Kulikovo Field decided to tell visitors about this. And at the Kulikovo festivals of past years, members of military-historical clubs stabbed and chopped down reconstructed historical analogues Russian and Horde plate armor and chain mail, helmets and shields, hit them with arrows and spears, battle axes, poleaxes and flails were used. The experiments were filmed; the videos will be presented in the new museum, but the participants of the military history festival will see them first.

During the festival there will be a historical fair. A blacksmith and a potter will set up their workshops on the banks of the Don. Bead makers will demonstrate the process of creating gold-glass and mosaic beads and Horde tumars.
