Open box drawing. How to draw a New Year's gift on a graphics tablet

Let's make this a little more difficult. To teach you to really feel and control this empty flat piece of paper, I want to open up for you complex but interesting objects - empty boxes.

1. So, draw a cube.

2. Then draw slightly inclined two parallel lines.

Parallel lines- these are two lines going in the same direction and located at the same distance. When I say the word "parallel" I imagine 2 lines in one word.

Perpendicular lines- two lines that intersect at right angles. For example, on this line you see text that is perpendicular to the edge of this page.

3. ATTENTION! Look at how this top edge of the box lid is drawn, following all the slanted lines with a slight slope up to the left. I will refer to this angle as the direction northwest. Imagine a compass.

The four most commonly used directions that I will refer to throughout the lessons are the directions: northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast. Take a look at this compass.

Now I will reverse the compass. Again, perspective distorts and flattens an object, creating the illusion of depth by bringing one edge of the object closer to the viewer.

Notice this tilted compass drawn and the four directions indicated - NW, NE, SW and SE - all of which lines match the lines of your cube.
I call it the "3D compass". This is a wonderful tool for properly sequentially aligning lines. Without properly constructed angles, your drawings will look askew.

4. Draw a lid on the other side of the box using two parallel lines.

5. Using the bottom line of the box in the NE direction, draw the top of the box lid in the same direction (NE).

6. Draw slanting lines to represent the flaps of the box at the front at the bottom.

7. Once again, using the bottom edges of the box as guides, complete the box lids by drawing lines in the NE and NW directions. I'll keep repeating this: use the lines you've drawn as a guide to draw the next ones. By always referencing the already drawn angles corresponding to the 3D compass, your drawings will look solid, focused and, most importantly, three-dimensional.

8. Draw short peeking lines for the back of the box. Notice how one small line contributes to the overall three-dimensional illusion of the drawing. This little line on back side boxes goes “BAM!” and at this moment our drawing turns from a two-dimensional sketch into a three-dimensional object.

9. Draw a horizon line and determine the position of the light source.

10. To correctly draw the falling shadow, use a 3D compass. Draw a guide line along the bottom of the box in a direction SE. ATTENTION! This is the most common mistake that beginners make - they start to lower the shadow below the guide line. Please note that the shadow should be in line with the guide.

Right

Wrong

11. The shades under the two lids of the box add realism to the image. These are wonderful little pieces that successfully demonstrate volume, refined detail and edges. In this example, these shadings help “pull” the lids toward the eyes, pushing the box deeper into the picture.

12. This is the most effective step in each lesson. Clean up your sketch with an eraser, removing unnecessary lines, and sharpen the edges of the drawing with an outline stroke. This will move the image further away from the background. Complete the cast shadows on the left side of the box and inside the box, away from the light source.

I always encourage you to have fun with the lesson by adding as many extra details, neat little ideas as your creative imagination to bring the drawing to life. I put a few small items in the box so they were barely visible. Notice how even these small details add flavor to the sketch.

LESSON 5: PRACTICAL TASK

Talking about additional details, improving your drawing, let's modernize the lesson with a cardboard box? How about a treasure chest overflowing with pearls and coins? We are so dissatisfied with today's economy, mortgage payments, loans and taxes... So let's portray our own wealth!

1. Start with a basic cube shape, just tilt the sides a little. Now indicate the guide lines and label them for better memorization.

2. Draw two parallel lines, slightly opening the lid of the treasure chest.

Continuing the series of lessons about simple things that cause a lot of problems for beginning artists, today there will be instructions on how to draw a box step by step. A box is a container in which you can put, whatever you want, you can put. The classic box consists of specially folded durable paper, popularly called cardboard. It is likely that the Japanese invented it, just like the origami technique. But there is a more rigid form of box - this is a box. The difference between them is this:

  • The walls of the box are made of wood or other material stronger than cardboard;
  • The box has the shape of a parallelepiped, but if necessary it can be unfolded and folded flat. You can't do this trick with a box. Even if the box is empty, it will still take up a lot of space;
  • The capacity of the box and the box may be the same, but the weight of the box is much greater. So to transport the box, you will most likely need the help of a friend, or even a special team of movers;

if you love logic games, I recommend trying to play Sokoban - it is a puzzle game in which the player must arrange the boxes correctly. The plot is not very good, but for those who like to excite their brains, it’s just the thing. And for those who like to excite their imagination, I recommend trying to depict:

How to draw a box with a pencil step by step

Step one. Let's draw the shape of a parallelepiped. It is a little higher, this is because you need to include the length of the closing sheets here. Step two. Now let's show the real shape, and these same side sheets. They should not be higher than the initial frame size, which we showed in step 1.

Step three. Let's start shading. Inner part darker - the strokes are denser, the outer one is lighter - the strokes are less frequent. Step four. Now we need to remove unnecessary lines. Here you need to understand which lines should be visible and which should be erased. Anyone who took geometry lessons at school should already know, and if not, repeat as I did:
Try to depict other household items, for example, we have such lessons.

The most magical and incredible time is the procedure for receiving a gift. The mystery, the hope of receiving the secret and the festivity of everything that happens makes any person relive the secret moments from childhood, when all dreams were dashed with a wave of the parents’ hand. How to draw a gift so that it differs from an ordinary box or parcel? Easily. All you need to do is add a beautiful wrapper and a big, colorful bow to it.

Black and white side view example

Let’s now look in detail at how to draw a gift box. Let's start with the box. Draw a rectangle. This will be the box itself. We place a rectangle lying on it, but its height should be small, and its length should be greater than the length of the bottom one. Now we draw a strip of tape vertically in the foreground. We attach a bow on top, which consists of two semicircles and two ends of the ribbon.

We draw the drawing with a thicker pencil or felt-tip pen.

We erase the auxiliary lines. The gift box is ready.

Second option

Let's change the configuration of the product a little and look at how to draw a gift with a pencil. Let's remember geometric figures and draw a three-dimensional brick.

We make a strip of wrapping tape on the front and sides. From above they should intersect at right angles. At this point we make six turns in the form of ovals.

We draw all the lines with a thick felt-tip pen.

Shade the box with a blue pencil and add round blue polka dots to its entire surface. We paint the tape itself red. To add realism to the work, draw a shadow behind the box with a black pencil.

Green gift

Now let’s unfold the box and look at it from the end. So, how to easily draw a gift. In the foreground is the edge of the box. From it we lead to the left and right side two rectangles. Above. Stepping back a little from the border, we draw another line parallel to the top one. This will be the border of the lid. We draw a straight line from the edge diagonally, which will end on the opposite edge. Draw another diagonal on the sides. It turns out to be a box.

We make a large bow on the lid in the cross area.

We highlight all the necessary zones with a felt-tip pen, leaving the areas on the strip unpainted.

We erase the auxiliary lines.

We make the box green. And the bow and ribbon are red. An excellent and high-quality gift is ready.

Half a turn

If the previous three options could not be mastered perfectly, then you should move on to this one. step by step master class. Let's look at how to draw a gift step by step. We position the box so that in the foreground there is not only an edge, but also a little edge. Making two rectangles different sizes, we draw part of the lid on them.

Add a top rectangle and wrap the gift in ribbon. We attach a bow on top.

All that remains is to paint it. We make the side edges pink, and the top of the box is light pink. Paint the tape yellow.

The final touch: add a shadow in the form of a dark stripe under the lid, and make white polka dots across the entire area of the box.

Drawing with children

The last option is a group of such gifts. Let's look at how to draw a gift for a child. We make a low but wide box with hearts on the front edge. We attach a bow on top.

Behind this box we draw a narrow but tall one with circles on the front edge. Add a bow on top.

In the background we make the box larger and higher. On the front edge we draw oblique lines.

All that remains is to paint them with bright flowers at your discretion.

Such bright decor will allow you to somewhat decorate the modest packaging design. The more interesting and mysterious the shape and size, the more fun it is for the birthday boy to guess the contents. Often a small but very expensive gift can be packaged in a large number of different bags, boxes and other containers. As a result, the holiday turns out to be truly exciting and exciting.

In order to draw a gift, it is very important to first draw the cube. It consists of four faces. After drawing it, you can finish drawing a beautiful wrapping package on it or a ribbon with a bow. It always looks impressive and bright, especially if such a drawing is colored with bright colored pencils in New Year's shades or using paints.

Materials for drawing a New Year's gift:

  • a free sheet of paper in an album;
  • pencils for sketching and coloring;
  • eraser for deleting;
  • black marker for outlining.

How to draw a box with a gift step by step

1) Draw a vertical line. From the top and bottom points we draw side lines at an angle.

2) Then add two more vertical lines to form the edges of the box containing the New Year's gift. We will also draw the last fourth corner, which is located in the background.

3) Draw a circle at the top in which a lush bow will be drawn to decorate the gift. Draw satin ribbon lines along all edges of the box.

4) Draw a chic lush bow in the middle of the circle. We draw two short strips of ribbon from the center of the bow. We create the edges of the box without sharp corners, as well as create smooth tape lines on all parts of the picture.

5) We get beautiful drawing gift that needs to be carefully outlined with a black marker and colored in with colored pencils. We are doing the first one right now. You can also add small strokes and highlights on objects.

6) Use a red pencil to paint over the satin ribbons and chic bow that serve to decorate the New Year’s gift.

7) The box in which the gift is placed is created with green shades of pencils.
