Autumn in the forest, paintings by Russian artists. There is a bright melody in the rustling of leaves

Do you like Russian autumn? Russian artists, poets and musicians put into their works their love for this fertile, but fleeting time of year. A dazzling riot of colors suddenly bursts into the monochromatic flat landscape, along with the first fogs and cries of cranes. The rich color palette is difficult to convey in words. How to reflect on canvas this play of reflections on the gold of birch and aspen trees, the coolness of the morning, the crunch of the first frost or the aching cry of birds flying south? And yet they managed to do it.

Almost summer

Russian artists knew what early Russian autumn was like. They were able to accurately convey the atmosphere of Indian summer in central Russia. During the day it is still very warm, but the evenings and mornings are refreshing. The air seems to be crystal, and spider webs float in it against the backdrop of flaming cobwebs. Particularly indicative is “Autumn. Veranda” by the brush The canvas was painted in 1911. The artist managed to convey that elusive moment when summer leaves and the frosty air of the approaching evening fills. But this time is also generous, as is clear from A. M. Gerasimov’s painting “Gifts of Autumn.” The still life is simple and uncomplicated: apples on a plate, two sunflowers and a vase with bunches of rowan berries. The berries shine like rubies and cast a reddish glow on everything around them.

"The ocher glow of withering..."

Golden Russian autumn... Russian artists, like no other, were able to depict this most beautiful time of the year. The forest turns into a painted box, but at the same time there is something aching, decadent in this fading beauty. Only Russian people, following Pushkin, can see the charm of the eyes in this “dull time”. The motif of golden autumn is present in many artists. These beautiful moments are so fleeting that you just want to hold on to them - at least on canvas.

Levitan and the golden Russian autumn

Russian artists, even if they did not belong to the glorious cohort of impressionists, were able to convey the mood of the reverent, touching and at the same time amazing nature of October. I. I. Levitan dedicated especially many paintings to this fleeting time of the year. His most famous painting is called “ Golden autumn" Looking at her, the viewer seems to be immersed in the warmth and freshness of a fine September day. The road leads into the forest and seems to beckon you. “Autumn Day in Sokolniki” is another painting by the artist that perfectly conveys the mood of this season.

Late autumn in paintings by Russian artists

This truly sad time is also masterfully conveyed by many painters. Firstly, the singer of the Golden Autumn Levitan did not shy away from this topic. His canvas “Road in a Village” depicts impassable mud in which steps and cart wheels get stuck. Bare aspen trees tremble joylessly and forlornly in the wind, and the sky is all covered in its own picture. Summer garden in autumn” tries to find a kind of comfort in the deserted alleys and the thin outlines of the gazebo, as if melting in the air. The mood of loss and orphanhood in the face of the approaching cold is also evident in A. Savrasov’s painting “Evening”. As we see, autumn is firmly rooted in the paintings of Russian artists. Because such melancholy and hopelessness are somehow consonant with the soul of our people.

Incredible, exciting, enchanting and delightful - all these are epithets about autumn. More beautiful time years is impossible to imagine. There can be so many colors on one tree that it sometimes takes your breath away. It's clear why everyone talented people draw inspiration from nature. Autumn is no exception in the paintings of artists. Autumn landscapes have long been considered one of the most popular drawing topics.

And autumn is different everywhere: from warm and sunny to late, with the first frosts that sting your hands. But there are several artists who felt autumn especially subtly and conveyed it in their paintings.

Autumn in the cities in the paintings of Richard McNeil

Liu Maoshan's canvases combine industrialism and oriental flavor. This is most noticeable in the works “Autumn Waters” and “Excursion to Washington”.

"Poplar Alley in Autumn", Van Gogh

The famous painting “Autumn” by Shishkin is rightfully considered a masterpiece about autumn in Russian painting. The author conveyed it very realistically autumn mood in Rus'.

"Autumn" by Shishkin

You can talk endlessly about autumn in painting, because this topic is an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

Any canvases of the most different artists dedicated to this time of the year will always delight and inspire humanity. Nature, in turn, will be an inexhaustible source of inspiration for all artists around the world for a very long time.

The most inspiring time of the year is autumn. It is multifaceted, awakens very contradictory feelings, and has become the culprit for the emergence of many beautiful works in literature, music and the visual arts.

It is not always comfortable to introduce a child to this time of year directly on the street, in a park, in a forest; the view from the window is sometimes limited, but they can help you if you just get an album with reproductions. In addition, this way you will hit two targets with one shot, introducing your child to autumn and the arts.

What pictures of autumn will be the most interesting and educational for children?

"Golden Autumn" - I. Levitan

Most famous landscape this time of year. The picture is perfect for a child's first acquaintance with autumn, because it depicts its beginning. Despite the fact that the main color scheme of the picture is yellow, autumn, the fields in the distance are still green, here and there there is unfaded grass, and the grove on the right bank waves its green foliage welcomingly. The sky is clear, the weather is calm and pleasant.

This wonderful canvas will help your child recognize the first and highlight her positive traits. You can have a fascinating conversation about Russian fields and birch trees.

"Golden Autumn" - V. Polenov

This is no less a wonderful representative. Looking at the picture, you will be able to consolidate with your child knowledge about the early, first signs of autumn, and form pleasant associations.

You can try to introduce your baby to the concept of “Indian summer”. If he is not ready for this yet, do not insist.

in the fall" - I. Brodsky

Looking at the selected autumn pictures for children, we find ourselves in a garden where golden autumn already reigns. What does it mean? Look for the answer with your child in the thinning tree crowns, in the fallen leaves on the garden paths. Note that the day can be pleasant, clear and sunny even in mid-autumn.

How did we guess that the sun was shining brightly? The artist makes us understand this by depicting bright shadows from trees on the ground. ABOUT wonderful day The figures of numerous passers-by in the garden also speak. Who would go for a walk in bad weather?

"Autumn. Veranda" - S. Zhukovsky

A slightly unusual view for us (young researchers) - this is no longer a forest or a park, but still - autumn. Many autumn landscapes, paintings show us houses, roads and villages in a golden natural frame, and here is a veranda. Table, vase, flowers... Speaking of flowers. Which ones bloom in autumn?

It is noteworthy that there is also a lot of light, warmth and sun. You can also clearly see the Christmas trees, which for some reason remained green. Why?

"Late Autumn" - K. Korovin

So we got to last picture autumn. It is important for children to see that late fall- this is not a sad end to a beautiful, warm season full of bright colors, but the beginning of a new one. After all, despite the fact that all the leaves have fallen, the grass has withered, the air is already filled with milky fog, and there is snow on the remaining rare leaves and blades of grass. We are on the threshold of winter.

When choosing autumn pictures for children, try to make them light, bright and bring positive emotions. Just like in the examples given in this article. Even if the theme of autumn is not very pleasant for you, an adult, you should not pass on your negative thoughts and stereotypes to your child. Even if the autumn paintings and photos you find are unknown to the whole world, and the authors are provincial landscape painters, the main thing is the quality of the work and the feelings it will evoke in a tender child’s soul.

ARTISTS PAINT AUTUMN

The artist painted autumn,
Trying to cheat time.
Alley, old station,
A passerby and a little rain,

Cornices, pigeons, window,
In which there is a patch of sky.
And the clatter of dominoes
From the park diagonally,

Tired steps are a dark trail,
Rowan sadness, the last leaf,
A bouquet thrown on the ground,
A wet plaster bugler.

The taste of a kiss on the corner
Chills from the sharp “Goodbye!”
The confusion of someone's thoughts out loud,
And a runaway tram,

Autumn cloudy finale -
A frozen moment of flying days...
He held my hand for a while.
Alone, among other people's passions...

GOLDEN AUTUMN ISAAC LEVITAN

Landscapes of Isaac Levitan are often called masterpieces. He didn’t just depict landscapes familiar to many. Sometimes they say: “The artist sang the beauty of nature.” This expression means that he put all the power of love into his paintings. Levitan's paintings are truly full of love for native nature. They look like beautiful music and to refined poetry. Looking at Levitan’s painting “Golden Autumn”, you remember both the music of Russian composers and the best lines of Russian poetry about autumn. “Charm of the eyes”, “forests dressed in crimson and gold” - these words of Pushkin are very suitable for “Golden Autumn”.

On the canvas we see a characteristic Russian landscape. Calm day in mid-autumn. The sun is shining, but not so bright. The Russian expanse opens before your eyes: fields, groves, a river. The blue sky with white clouds on the horizon converges with the line of the forest. A narrow river with low banks crosses the picture vertically, helping the viewer's eye to see the perspective. With clear vertical strokes, the artist shows the movement of water.

In front of us is a birch grove. Birch is a very picturesque tree. Levitan, like many artists, loved birch trees and often depicted them in his landscapes. Autumn has already painted nature in its autumn colors: yellow, golden orange. They are so bright that at first it seems that the whole picture is painted in different tones yellow color. But this is only at first glance. Looking closely, we see that the grass in the foreground is still green, but has just begun to turn yellow. And the distant field, beyond which several village houses are visible, is still green. And the grove on the right bank is still cheerfully green.

But our attention is focused precisely on the yellow birch trees. Their foliage flutters in the wind, shimmers like gold in sunlight. There is no sadness in the landscape; on the contrary, the mood is peaceful and calm. This is golden autumn. She captivates with beauty.

Vasily Polenov. Golden autumn.

In many of his creations, the artist V.D. Polenov depicted the Motherland and the Oka River. Near it he was destined to live many years of creativity, favorite work and inspiration, the source of which was the local nature. The artist never ceased to admire her, either in his letters or in his works. The painting “Golden Autumn” is the quintessence of this love and it is clear that part of the author’s soul has forever frozen in the work, filling it with warmth and soft inner light.

The colors and paints are surprisingly richly and capaciously conveyed - the magic penetrated into the smooth lines and curves of the water surface, into the skies hanging over the hills, into the forest and the dome of the church, reviving and making it all three-dimensional and real. The austere splendor of the surroundings off the banks of the Oka attracts the eye - the warmth of the latter autumn days, seems to flow from the canvas and spread throughout the hall. Sunny bunnies and the glare from the water makes you squint and smile, remembering similar days from your life. The hills, outlined by soft, flowing lines, slowly disappear, dissolving into the boundless distance. And only a tiny part of the huge plain falls into the artist’s print - the river, and the trees, and the huge hills, like brushstrokes of some other big picture.

Autumn is just waking up here, it has not yet breathed on the trees and many of them are still in summer clothes, only a few have changed colors. Gold and crimson now live their own lives, diluting the greenery and adding charm to the shore shimmering in the sun. A small forest road invites you into the forest, where the last flowers still bloom, the smell of grass and pine needles, and the last warmth emanates from the earth. Looking at this picture, you want to forget for a second about business and problems, dissolve in the gentle beauty and harmony, think about the smooth and leisurely flow of life, which is so far from today’s cities seething with energy.
