Layouts for design in a school library. Material on the topic: Materials for an information stand in the school library

We went to the library to get them and tried, among the huge number of long shelves, to find exactly the copy that we needed so much. In fact, here you can find a book for every taste. Works have been stored here for years famous classics, scientific literature, works modern writers. Even kids will definitely find something for themselves here. After all, there are various entertainment publications, games and children's magazines.

A few words about design

Separately, it is worth mentioning the role played by the design of a school library. Of course, first of all, it must provide its visitors with a full range of services. To do this, it is necessary to notify readers about various events. After all, it is very important that all events are noticed by visitors, and they have the opportunity to follow all the new products. This is where creative design comes to the rescue. The design of school library stands should be original and bright. Advertising should interest not only children, but also their parents, and also attract new visitors.

Before you take on such work, you need to decide how to convey information to clients. Considering general design school library, stands should be decorated in the same style. In this matter, you can contact a professional designer for help. Information about the latest news can be placed on mobile stands, flyers and promotional stands.

Information stands

Before deciding what the design of the school library will be, you need to decide where to place the stands and what shape to make them. They can be either ordinary rectangular or unusual, which have an individual size and design. A large structure that stands in one place, motionless, is called a “stationary stand.” It is best to place it in a prominent place near the entrance to the library. Everything should be here important information about the institution. This may include its operating mode, rules for using the library, a brief historical information and other important information.

As a rule, the first thing that impresses students with a school library is the design of its premises and stands. Therefore, the main ones should have a very good design. To attract the attention of customers, awards and certificates of employees of the establishment should be beautifully placed in a prominent place. Such a corner will become wonderful decoration institution and will emphasize its status. Modern designers have long ago replaced stationary main stands with street lines. They are portable and have a beautiful design.

You can allocate a place on them where information about the services that the library offers will be placed. Can be used for presentations funny pictures to attract children's attention. With the help of such posters, clients should learn the maximum useful and interesting information about the room they found themselves in. Therefore, their design should be bright, unusual and attractive.

Tamarezki

Similar images can be seen quite often today in various entertainment establishments. A hole for the face is cut along the contour. Children really enjoy being photographed as different characters. When decorating a school library, you can use tamarezki and install them in the kids’ room. Children will be delighted with their loved ones fairy-tale heroes and characters from fairy tales. And they will definitely want to come back here.

Depending on their purpose, they may have additional lighting, a certain color scheme and style. But we should not forget about overall harmony so that all material is presented in the most favorable light. Visitors will definitely be satisfied if they visit such a room at least once.

Tips for decorating a children's library.

What could be easier to organize in your home? children's library: I bought the book and put it on the shelf. But it turns out that it’s not as simple as we wanted it to be, forming a circle children's reading depends on many factors: these are the age characteristics of the child, his interest in literature and the tasks that we want when creating homework children's library. We can omit the conversation about this altogether if we were adults at the preschool stage childhood fully fulfilled the main tasks: developing interest in the book and caring for it. But, unfortunately, all this rarely happens now, because books in our homes have acquired powerful rivals: TV, video, computer, tablets.

Have you ever thought about question: “What can a book give your child?” But a book is where children get a lot of knowledge: the first ideas about time and space, about the connection between man and nature and objective world, which contributes to the expansion children's horizons. Through literary works For the first time, kids experience courage and ability, good and evil, human values how humanity, justice, friendship, sympathy, i.e. books open and cleanse the soul, educate good feelings. Books are an inexhaustible source for the development of intelligence and creativity, not only for children, but also for adults. In this regard, we we advise Be very careful and selective about the organization and selection of books in the house. Adults should remember that a book attracts small child registration. Appearance there must be books attractive: different shapes covers, beautiful bright illustrations.

At home library there must be different types of books.

The first stage is a toy book, a picture book, which is given to the child from a very early age. (up to a year). But this is not literature yet. In these books, the visual image prevails over the verbal; the drawings are of primary importance. K.I. Chukovsky noted that this period is important in mastering speech and a book that gives rich visual impressions will be a good assistant in this matter.

A child who picks up a book at an early age and enjoys interacting with it will continue to be drawn to the book and become a passionate reader.

The second stage is book cutting. A book whose cover is cut out according to the office of the subject about which we're talking about in the text, and its playful external decor also helps to attract the child to become familiar with the content.

The third stage is a panorama book. It is not only vividly illustrated, but also has moving figures. With the help of these figures, the action seems to come to life in it. By manipulating them, the child not only gets involved in the rhythm of the text, but also lives what is happening together with the characters.

We must also remember that in library baby should have books different types reflections reality: not only fairy tales, but also realistic literature, not only prose, but also poems.

Up to 3 - 4 years of age, children should be surrounded by picture books such as clamshells and toy books with a predominance of illustrations and short text: “Ryaba Hen”, “Magpie-Crow”, etc. After 3 years, it is important to adhere to one of the basic rules - in the child’s field of vision there should be from 3 to 5 books with bright illustrations and plots accessible for this age. This books: A. Barto “Toys”, “The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats”, “Kolobok”, “Teremok”, “Three Bears”, etc.

It’s good to update the repertoire of books after 2–3 weeks, introducing one new book at a time, with a surprise or encouragement, For example:

Today the book brought you a very interesting book “Cat House”.

Grandma and I decided to give you a new fairy tale- after all, you really love and take care of books.

At 4 years of age and older, it is very important to tell your child that there is children's library. And together with the child it is necessary to organize it correctly, that is, systematize it according to type adult: fairy tales, books by one author; according to the seasons, stories about animals, books by foreign authors, poems, riddles, encyclopedias, etc. It is important to separate each division with a cardboard partition with a picture - a symbol indicating a particular section. It's good to give your name library(for example “Book House”) and gradually accumulate it.

But we must not forget that books also love care. Next to the “Book House”, you can place a “Book Hospital” corner, where materials and tools for repairing books will be stored. We recommend doing this work together with children. This will help educate careful attitude and love for books. Pay attention to the printing decor illustrations and of course the content.

The purpose of this event was for children to master the rules of behavior in in public places, familiarization with the work of the rural library.

In the library for the children, books are lined up on the shelves. Take it, read it and know a lot, but don’t harm the book. It will open up a big world, and if you do.

Registration of the fund

Open access is the face of every library, and it is created primarily for readers. How it is organized and designed determines how readers will perceive it, whether they will feel comfortable here, and whether they will be able to freely navigate it themselves to find the necessary literature.

Main principles of fund design: accounting age characteristics readers; finding your own design style; choosing a topic, a mascot hero (library, department); artistic solution (font, color); development of themes, colors, symbols in the design of shelf dividers; a clear reflection of the close relationship between the library and the reader; taking into account the individual characteristics of the library (collection volume, area, etc.); changing the structure of the shelving arrangement (where possible). How did the idea of transforming the open collection come to fruition in each children's library branch?

The team of the Zaitsev Central Children's Children's Hospital (service manager I. Paimysheva) updated two subscriptions and a reading room. Employees of each department came up with an emblem, symbols, and chose colors. Thus, the subscription, serving preschoolers and students in grades 1-3 and 4-5, is designed in a space style and called “The Third Planet.” (The design is based on the book “The Secret of the Third Planet” by Kir Bulychev.) The symbol of the department was Gromozeka (one of the heroes of the book) - kind, sympathetic, inquisitive. Literature signs are made in the form of flying saucers. Their color fully matches the color of the shelf dividers: blue and green for scientific literature, red and yellow for fiction.

The bookcase with literature for 2nd and 3rd grade students was called “To you, pioneers!” Unconventional names were given to the shelf dividers: scientific and educational literature - “Lyuboznaykam” (about the world around us), “There is a Russian side” (history), “Igronauts” (games, crosswords, homemade products); fiction- “Fairy tales gathered together”, “Land of unread books”, “Poetic rainbow”, etc.

Students in grades 4-5 are offered books on a shelf with the title “For you, old-timers!” Thematic dividers received the following names: scientific and educational literature - “From Time Immemorial”, “Teaching is not Torment”, “About Our Lesser Brothers”; fiction - “Your Golden Shelf”, “About Boys and Girls”, “Miracles and Mysteries”.

On a separate shelf there is an exhibition “Treasures of the Starry Sky”, which demonstrates the library’s care for its readers. Its sections: "The Most Reading Astronauts" - a shelf exhibition of the reader's form; “Masters of the Universe” - presents literature about celebratory writers and their works; "Help" - a shelf exhibition of recommendatory bibliography: recommendation lists, bookmarks, advertisements for books and magazines, as well as thematic card indexes; “The Charm of Old Editions” is a shelf exhibition of undeservedly forgotten books.

When creating open access, librarians did not forget about debtors. A poster was posted that said, "Galactic Patrol Inspectorate is looking for them." It presents a list of those who did not submit literature to the library on time. The unconventional name and bright design attract the attention of readers, including the penal prisoners themselves.

It should also be said about the bibliography corner, made in red tones. The symbol of Gromozek's department, present in this corner, shows children that with the help of a systematic and illustrated catalog they can choose a book. This cheerful, bright little man also reminds children of the deadline for returning the book. It is written on a poster located at the librarian's lectern.

The subscription serving students in grades 6-9 was issued in nautical style. And they gave it a romantic, one might say, adventure name - “Columbus”. The attributes of open access include a globe and a card index for teenagers to help school curriculum"A Light in the Ocean", bibliographic game "Wind of Wanderings".

Open access literature is located on three shelves under the following titles: “The Lonely Sail Whitens” - fiction classic literature(shelf dividers and bookmarks are made in blue and white); “Meeting in the wardroom” - recommended bibliography and forms for the most active readers; "Roads of a Desert Island" - scientific and educational literature. (Shelf dividers and header are green and yellow.)

The reading room deserves special attention. Choosing a topic that would reflect his work, the librarians settled on detective genre, since in reading room there is a daily painstaking search for information, and inquiries are carried out in response to complex, sometimes confusing requests from readers, no less secret and incomprehensible than the plot in an exciting detective story.

The emblem became an open book and mysterious, inquisitive, mysterious and inquisitive drawn eyes that everyone wants to know. The emblem is designed in black, blue and red colors. The same colors were used for the design of the bibliographic search game “Experts are on the trail.” The game is located in bookcases, where thematic folders and collections of local history are presented, reflecting the main direction of the library's work - local history.

The colorful poster invites readers to answer three groups of questions: o memorable places Nizhny Novgorod and regions; about historical places of Sormovsky district; anniversary dates related to the lives of famous Nizhny Novgorod residents. The one who answers all the questions receives the title of True Nizhny Novgorod. The goal of the game is to attract the attention of readers to the local history fund and teach them to independently search for information.

With great imagination and invention we approached decoration open access in the Brinsky library (branch head N. Potapova).

Three open access shelving units are combined into a large “House of Pochitayki”. The owner of the house is the little man Pochitayka, who is a symbol of the library, he presents to readers best books, new magazines, indicates the return period, etc. In this house, the racks are the entrances, the bookshelves are the floors, the shelf dividers are the keys, and the reader's address of the literature on each rack is indicated on the locks of the house: 2-3 classes, 4- 5th grade, 6-9th grade. Keys and locks for each age are made in a certain color: red, yellow, green. And to make it more convenient for children to navigate in the public domain, a “traffic light” system has been developed and is presented in the form of a traffic light man.

In keeping with the open access of the Brinsky Library, the design of open access at the children's department of the M. Lomonosov Library (branch head N. Mashkina). Here, open access is provided for children readers by an entire “Read Street”, where each shelf is a house with a specific number: 1/3 4/6, 7/9 (the number indicates the age of the readers to whom the books are addressed). The inhabitants of these houses are books and literary heroes: Carlson, Matroskin the cat, Thumbelina and others, and each is located behind its own shelf divider. Shelf dividers are made in the form of house windows. There are many such windows, which allows you to fully reveal the fund. The color scheme of the house racks is also successful. Three houses - three colors: lemon, pink and white. Thanks to color and numbering, readers can immediately find their “home” on the fabulous “Read Street”. The open access design features of this library are simplicity, clarity and accessibility for child readers.

The open access of the library named after A. Matrosov (branch manager L. Slastnikova) was originally designed. Very limited area The subscription provides open access for readers of all ages. It is located in such a way that children do not interfere with each other in choosing literature.

For preschoolers there is a corner “How to be able to read well”. Colored symbols on book-brochures (yellow and red triangles) help not to confuse the books and help you figure out what kind of literature it is - fiction (poems, stories, fairy tales) or scientific-educational (about animals, plants, technology).

For middle-aged readers, literature is collected under the heading "Treasure Island". The guide to this “island” is made in the form of a map located on an open book. The map shows books according to the most different topics: "Castle of Miracles" - adventures; "Spring of Poetry" - poems; "Peak of Victory" is about war; "Volcano of History" - historical literature; "The Naturalist's Path" is about the natural world.

Exactly the same symbols are placed on the boxes where the books are located, and on the books themselves. This allows children to quickly find the literature they are interested in, and librarians to quickly organize the collection. The symbol of open access for middle-aged readers has become Captain Flint, who invites those who wish to visit “Treasure Island.”

Open access for students in grades 7-8 is located on a shelf under the heading “Reading Circle”. Here, each thematic divider has its own color. And books standing behind a separator of a certain color have a strip on the spine of the same color as the shelf divider itself (for example, the separator “In the World of Fantasy” is made purple, and the books in this section have a purple stripe on the spine, etc.). This solution helps in choosing the necessary literature and, of course, facilitates the arrangement of the collection.

In the children's department of the Leninsky Komsomol Library (headed by N. Golomidova), the open access fund is one of the largest among children's libraries in the region. It is located on six shelves. Librarians have thought out the name and color of each section for readers of different age groups.

Thus, for students in grades 1-3, there is a shelf with literature decorated in yellow tones, called “Romashkovo”. Its symbol is a cartoon train, which in poetic form invites readers to get acquainted with the books.

Students in grades 4-6 find themselves in the “Fairytale Castle”, which is made in red and brown tones, where they are greeted by Queen Book. She is a symbol of the fund's division. And from the appeal poem you can learn about what kind of literature is presented here and for whom.

The open access section “The Sea of Books” appears in blue tones for readers in grades 7-9. A ship flying in full sail represents the desire of teenagers for knowledge, discovery, and travel. On a scroll of blue color children can read a poem wishing them good luck in sailing the sea of books.

This solution for designing open access shelving helps visitors quickly and easily navigate the collection and find the necessary literature.

The team of the Kassil Library (headed by L. Fedotova) began working with open access by changing the location of the shelves. They were placed at a considerable distance from each other, which eliminated the illusion of a solid object and drew attention to a separate rack. Each rack of literature is addressed to readers of a certain age: younger, middle, older. The "Preschooler's Corner" is also highlighted. Finding the right book is made easier by various color scheme shelf dividers for each literature department.

A voluminous multi-colored polyhedron, suspended on a thread between the shelves, attracts the attention of readers. You can spin this “toy” and determine which theme it corresponds to specific color shelf dividers and signs on the book. For example: green - ecology, red - history, yellow - fiction, etc.

To summarize, it must be said that each team showed ingenuity, professional skill, creativity, and individuality. Thanks to this, open access in every library has become more vibrant, attractive, updated, unique and more accessible to young readers.

Every day we are faced with information “pouring” at us from all sides. Almost everywhere, and in the library too, we see stands, leaflets, leaflets that we... simply don’t notice anymore. Do our readers read our stands? Do they find the information they need there?

We'll figure it out together. Known fact- Better to see once than hear a hundred times. For your attention I I suggest Today a selection of photographs of information stands from different libraries, made both professionally and with the help of design solutions by the librarians themselves. For ease of perception of information, I have roughly divided the photographs into several sections.

I would like to note that fellow methodologists wrote some pretty good recommendations on the topic of information stands. Let’s actually start with them.

..." The main goal in attracting readers to the library is not so much the introduction of various services, but ensuring their relevance, promoting intellectual products and the same services.

Promotion- This various shapes information, persuasion of users or reminders about library services and products.

Main tasks promoting library services are:

formation of a prestigious image (image) of the library in the minds of the population, representatives of local authorities, public organizations etc.;

informing about new services introduced by the library;

maintaining the popularity of existing library services, convincing users to demand them;

informing potential users about the time, place and conditions for the provision of services;

focusing the attention of users on the specific properties and benefits of the library services offered, on the freeness of basic forms of service.

The first photographs on the theme "library", "library". The use of these words is the most popular in the names of stands - there is a world, a city, a dossier, and a corner with a courier. In my opinion, any name looks decent, the main thing is that the “courier” promptly changes the information, the “world” reflects the “global” scale, and the “dossier” ... by the way, what’s in your “information dossier”, gentlemen - librarians?

We continue to study information stands. Colleagues suggest filling the resource with the following materials:

Basic information: library name; the library network of which it is a subdivision; operating mode; FULL NAME. librarian; composition of the fund

Goals and objectives of the library in the organization library services population;

Rules for using the library;

Information about the services offered by the library, about the forms of their provision;

Information about amateur associations, clubs of interest (if any): work plan, goals, objectives, etc.;

Certificates of gratitude for the results achieved in the work;

Announcements about current events, monthly work plans, etc.;

Publishing products.

Each of the stands, in my opinion, is worthy of our attention. What do you think?

While you are looking at the photographs, I will continue.We all understand thatThe information stand should be located in a place convenient for users to familiarize themselves with. It is advisable to glaze the stand, especially if it is located outside the library. Materials and announcements must be updated in a timely manner so that the stand does not contain outdated information. Of course, use computer typing. What else? How do you like the presence of the word “information” in the names of the stands? This seems to be a good word, but librarians sometimes get carried away and we read, and read, and read “information”. It would be better if there was a Library City.

Just a couple of lines about design of materials. And above in the photo and below you will see design options. This is a personal matter (and financial too) for each library. But sometimes we see this picture - some librarians, without further ado, put more text in the proposed “pockets” and let it hang. And some people really love everything shiny and it turns out that the text is no longer important.

We librarians very often forget that our “information” will be read by ordinary people(don’t forget to allocate stands separately for adults and children), who absolutely don’t care how beautiful and long the name of our library is. They want to see what is happening in this library - what events, what services, when and in what department this can be done, and where to come with their child. Large-scale paintings, filled with texts DO NOT WORK. Alas and ah.

Of course, we follow each other’s successes, focus on foreign countries, and come up with something of our own. The stands placed above are not bad or require improvement. Each of them is good, but THE READER NEEDS ANOTHER ONE.

BRIEF. CAPACITY. NOT STANDARD.

good example of brevity

I suggest reading very good thoughts on the topic of stands from one of our librarian colleagues. The answers to these questions may vary from librarian to librarian. And this is good, because in this case we will be dealing with “a non-general facial expression.” Someone, for sure, can suggest other techniques and methods that make information stands truly work effectively, and not just a set of posters, by which readers pass without stopping.

1. How many stands do you need?There may be several of them: in the foyer, at the subscription office, in the reading room, in other departments and functional rooms. Each of them has their own goals and objectives.

In the foyer - the most general information about the library: full name, postal and email address, founders, managers, partners, mission, awards. Information about regulatory documents is probably appropriate: Charter, Rules, Price lists for paid services..., according to which the library operates. Hardly worth putting full text these documents, it is enough to list them and tell them where they are and who to contact for them. Here is the structure of the library: the names of departments (branches), how they can help readers/users, how to find them, who to contact... Information about general library, district/city events and promotions.

Accordingly, in departments there is more detailed information about the departments: about employees, resources, services, events, achievements...

2. Where and on what are the stands located? Spatially: closer to the collection, to the exit, next to the catalogue, near the department? ... It depends on both the size of the room and the conceptual idea. On special tablets, posters, exhibition stands, bookshelves, right on the wall, using scrap materials?... I know that there are very original finds.

3. What stands are needed: permanent or variable? Statemental or navigational (explaining where, what and how to find)? There may be both. You can make two parts on one stand. Then what is the ratio of the parts? Frequency of updating the variable component?

4. Sections and topics of the stand? They depend on what we want to tell readers/users, what to show, what to entice... They can also be permanent and replaced with more relevant ones.

6. How will texts, sections and topics be arranged on the stand? You can follow the principle of a book page:
left to right, top to bottom. It is possible - centrifugally. In the center there is a non-stopper, some detail that sharply attracts attention: a question mark and the question itself, a photograph, a black spot... In children's libraries, mascots, literary characters are used for this purpose... and then, to the edges of the stand - texts , revealing the meaning of non-stopper. The text and pictures located in the upper right part are best perceived: here may be the most important or urgent information. What other ideas are there?

7. Will the color scheme be used and how? What colors will carry the main meaning? Be sure to clarify and use correctly color combinations. Here you can think about what fonts can be used. Of course, computer printing looks better, but depending on the design, why not use exclusive works by the artist.

8. What are the stylistic features and language? Much depends on the location of the stands and, accordingly, the intended purpose. Official text - business style and language. Event invitations are naturally more emotional language. There may be style options for children and teenagers, students and retirees. The main thing is that there is no commanding tone, prohibitive or punitive promises.

9. Will there be an appeal to readers? What type: greeting, question, call for evaluation, feedback? Generalized-personified: dear friend, dear reader..., or generalized-group: dear students, pensioners...

10. Is it supposed to be interactive? If so, how will feedback be provided: special pockets for notes, questions, color tokens for voting; place for online entries, (“collection” of reviews), contact communication channels? What else? IN Lately Libraries began to actively use electronic information tools: creeping line, computer monitor. Maybe the time will come, we will use holograms. And what do you think? And what haven't I said yet?

But most importantly, since we live in an age high technology This means that the information that we want to convey to the masses should be located on high-tech, modern information stands.

An interactive information board that recognizes the reader by sight is no longer a fantasy! Instead of static stands in the “monologue” format, technological solutions have already been created that integrate with Digital Signage systems and allow not only to convey information to the consumer, but also to provide feedback : analyze how many people actually read the information posted on the board, how much time they spend near it, evaluate the reaction of the information consumer, determine age, gender, social status"readers".

P.S. How to present websites to readers (using the example of a library in Arzamas)
