Method one - disable update notification without interfering with the system kernel
As a general rule, in most cases it will likely require kernel intervention to disable Android system update notifications.
However, users of some smartphones confirm that they disable these messages in a phone without root rights (for example, in the LG G3).
The solution is to disable the display for two system applications - "Google Play Services" and "Google Services Framework".
To do this, go to Settings and select Applications. Now move your finger to the side to view all applications or click “application manager” (top first in the list) - depends on the version of Android.
If you selected the second item, then click “Options” at the top right and select the line “show system applications”
Let's start with the Google Services Framework. Find it and click on it.
Now click on the Notifications section.
After going to it, move the slider to the left or uncheck the box next to the “allow notifications” parameter
That's not all. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and move the slider to the right or check the box next to the “Hide notifications” option or disable it (also depends on the Android version).
Now we return to the list of applications and do the same for “Software Update” and “Google Play Services” - turn off notifications in both.

Now restart your device. If the message still remains, then the device needs to be rooted.
Method two - disable update notifications
The second solution is to disable the system service, which runs in the background and is responsible for updating the Android system.
To do this, you need to obtain root rights and install the “Disable Service” application. Launch the application and go to “System” (on the right) to display system applications.
In the list, look for the “Google Services Framework” application and select it. Now, at the top left, select show all services running within the application.
At the bottom we should find the “SystemUpdateService” service. To disable it, simply uncheck the box next to it in the list. Update messages should no longer appear. Good luck.

By default, automatic application updates are enabled on Android devices. Moreover, in my opinion this is often not very convenient:
- firstly, mobile Internet has not yet become truly unlimited (which means you may be charged for overusing traffic (as Megafon does, for example, providing additional traffic));
- and, secondly, the update, as usual, is launched at the most inopportune moment! Those. Instead of using the application when you really need it, you have to see the loading bar..!
Actually, in this article I want to present several simple options for solving the problem (you can update applications manually when you have time for this, and when you are connected to unlimited Wi-Fi Internet).
And so, closer to the topic...
Option 1: for all applications at once
The most common option. To implement this, you must first go to the Play Market (Google Play). Usually, a shortcut for it is placed on the main screen (see screenshots below). Next, go to the Google Play settings (in the top menu on the left, click on the “three flats” icon).
Auto-update applications
After which you will be presented with three options to choose from:
- never (i.e. the update will be disabled!). This is the point we need to choose to solve our issue.;
- always (applications will be updated whenever connected to the Internet);
- only via Wi-Fi (updates will be downloaded only when connected to Wi-Fi).
Option 2: Application Specific
In cases where the main traffic is taken up by updating one (two) applications, it is convenient to disable not all at once, but specifically that one. To do this, open the Google Play settings and go to the section.
Next, open the installed software section and from the drop-down list, click on the name of one of the applications (I emphasize: click on the name, and not on the “Open” button) . Then, on the right, click on the “three vertical dots” icon (see screenshot below).

Addendum 1: How to remove previously downloaded updates
Simple enough! First you need to open the "Applications" section in the Android settings. See the example in the screenshot below.
In the menu that appears, you can stop the application, delete the cache and updates (which, in fact, was required).

By the way, to make it easier to find those applications that take up the most space with their updates, it’s easier to do it a little differently: go to the “Memory” section in the settings, then select "Application data and mule files." (see screenshot below) and a list will appear in front of you.
Addendum 2: How to update the application manually
After you disable auto-updates of applications, it is still recommended to manually check for updates at least once or twice a month (since very important additions are often released).
To manually check, open Google Play and enter its settings (see screenshot below).
Next, open the section "My apps and games/Updates" (numbers 1, 2 in the screenshot below): among the list of applications you will see the updates found (if you have all the latest versions of applications installed, the message “No updates” will be displayed, as in the example below).

How to disable auto-update for all applications
If you need to disable auto-update for all applications installed on your Android device at once, this can be done through the Play Market settings.

It should be noted that in the Play Market settings there is also a function called “Auto-update”. It is located in the “Notification” block and is responsible for notifying the user about installed updates.
Disabling this feature does not disable the installation of auto updates, so don't get confused.
How to disable auto-updates for specific applications only
If you do not need to disable auto-updates for all applications at once, then you can manually specify those applications that should not be updated automatically.
To do this, you need to open the Play Market application store and find there an application that should not be updated. After this, you need to open the application page in the Play Market and click on the button with three dots (upper right corner of the screen).
After this, a menu will appear with one single function “Auto update”. Uncheck this feature and you will disable auto-updates for that specific application.
In order to turn auto-update back on, you will need to go to the application page in the Play Market again and check this box.
Many users install new applications from the Play Market on their Android smartphone. It happens that a user suddenly notices that a friend has exactly the same application that works differently than his. More precisely, a friend has new features and capabilities in the application, but for some reason our user does not have them. Setting Up Update Notifications
It happens that update messages arrive completely inappropriately and you want to turn them off. You can turn off the sound that occurs when such updates appear, or block them from receiving them.
To turn off notifications, you need to open the Play Market settings. To do this, you need to follow the steps described above in Figures 1-3. When the “My apps and games” option is open on your Android smartphone, you need to scroll (scroll) the window down so that “Settings” appears (Fig. 9):

Everyone chooses their own settings for automatic application updates. In Fig. 12 “Only via Wi-Fi” option is selected. This is convenient for updating applications. I already have a sad experience when the mobile traffic limit quickly and completely unexpectedly ends. However, Wi-Fi is not ubiquitous and widespread, so you have to think about Internet traffic consumption and choose the appropriate settings.
