How to draw beautiful emoticons with a pencil step by step. Drawing a smiley

Emoticons have become an integral part of virtual communication. With their help, many people can express their emotions in the shortest form and show them to their interlocutor. Therefore, knowing how to draw emojis can be very useful.

History of creation

The history of emoticons dates back to the mid-twentieth century. At that time, a depressing environment reigned in American enterprises due to the unstable economic situation. To encourage employees and motivate them to improve the quality of their work, they were drawn and posted in their offices. They were even attached to document folders.

Methods have, of course, changed and improved since then.

Emoticons in our lives

Indeed, a convenient thing! Some people have reached a whole new level of communication by communicating exclusively using emoticons.

We use them when communicating in in social networks, send via SMS. What is a smiley? It's a big yellow circle with eyes and a mouth. There are many different emoticons, depending on the emotions you need to show, you can use smiling, laughing, sad or angry circles.

Drawing a smiley face on paper step by step

How to draw emoticons? It's very simple, and if you suddenly need to draw it, the instructions below can help you.

So let's get started. Let's draw a happy smiley face. This is what he looks like.

1. Take Blank sheet and a pencil (a simple one to start with).

2. Draw a circle of the required size; you can use a compass or simply draw a suitable circle.

3. Draw eyes of the same shape as in the picture. In the future you can experiment and draw eyes various shapes, decorate them with beautiful eyelashes.

4. Draw the mouth in the shape of an arc, and inside the tongue. If you want to convey sadness, the arc is drawn upside down. Indifference is just a straight line.

5. Erase all auxiliary strokes.

6. The last stage is to decorate the resulting face. This can be done using a yellow pencil, crayons or paints. We also paint the eyes and mouth in the desired colors.

Here's how to draw emojis on paper very quickly and easily. Emoticons offered in computer programs, are of the same type, but created by hand on paper reflect the artist’s style and show it creative potential. In addition, it will be individual and unique!

Drawing by cells

IN Lately Drawing by cells is becoming popular. Apparently, this trend started from school, when I had several colored pens and a checkered notebook at my disposal. Nevertheless, such drawings turn out to be quite interesting.

How to draw emoticons using cells? Yes, just like the other drawings. This is very convenient, especially when there are no special drawing skills and creative thinking is not very developed.

We take a sheet of paper in a box and different gel pens. Drawings with pencils or crayons may turn out a little faded, but gel pens will give them brightness and shine. But you have to be careful not to smear the newly decorated squares with your hand.

Now we just start coloring one cell at a time, first forming a circle, and then the eyes and mouth. The outer line of the circle can be distinguished by another, more dark color, such as black or orange. The smiley itself is yellow, the facial features are at your discretion.

These emoticons are sketchy, but still very cute. Here's how to draw emojis without spending a lot of time and effort.

Step 1

Create a new file 50x50 px, with Mode RGB Color and transparent background. Name the layer Outline(Circuit).

Select color #565656 .

Increase the image scale to 1600%. Take Pencil tool size 1px and draw a horizontal line 5px long. Next, go down and move 1px to the right. Draw a line 2px long. And so on, according to the instructions in the figure:

Step 2

Create a new layer. Name it Fill(Fill). Now let's paint over the smile.

Take the color #A1A1A1 and paint over the points shown in the figure:

Now #C2C2C2:

#D2D2D2:

#D8D8D8:

#DEDEDE:

#E7E7E7:

And finally #F0F0F0:

Step 3

Create a new layer and name it Left hand(left hand).

Take the color #565656 and draw a 2px horizontal line with it. Do everything as shown in the figure:

On the same layer, paint the top left corner with the color #E7E7E7. Then color #D2D2D2 paint the top right corner and bottom left. For the lower right corner - color #AEAEAE:

Duplicate the layer Left hand and name it Right hand (Right hand). Use Move Tool (V) and move the layer to the right:

Merge Layers Outline And Fill. Name the new layer Body(Body):

Step 4

Create a layer folder Expressions(Facial expressions). Our emoji will have two facial expressions: open eyes and closed eyes (blinking).

Create a layer in the folder Open eyes(Open eyes) and against this background with color #565656 draw the eyes as shown in the image (3px in height and 2px between the eyes):

Create a layer in the same folder Closed eyes (Closed eyes). Disable the layer Open eyes and paint with color #565656 horizontal line 6px:

Step 5

If you want to change the color, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation (Ctrl, U). Check the box Colorize and change Hue and Saturation. Save the result.

Do the same with other layers by clicking on the Load button:

Part 2. Animation

Step 6

Go to Adobe Image Ready(Ctrl, Shift, M) (animation in Photoshop CS3 and higher: Window > Animation).

Step 7

If you want to make a smooth animation of, say, just moving a hand, change the position of the hand by 1px on each subsequent frame:

The same can be done with the eyes, body, etc.

If you are too lazy to do detailed movement work, change the position of the body part on each frame by more than 1px.

Step 8

Make sure your emoji has blinking eyes. To do this, you first need to make the layer visible Open eyes, and then Closed eyes. It should look something like this.

This simple lesson is about drawing emojis like the one on the right using Paint.NET. For drawing you will need additional ones, a description of which is on our website.

Stage 1. Draw the base of the smiley face.

To do this, create a new image (default 800 by 600 pixels), on which, in addition to the background, create a new transparent layer. On this layer we draw using the “oval” tool with the “solid figure” type - circle. To make the circle even, you can hold down the Shift key while drawing. To draw the circle, we used the traditional yellow color for emoticons.

Stage 2. Create a highlight on the smiley face.

First, select the yellow circle of the base for the smiley face, for example, using the “magic wand” tool. After this, create a new transparent layer, which will be located above the layer with the yellow circle. If the new layer is not where you want it, you can easily move it using the appropriate buttons in the Paint.NET layer control window. Now let's make the newly created layer active and slightly compress the selected area on the left and right to make an ellipse, as in the picture on the left.

Now that we're sure our new layer is active, let's use Paint.NET's Gradient Tool inside the selection. Let's make the first (primary) color white, the second (additional) color will be completely transparent, i.e. the alpha transparency value will be zero. So, using a regular linear gradient, starting from the top edge of the image and stopping somewhere in the middle of the smiley face, you should end up with a picture similar to the one in the picture on the right (you naturally won’t have a green gradient arrow and a square with flowers). We must have drawn them for clarity later). Now all that remains is to make the transition along the highlight border smooth; for this, without deselecting the area, use the additional . We applied this effect with a maximum radius value of ten. The result obtained is shown in the figure below.

You can also make the yellow background of the emoticon base less uniform. To do this, you need to make the layer with the yellow circle active, and then, using, for example, the “magic wand” tool, select the yellow circle. We filled the selected area with a regular linear gradient, from top to bottom, using white with a transparency of 150 as the main color and a second additional color that was absolutely transparent. The result can be seen on the right. The layer with the highlight and the layer with the yellow circle can now be combined, so that there are two layers left: the background and, in fact, the smiley face.

Stage 3. Eyes and mouth of the emoticon.

Now you need to designate the eyes and mouth of the future emoticon. To do this, create a new transparent layer on top of the existing one and using the same “oval” and “line or curve” tools, draw in black the base for the eyes and mouth of the smiley. You should end up with something similar to what you see in the picture on the right. We created a new layer for the eyes and mouth so that it would be convenient to move or copy them. So we drew one eye of the emoticon using the oval tool, and created the second one by copying the first one, so that the eyes would turn out the same. Now the eyes layer and the smiley face layer can be combined.

In principle, the resulting emoticon is not bad, but we wanted to make it with transparent eyes, so using the “magic wand” tool, select the eyes and mouth of the emoticon and delete them. If you, like us, drew the eyes and background of the smiley face on different layers, do not forget to combine them before doing so, as described above. The result should be an image similar to the picture on the left. For clarity of what should happen, we turned off the background layer and showed in the figure on the right only the contents of the smiley layer.

Stage 4. Outline the smiley face and make it three-dimensional.

Now we need to add pupils to the smiley face and outline it. We will do this on the layer with the smiley face. We will create the pupils using the “oval” tool we know, which we made black. Now, in order to outline the smiley face, we need to select all the drawn elements on this layer. The easiest way to do this is “in reverse”: using the “magic wand” tool, select all the empty (transparent) areas of our image. In order to select several areas, you can, for example, hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard while selecting areas. Next, we invert the selected area by pressing the Ctrl+I key combination. Now we have all the drawn areas of the layer selected. Let's apply to them from the set of external effect "Processing the edge of the selected area". The result can be seen in the figure on the left. We used a line thickness of three.

Now all that remains is to give the smiley some volume. To do this, without removing the selection, apply another one from the set of external effect “Processing the edge of the selected area”. For simplicity, we used the default settings for this effect. However, if you experiment by changing the parameters, you can get different interesting results. All that remains is to come up with some kind of background for the emoticon we made. Let's make a simple two-color background using the "gradient" tool and applying it to the "background" layer of our image. The smiley we drew can be seen in the picture below.

Emoticons have long entered the sphere of our communication as a way of expressing our emotions. We put emoticons on social networks, send them in SMS, and so on. What is a smiley? It's a yellow circle with eyes and a smile. If you suddenly need to draw it, then we offer you instructions explaining how to draw a smiley face.

How to draw a smiley

  1. First, draw a circle of the size you need.
  2. Then we draw two auxiliary lines that determine the level of the eyes and mouth.
  3. We draw the eyes along the lines outlined in advance. How to draw a beautiful smiley face? The expression of the eyes and mouth of your drawing will determine what it will be like: sad, cheerful, or even angry. The eyes can be round, with a pupil in the middle, or sometimes crosses are placed instead of eyes; such a smiley will be more sketchy. You can draw eyelashes on your eyes. In general, everything depends on your imagination.
  4. The mouth is usually drawn in the shape of an arc - a smile. But you can also make a sad expression, then the smile will need to be reversed.
  5. Don't forget to erase the auxiliary lines.
  6. Now we add color: paint over the smiley face yellow, eyes and mouth are also painted in appropriate colors.

As you can see, drawing a smiley face is quite simple, but despite the simplicity of the drawing, you can add something of your own to it, for example, the expression of the eyes or mouth. It all depends on your imagination. Computer emoticons are faceless and of the same type, while emoticons drawn in pencil carry a piece of the artist’s soul. So draw for your health.
