Fans of this style create groups in in social networks, on specialized forums they discuss how a person who has no artistic talent can learn to draw anime.
It is known that Japanese anime cartoons are aimed at teenage and adult audiences.
Although anime arose relatively recently, namely at the beginning of the 20th century, certain laws have developed in drawing techniques that are closely related to the traditions of Japanese art.
The characteristic features of the visual in general, as well as cartoons and comics in particular, are the planar orientation and graphic nature of images.
To understand how to learn to draw anime without artistic skills, you need to think in general terms.
One of the main rules is sketchiness. have a round face big eyes, small mouth and nose. There are diagrams on how to draw anime, namely: body parts, emotions, movements. All this is strictly regulated.
The second rule is planar orientation. An anime image should not be three-dimensional. clear outline, there are only falling shadows that do not create much volume.
Similar laws for depicting people have existed in traditional graphics and painting in Japan for many millennia.

Step-by-step instructions will tell you in detail how to learn to draw anime girls.
Start drawing anime with a pencil. Draw an even circle, divide it into four equal segments by vertical and horizontal lines. Vertical line will help draw the nose, and the horizontal line will help draw the lines of the eyes, eyebrows and lips. Divide the bottom half of the circle into four equal parts. The first is the eyebrow line, the second is the upper eyelash line, the third is the lower eyelash line.

Great, we've already come a long way and only a little bit remains. We outline some lines with a thick pencil and shade some elements. In general, we add chiaroscuro to the picture.
Also, we depict the collar of the dress and draw circles on it. Of course, if you don't like circles, you can choose any other shape or patterns.
Step 5
Well, at the last stage we paint this dress and shade the hands.

What is important for a beginner to know?
Well, now a little theory, if you don’t need it or are not interested, then you can immediately move on to the following step-by-step examples. But we still recommend reading it.
In general, if you don’t know how to draw at all and have never drawn, but want to learn how to draw only anime, this is a bit of a wrong approach. You must want to learn how to draw in principle. 
Anime is not very different from regular drawings, so if you are skilled at drawing ordinary people, then you will learn to work with anime without much difficulty.
Let's give you a couple of tips:
— When drawing, try to occupy the entire area of the sheet, drawing objects large. This way you will learn faster.
- If you are bad with your hands, but good with your legs, then your hands are most likely not very good either. Draw the entire body from head to toe.

Head
The head is the only part of the body in which an anime character differs greatly from a regular one.
There are usually two types of heads:

Second step-by-step example
This one and next example we will not describe in detail, since the essence of each stage remains the same.
Let's sketch the head.
We detail the sketch by adding a face and hair to it.
We erase the lines and sketch out the body, if you don’t understand what kind of shape this is, then take a look at the end result, everything will fall into place.
We draw hands and begin to work on the costume.
We depict the shoulders and skirt.
Well, the final touch is the legs. Try to make them not very thick, since our girl is quite thin :)

Let's get to the last one step by step example within this lesson.
So, let's make a general sketch with a pronounced chest.
Well, everything is standard here: eyes, mouth, nose, ears.
Now this character's hair is very long and reaches the lower back.
So, we have to dress her up at least a little, otherwise we end up with some kind of erotic drawing. We put her on a swimsuit with bows.
We color the hair.

Step 1
Draw the chin and cheeks. Focus on drawing them the same on both sides. Although it may look simple, even the slightest mistake can make the drawing look unattractive.

Draw the neck. Notice how thin it is. 
Step 3
Draw the nose and mouth. Most anime artists draw the nose and mouth VERY small. However, some people don't do this, so decide for yourself.

Add eyes. Notice how far apart and how close to the nose they are. 
Step 5
Add eyebrows. Notice how much longer they are relative to the eyes. 
Step 6
Add the ears and you have created a face. Notice that I added a hairline. Big head...

About the average head size (for anime). It doesn't look very attractive until you add hair. Hair is such a big part of anime that it requires a separate tutorial. 
The guy's facial structure is different (in most cases). Guys' faces are usually more elongated, their chins are more pronounced. 
When drawing a guy's neck, you can draw it similar to a girl's neck (but usually only for young boys, including teenagers). Or, as shown, you can draw it more developed.
Side view
Man and woman - style 1
More realistic and more pronounced. Their noses don't end sharply. Their eyes are smaller. Guys' chins are more prominent than girls'. 
Man and woman - style 2
Their head is more round. Their eyes are bigger.
You can draw an almost straight line from the tip of your nose to your chin. (i.e. lips and chin are weakly defined - approx. per.) 
General methods face shading
There are many ways to shade a face, here are a few.
Try to leave a little space between the shadow and the nose.
Sometimes there are highlights above the cheek and on the lip. 
Drawing eyes
Drawing simple eye
Step 1.
Draw a shape like this to make the white base of the eye.
It will only serve as a guide and you will erase it when you are finished. 
Step 2
From each corner, draw a line directed outward, then connect them with an arc. 
Step 3
After creating the arcs, paint over the resulting shapes. 
Step 4
Add the shapes shown. 
Step 5
Color in these shapes and add a sketch of the iris.
Erase the guide lines and you're done. Now you have a simple eye. 
Drawing More Complex Eyes
Step 6
Continue from step 5, draw some eyelashes from the top left corner of the eye. 
Step 7
Creating “soft” eyelashes. 
Create"soft" eyelashes on both ends upper eyelid. See instructions above. (Instructions: Draw the lines very close together. At the end of each stroke, release pressure on the pencil (or XD tablet) to create soft ends.)
Step 8
Add small eyelashes to the lower eyelid.

Drawing the iris and pupil

When observing professional anime artists in galleries, I noticed that almost all anime artists draw them from similar angles. 
On a face looking directly at you, the eyes are sometimes placed at an angle (arrows illustrate this angle). 
A common misconception is that what bigger face goes into a 3/4 turn, the further that eye (the eye farthest from you - approx. per) will move towards the edge of the face. It is not right!
Do you see the shapes limiting the area with the eyes? Let me say that these lines are guides.
How larger angle turn in relation to you, the smaller and narrower the guide lines will be (at the far end of the figure - approx. per.), but they do not change their position. 
This is one of the few angles where you should draw the eye at the edge of the face. 
Drawing closed eyes.
If the eyes arch downwards (like a U), then the character is sleeping, meditating (thinking) or is in a peaceful state.
If the eyes arch upward, the character is very happy or smiling. 
Different eyes
Remember, you should not draw eyes “strictly according to the template”. Be creative, combine and mix various ways to create your own unique eyes.

When drawing eyes with tears, make the drops large and draw the highlights/reflections in the eye more than you would normally do.

Keep your distance. Pay attention to how far the eye is (from the bridge of the nose - approx. per.). 
Drawing Noses and Mouths
Mouths and noses (in anime) are usually quite small compared to the rest of the face. In anime-style pictures, the main emphasis is usually on the eyes. 
Drawing Anime Ears
Almost every anime artist draws ears differently. Draw creatively! Ears can be anything you want for different characters, so have fun with them. 
Drawing bangs.
There are many ways to draw anime bangs.
This tutorial divides bangs into two categories: bangs with a certain organization of strands (in the future, for brevity, I will call them combed bangs - translator's note) and random bangs.
Combed bangs.
Combed bangs are bangs that cover the entire forehead, and perhaps most bangs that are commonly drawn. However, there may be certain features when drawing them, since they are not straight.
Point and Guide Method.
Step 1.
This helps in creating the first guide lines. Create a dot or circle directly above the face. 
Step 2.
Create a guide curve. Outline the boundaries of the large strands of bangs. Please note that all lines are directed towards the point.
Each strand of hair will follow the same curve as the guide. 
Step 3.
Start sketching each strand.
Remember to maintain the consistency of the bends and draw the strands in the direction of the point. 
Step 4.
Finish sketching out the bangs.
Please note that the middle strand serves as a way to mark the middle (line of facial symmetry - translator's note). The bangs on both sides of the middle strand bend in different directions. 
Step 5.
Clean up your sketch or outline the strands. 
You can also add more bangs. 
The point and guide method used above was also used for this illustration. The point was placed much higher to make the bends in the strands smaller. 
Side view
Step 1.
This is the same guiding principle used in the Point and Guide Method. The only difference is that it is rotated. 
Step 2.
Start sketching each strand. Draw curves where the guide line bends and make the end of the strand where the guide stops. 
Step 3.
Erase guides and lines that you don't want to see. Remember to adapt the guide and change it to suit your character's personality. 
If you draw strands by picking a point on another strand and going from there, your bangs will probably look like this. The strands will likely be deformed and further separated, and will give the same effect as shown in the picture to the right. Drawing in this manner is best used for spiky hair. 
By drawing the whole strands and then going back and erasing the unwanted parts so that it is not noticeable, you can get straight strands that look combed like the one shown here. 
Bangs don't always have to be that V-shaped. By changing the type of tips you can get completely different looks. 
Step 1. Draw a straight line and give it a curve near the tip.
Step 2. Draw a straight line (or it can have a bend that suits you).
Step 3: Add a few thin strands here and there. 
Step 1. Draw two lines.
Step 2: Make additions that look like two ends or strands, then connect them.

V-shaped Hair. Eyes.

Draw the eyes on top of the hair. 
Method 3.
Draw the hair over the eyes, but make the outline of the eyes visible. 
Messy bangs
Messy bangs... well... messy. They may or may not follow a specific pattern, and they are usually divided into parts that can point in completely different directions.
Guide Points Guide points (like the point in the Point and Guide Method) should help you keep your bangs under control.
Step 1. There are countless options, but it helps to try different bangs and hairstyles. 
Drawing hair attached to the head above the forehead
The wedges on the hairline should be aligned along the line of symmetry of the face. 
Remember that the hair is not glued to the head. They have volume even when pulled back.
Hair detailing isn't just about how many lines you add or the number of strands of bangs that allow you to convey a character's personality. Many details can be added through shadows and highlights. 
Japanese comics (manga) and cartoons (anime) are a huge layer of culture with its own traditions and rules. Anime characters are easily recognizable, and millions of fans of this genre visual arts scattered all over the world.

Movement is life
Anime and manga are impossible without dynamics. Each episode is characterized by a certain event and a certain movement. When planning to draw your anime character, first of all think about what pose he should take in the drawing. Do not try to draw “from memory” or as you “see fit”. Manga is not only (and not always) big eyes, it is, first of all, a clear correspondence to the “real world”. You will definitely need examples. Take similar images from other works, or use a large mirror in which to pose for yourself. Try it different angles, before starting the final sketch.
Basics of drawing. Creating a hero figure
As you may know from the lesson "", the height of a person is on average seven and a half of his "heads". Because anime heroes are still some kind of heroes, then their height, as a rule, is 8 or more “heads”. This way our heroes become more expressive. The remaining body proportions are identical to those of a human.
At the first stage of drawing, we create only a mannequin of our future character, which looks more like an articulated doll than another master of the elements.
From frame to overall structure
So, let's try to give more specific features to our character. For convenience, let's take the simplest pose. Mark the muscles and place small ovals at the joints. Please note that the wrists and the very bottom of the legs remain sticks. The torso is also not connected to the legs.
Finishing the contours
Now let’s finally form the contours of the body. Gently swipe lightly curved lines, completely forming the image of our hero. Smooth lines are extremely important. Any angles will create the effect of mechanicalness and unnaturalness.
Elastic band is our everything
Carefully wipe off all auxiliary lines. As you can see, we have a man. If you want to portray a woman, then in addition to pronounced breasts, you should also give her wider hips and wider thin waist, giving shape " hourglass" According to manga canon, women have narrower shoulders and slimmer necks. Often a woman’s legs are drawn in such a way as to further emphasize the hourglass shape.

The stick-stick-cucumber approach that we used in general and in this lesson in particular is a very convenient way for beginners to learn different poses and correctly draw their characters in the required position.
