Stage 1
Let's start drawing with sharp geometric shapes, which at first will not look like lips at all. So, we draw three even parallel lines. 
Stage 2
We connect these lines and get a polygon. From this we will grow our lips.

Stage 3
Draw lines inside this polygon. Roughly speaking, in the lower part we draw one round stripe, and in the upper part we should get a stripe in the shape of a bird flying far, far away. 
Stage 4
We erase our auxiliary polygon and draw “bumps”. 
Stage 5
We already have everything ready, but we need to apply shadows, otherwise the drawing will turn out implausible.
The line between the top and bottom should be as dark as possible, since the least amount of light gets there. Carefully shade the upper and lower lips. 
Stage 6
Use your finger or a cloth to smear our shading; do it carefully so as not to spoil the drawing.

How to draw lips step by step
This example will be a little more difficult than the previous one, but you can still handle it. If something doesn’t work out, then redraw the drawing until you are happy with the result.
So, we draw a triangle with a rounded line at the top, parallel line divides the triangle almost down the middle. Surprisingly, it will help us depict beautiful lips.

We erase the triangle, it has served its purpose and we no longer need it. Lightly press the pencil to draw the contours of the highlights. 
We shade everything that is not included in the contours of the highlights. 
So, the most difficult part begins - chiaroscuro. Of course, you don't have to try to apply realistic shadows. In some drawings it will even look out of place.
However, we paint everything with approximately the same tone. 
We depict cracks; they must follow the shape of the lips. 
We are working on the lower part.

A couple of important points with your mouth open
In the previous example, the mouth is open and the gap is white, not painted over. This was done to make it easier to understand for beginners, but it is wrong.
The gap should be dark or there should be a tongue sticking out of it.
Also, don't forget about teeth. And most importantly, do not forget that a shadow falls on them too.

As we said earlier, the mouth can be very different: the upper part is plumper than the lower or vice versa, or the same, very thin, very plump, etc. In general, there are many options.
Below is a standard example, in which the places that protrude forward are marked with an oval.

- — There is always a small depression between the nose and the top, and it is almost always darkened

Here I will try to help you with the difficult task of drawing lips. I think that being able to draw lips, and indeed a face in general, is very difficult in itself.
So let's get started.
The mouth and lips are a very interesting part of the face. I'll show you some points and give you a little overview of drawing lips and mouth.
How to draw lips for beginners
First, let's draw lines through the lips that describe the volume of the mouth. You see - red lines go around all the volumes of the lips. Note that the upper lip is usually darker than the lower lip because less light falls on it. Here our lower lip is convex, so more light falls on it, it is very light. Don't forget about the shadows in the corners of your mouth! The corners of the mouth are often “recessed” into the cheeks, which is why we highlight them as dark.
In this drawing I have marked the most shaded areas of the upper lip in purple. As a rule, the entire upper lip is darker than the lower lip, but the purple areas are especially dark.
In these places, the lip goes especially strongly inward, at a large angle.

Here I have roughly divided the lips into 5 parts.
Pay attention to the small central piece - this is the so-called “Cupid's bow”.
This is very important distinctive feature lips, always mark it when you want to add personality to the drawing, people's cupid's bow can be very different!
Let's move on to the lower lip: in orange I marked the shaded areas that will go deeper into the cheeks and stick out less.
But still, the lower lip will be lighter than the upper lip, because its main surface faces upward and forward - towards the light.
And here I marked in green the necessary shadows that are always present near the mouth.
They represent the facial muscles surrounding the mouth. Mouth and lips are not just stuck on a flat face! They must be “fitted in”, not forgetting the total volumes.
These shadows are not too deep, but nevertheless they must certainly be present under the lower lip and in the corners of the mouth.
And here, pay attention to the light areas around the perimeter of the lips!
It's small, but important detail, the potretist must never forget about her.
This is the most prominent “edge” of the lips; as a rule, it stands out quite strongly and is not colored. Neither beard nor mustache grows in these places, and for dark-skinned people this edge is even more noticeable.
This edge stands out most strongly when the shadows fall, in the language of pilots - at 5 o'clock (that is, the light falls from above, slightly to the left).

Draw the outlines of the lips as shown in the picture.

Let's move on to the next stage. We will draw what is around the lips and at the bottom of the face. The noticeable space between the lip and chin will be in shadow, and there is also an unusual area above the upper lip that requires work. So, if the light falls at a right angle, then the upper part of the mouth should be shaded, and the lower part, on the contrary, should be lightened. In most cases, the shadows will need to be positioned this way. The only exception is when human face illuminated from below. Then you need to perform the steps described above exactly the opposite.
Remained one of the most important issues about how to draw lips if the head is turned in profile or three-quarters. The proportions of the mouth in the second case will naturally be distorted. The half of the lips that is closer to the viewer should remain the same size, and the second should be drawn half as large as the first. And now take two - the second method in which we work with constructive lines. First, lightly mark the place for the lips with a pencil, taking into account any contractions. You can outline the lips as a kind of oval, and only then give them certain features. After finally finding the line of the mouth itself, you need to look for a line of symmetry on them. And about important little things: do not forget that the shape of the lips certainly depends on the bite of the teeth. Well, for example, the shape of lips with a normal bite will look something like this:
The upper lip protrudes slightly in comparison with the lower one, and its tubercle is slightly inclined downward, towards the oral slit, and, as it were, overlaps the lower lip with its middle, going deep into the slit. Middle of lips (mouth gap) is located on the center center line.
When drawing lips in a three-quarter turn, it is important to remember that half of the lips that is located in the distance, in reduced perspective.
As for drawing the lower lip, this also has its own peculiarity. Since there are some quadratic paired muscles there, you need to start building your lips taking them into account. They are usually outlined as ovals, and you also need to remember about perspective. These ovals should be symmetrical to each other.
