During the months spent in the USA, Malakhov fell in love with the American tradition of planting many flowers in the house. Since then, in each of his homes, he turns the balcony into a “green zone”, densely entwined with flowers.

Various guesses were made about the reasons for Malakhov’s departure, until the presenter himself revealed his cards. He said that he was tired of being a “universal human soldier”, limited in his freedom to choose topics. “I came to First as a student, ran around as an assistant and brought coffee to television legends. I became a popular TV presenter, but they still look at me like I’m the son of a regiment.” Malakhov noted that he wants to grow, become a producer and choose for himself what to tell people about. It was the tight framework that became the main reason for his decision.

Malakhov's successor was presenter Dmitry Borisov. In turn, Malakhov replaced Boris Korchevnikov as the host of “Live Broadcast” on the Rossiya TV channel.
